Just got back into inline skating after 15 years, starting with a 110 mm 3 wheeler Powerslide (mostly urban adventures and closed bike path roaming) . Already hooked into it again, and your videos are really good inspirations! Already about thinking to buy speed skates, never tried them before 😎. Thanks for the good content bro! Cheers from Hungary.
I wound up here in a round about manner over a couple of weeks, going from inline tutorials, to thestutteringskater and now here - This was a really satisfying video man, and comparing directly to Ari i personally appreciate the BPM/Distance/Speed monitor in the top left, and the mini map in the top right, makes me feel even more engrossed in the video. Hope you do more of these, and if/when you do, that you can find some open flat piece of great asphalt where you can show off a bit more of how "relaxed" you are while going super fast
Love your recent content Joey. Would be great if you could do another urban skating video explaining all the equipment you use (skates, wheels, helmet, camera, camera stick, etc.)
When I first saw the title of this video I thought to myself the area by the Olympic stadium is perfect. As soon as you head up towards Rosemont it's insane how rough some of the roads are.
8:05 bro, I am barely maneuvering on the bike road, and you are going much faster then me, with all these quick changes, breaking... I really don't get it how easily you do everything that. I still haven't learned a double push. 😢😢😢 My both legs are thiner then one of yours, I just cannot believe it how easily you pull up them... This is an art and I enjoy watching you.
Hey Joey 💫🏆 I am Yash from India and I am your fan since childhood, I still remember your World Record 14 years ago and I used to Show your video to all my friends and used to explain your double push techniques ❤️ I habe been grown up by watching you as my mentor and Ideal ❤️. I was a National Level Medalist in India, but after my high school in 2016 I had to quit the game due to some family problems and today again God showed me your video and I got Goosebumps again and emotional at the same time 🥹 Thankyou for uploading videos at that time ehen no one else did that and when people didn't even knew youtube in India.. May god bless you always and I pray to god that once in my life I meet you. Also if you read this comment please guide me and give advice that can i get back in the form which i was in 2010 to 2014 ? My age is 27, will i be able to perform at that level again ? Thank-you ❤
Would like to see you come in trois rivières next summer, desforges street become a "walkable" street in the summer, no trafic allowed, and their is light trafic in the downtown
sherbooke and rachel street. I use those streets to go to work all the time with my e-scooter. Why we have so many days ? Because we like to get paid to do absolutely nothing ! 😂
I dropped my Insta360 X3 yesterday and scratched the removable lens protector, which might be able to be buffed out with something like PlastX from Meguire's.
Its hard to urban skate and not feel like an a**hole. I don't try to annoy their dogs, I don't try to jump scare them, and I give people plenty of space but some still dive out of the way.
It's usually the speed differential that is the problem. I bike a lot in the city, usually going 30 km/h but I always slow down to 2-5 km/h more than the people I'm passing as it is way safer. Uses more energy for sure but safety 1st. If you want to ride a long time and actually see your average, go somewhere you won't be in traffic or in a urban setting... Him going 30 when people are going 20 is like going 60 in the city on 40km/h roads. Very dangerous.
here a suggestion that is not in Quebec , the Legacy trail between Canmore and Banff, in Alberta . it straight in the Rockies amazing trail and view lol
As a guy who is awful at the discipline of urban skating I can't really weigh in, I'd consider this more urban speed skating maybe? I imagine the more tools you can have in your toolbox for stopping the safer you'll be for actual urban skating though
Probably too late for that x4, but for future cams you should get lens protectors - they don't affect the video, and they can save your camera. Without them, my x3's lens would've been destroyed a dozen times by now.
I bike in mtl all the time, it's usually faster to bike than go by car. Especially during rush hour. But I was concerned by how you were going through reds and going super fast passing people on bikes. This is super dangerous, not only for yourself but for others. I like the video because I think we need to stick it to cars in general but riding like you do is just a matter of time before you hurt yourself or others. Your speed is impressive though, I ride a road bike and I'm pretty sure I can't do it as fast as you...
Hell yeah! But why bring shoes? Shoes make you shorter not taller.
Love that you are an inspiration to your friends.
Super smooth roads! Cant even imagine skating without pads at 30+ kmh! Fair play
I wanna see 700 more, time trial to the airport
Joey, thank you very much for your work! It looked impressive and dangerous. You must be careful. Good health.

