Love to see you more and more active with this type of content on your channel bro... Your city skate style it's so different (smooth AF) vs. the normal urban skaters i normally watch. Keep it up please with this type of videos Joey! 🔥🚀
bro... you're a GOD lol! I'm from Montreal as well and as a cyclist I'm very familiar with the spots you're going through. The level of skill you show in this footage is just mind blowing to me. I'm making house music while watching your footage and it's inspiring! I'm having a blast lol! Thanks for sharing your incredible art and I hope you stay safe throughout your journey. Cheers!
Careful on the roads down here! Montreal is legendary for pot holes and construction cones everywhere 😂 Bienvenue a Montreal! Mange pas trop de poutine mais la bierre est bonne 😉
Old competitor of yours back in the day, came in 2nd after you of course a couple times, one doing a relay with Josh Woods and you were with Jeremy Anderson, and another one in Arizona Race and I can never forget experiencing racing behind you at San Francisco Marathon in 2009 with the power you had but ya even as your competitor I was still a fan of you and brag once in awhile that ya, I raced the world champ a handful of times. Having said all that senseless chatter haha, I remember before I got into speed I used to just put my rollerblades on and skate outside and had so much fun just like what I'm seeing you do in the video. I stopped racing a long time ago because I was just over it, but it's so much fun to keep doing what we love because that's why we all got into it. Keep living your life man and glad you are just having fun! And Lastly, be safe man, no matter how good we are, there are tons of crazy drivers these days and skating as fast as you are on the streets like that, I just would hate to hear if something bad happened so be careful. Just about every cyclist I know has been hit by a car out here in SoCal and it's in more open road than what I'm seeing in your video. Peace!
Good on you Joey. The internet knows that you rock in so many ways. Don't let the one trick ponies drag you down. Your plyometrics video is one of the greatest things ever.. "This is a MAX EFFORT" rofl
It's fun to watch your videos. I started inline skating last week. I'm 50 and have about 4 hours experience total and about 20 miles 😂. Hopefully I can learn how to stop soon
kudos joey! i speed skate in upstate new york but mainly on the few bikepaths we have. watching your slowing techniques was encouraging as to what i've figured out. i prolly won't be playing in traffic like you but i'm almost 78, so that's my excuse 😉
I liked the video very much! I'd like to see this kind of videos with good music. And I liked your style of braking - elegant in style and gentle for wheels
How do you bear the vibration on the carbon boots? Every time I try urban my skates go brrrrrrr and I'm like "nope". Very smooth filming, pleasure to watch, add more racing if possible (safety number one of course)
Some roads were really obnoxious, some were really smooth. I guess the excitement drowns out some of that vibrations with endorphins kicking through traffic. I also lived on skates as a kid so a lot of the annoyances don't really bother me probably
When I read urban skate, I was expecting some footage with your evo skates! Looking forward to future videos with forward and backwards, stair rides!! 😜
you missed The Old Port Joey! a beautiful place to roll (beside the Saint-Laurent River) next time let us know to the Roller community of Montreal, to welcome you and meet you in person
Hi Joey, I'm a huge fan of yours! Could you consider organizing a small meetup in Montreal? If that's not possible, I hope to run into you on the streets someday.
We want more such 15 minutes city Exploration.... Guess what you can literally change city from that skates within 15 minutes.....XD Google Maps fastest way is via scotty..... Le Joey hold my inlines...XD Awsm bro nice Hope that it will not give pain to ur hand ....XD
What a time we live in to get to watch an Olympian fly through the city streets🎉🎉🎉
I love this stuff. I go speed skating with my bonts Luna 13.2 inch frame. I go commute around wearing a running vest for emergency shoes.

More to come!
random Montrealer: "Was that blur two time Olympian and world champion Joey Mantia?" but in french of course.
Thank you for uplading this! I found it very interesting to see your technique of controlling your speed using speed skates.... wonderful to watch
Glad you enjoyed it!

The most amazing is that you avoid all the pot holes of montreal streets. Youve got some skills.

Great video though! Nice tour of Montreal!
@@kevinnorris1691 that's coming one of these days
Awesome to watch! Amazing skills!
Faster than a motor bike, don't mess with J Mantia🚀
Hahha, is awesome to see an speed skater doing that.
Pd: Yoo, when are you going to upload another race breakdown???
Which race do you wanna see? They're pretty time consuming to do, but now that I'm settled in Montreal I should have a bit of free time
One of my favorite speed skaters🫡🫡🫡
Who makes your skates? Glad to see you back again.

Lots of time to explore this summer, so many places on the list

World champion and daredevil 🤙
I like your skating style ❤
Feedback on the camera ... 0 notion of downhill, except the weird leg movements. Awesome video. Would have never considered montreal for a urban skate

Just an Idea like that, you should put the speed on the screen!! Cheers from mtl
Get a helmet mirror, it's pretty useful! EVT's is good.
What’s the boot and frame setup here? Bont carbons?
i gave the bonts up a while ago, they were nice, but I'm on Huang boots and NSC bigfoot frames in this video
@@JoeyMantiaSkates may I ask why you switched over? I’m finding the bont carbon vibrations super tough, but it’s a new boot for me
bet 6:39 had some nice words
Luckily I don't parle the francais
I wish we had traffic synced lights in van
Wow! :)
Was this mostly downhill?
Watch out for the potholes
What city is this?
how fast are you going?
Based on his other videos, probably 30-55kph (20-34mph)
