First of all. I am a woman, but when I click on your video, you're so beautiful. Then, the way you start the cooking, is good. That will prevent the fufu from having had ones in the middle. I love your cooking. Thanks
Nice recipe, but what are your seasonings and where can I order them from? There are Asian or so-called ethnic hole in the wall grocers near where I live. Still, I don't find much besides Goya and various Caribbean products. Tanks!
Is this the same as cameroon cassava bread, only instead of flour cameroon use fresh cassava or fermented cassava. What you did is like the Caribbean but we boil it after forming a dough. I am assuming your flour is precooked or the flour is partially cooked
Lady Amaimono Next time you're out and about and see someone from Africa, just ask where they get their ingredients. Chances are, if you live in a moderately-sized city, that the is at least one specialty shop for ingredients. Usually they are small stores whose advertising is by word-of-mouth.
I'm from West africa, Ghana. We have different kinds of banku and they all have different taste and names. Also fufu is different from Banku. Nice video tho
What is the difference between fufu and banku?? I am not familiar with the causine in Ghana. I am from the USA. But my friend is from Ghana and I really want to learn to cook these things but I am very confused. It seems people call it different things and their names may not be authentic ??? Hello
@@latonyarochelleboston-webb3506 fufu is made from freshly cooked cassava and plantain pounded together. We also have yam fufu and cocoyam fufu. Banku is made from corn dough and cassava dough.
You are right. Likely the powder is okay. I gleaned cassava legally here in France and had to look in a cookbook and noted it is highly toxic indeed. I had to process it at home. I could not do her recipe, as I am gluten intolerant, but perhaps I could substitute a little buckwheat flour. I like quinoa a lot but this is new for me and also takes processing. Soaking, rubbing, precooking.
Andrew, fufu is not made with flour from grain, so it's not the same. It's cooked yams or cassava that has been dried and ground into a powder, and that is what she is using in this video. The powder has already been cooked before making it into a powder. One of my friends makes fufu all the time using yam powder. Some might call it "flour" but it's not flour like a traditional grain flour. Fufu can also be made from fresh cassava or yams instead of the powder.
Didn't you pay attention Carla? She clearly says "cassava powder (or cornmeal) and water." As for the measurements, they are pretty intelligible when you read the description. To save yourself annoyance in future I suggest you either stick to cooking foods you actually know or at least try to read the instructions! 😂
I'm from bahrain I love African food so much

KANJURA!!!!!!!! FUFU!!!!!!

Is garI and fufu the same?
No dear
No
in congo we don't cook the fufu like this woman
Ketsia channel Youre right! But i would really like to try this version. Our fufu is firmer. I dont know how to explain.
Ketsia channel how is authentically made in your area? I want to try this at home but I want to make it true to the African recipe
Ketsia channel our own ugali is also harder than that one. And we cook it another way.
Nous on comprend. Pas l'anglais c'est interressan mais hélas
That Is. Peppers. I’m. Mexican
Make a ball hmmmm🥺
Isn’t fufu made from yams not flour? Someone help I’m confused lol
Papa Jose yeah like who would want to eat straight up flour. That sounds disgusting. You’re basically eating raw dough.
@Papa Jose but in this video, all I seen her do was add flour to water and boiled it