Please let's make this a brand new series of your channel, I will watch all of them! Thanks 😄
That is the plan
Curto demais os teus vídeos! E, sim, quero ver mais contra o tempo! hahaha BR
your crossover is so smooth!! so cool bro 🤩🤩
Love the format, would dfinitely like to see more.
That's pretty cool Joey! I will watch definitely more!! From Mtl too! cheers

I am subbing explicitly to see more time trials
HAH the punchline xDD good luck next time :P Have definitely done more or less the same thing before, so i can relate!

Just try It, you will find skating is something you do not forget. Come on!
Я уверен ,ты сможешь! 💪
Мне 41 год и я возвращаюсь в ту форму, в которой был, хоть это не легко даётся после перерыва 12 лет
У тебя все получится, верь в себя!!!
I envy and aspire to your skating form. Make lots more videos.
perfect vlogging combo. OP3 [takkinh head shots] n the X4 [third person]. I use the Meta Ray Bans too for POV
Would like to see you come in trois rivières next summer, desforges street become a "walkable" street in the summer, no trafic allowed, and their is light trafic in the downtown
I thought I might see you at the "Marathon du Canada" last Saturday in Mtl. It was very wet !
sherbooke and rachel street. I use those streets to go to work all the time with my e-scooter.

maisoneuve park is sweet to build up speed.
Also that st-denis hill is good slow burner :D
Dang that’s cool. What’s the secret to doing that double push? I can’t seem to get it down
12:40 what's this technique here? Saw it a few times during the video, for slowing down without wearing on the wheels too bad?
Yea, mostly. Race wheels don't slide so well either
This technique is putting the rear gear to slow down.

yesss! been loving the content
edit: its true: you can't buy more urban time trial victories 💫

Mtl let's go
Dude please post more we are hankering for more speed content
as a skater, very nice....as an advance scout, not so much 😄
its so frustrating not being able to read maps, im always ending up all over the place, and having to check so often. i think i average about 12 kmh.
Where was the traffic?
I absolutely hate that hill. 5 years of biking up it regularly and it still kills me every time
🔥🔥🔥🔥
would you say that mastering stepping plow as a stopping technique is enough for urban skating?
As a guy who is awful at the discipline of urban skating I can't really weigh in, I'd consider this more urban speed skating maybe? I imagine the more tools you can have in your toolbox for stopping the safer you'll be for actual urban skating though
@@JoeyMantiaSkates thank you for the reply! Thats a fair answer. I am just amazed how effective it looks and is gentle on the wheels :)
Dare you to try that challenge again 6 months from now.
how you find so many downhills
Do urban time trials on national holidays count?
Probably too late for that x4, but for future cams you should get lens protectors - they don't affect the video, and they can save your camera.

Ya I'm an idiot for not using mine
Google Maps voice guidance next time 🤣🤣
Loved the video. BTW Eaton is pronounced "eat un" not "eat on" :)
My French is absolutely embarrassing
I will always bet on Joey!
I really need to try speed skate it looks fun and fast, i think its what you have if im correct 😁
Based on my brief try, it's a pain to stay stable at the ankles without support.
@@divac5410 yea the boots look very small idk if im gonna like that, i have urban skate so the support is very good its very different
@@tredz4867 It requires several weeks of break-in and muscle strengthening in the ankles. And a good choice of boots.
You should have taken : Rachel to Viau and then down to Notre-Dame and straight to downtown. All on bike path.

I haven’t put on rollerblades in a few years. But I know by bike I can beat all googles timings in my city
Omg this was on Canada day so it was all closed lol. Too funny.
So based for displaying KM instead of freedom units
Haha I'll probably figure a way to display both at some point
When pro skates on streets
Could you skate IN the mall? Now that’s the question 🤙
And now les vacances de la construction , bienvenue au quebec 🤣
As a Montrealer, I hate you.
But this is very cool

Holy crap i didnt know skates could even reach speeds of almost 40 kmh wtf? Isnt that faster than most cyclists?
Complaining about bad roads and still doing +30k/h 😂Respect!
you Joe are destroyng self esteem of cyclists )
