I just love every single detail of this scene. Lucy Liu as Kitty, Roxie’s neon lights fading away, Velma stunned by Roxie’s sassy speed of thought, Mama’s face and, of course, Billy going with the flow.
Roxie can be pretty dim and naive at times, but when she wants to be, she can be rather cunning, too. Also love how Mama almost looks amused. Like "I can't believe she did that, but damned if it didn't work."
is any of you kids familiar with the poor-girl-condeemned-to-death-and-saved-by-performance-of-love-and-unexpected-public-pregnancy-announcement plot twist? * hunger games book casually peers from bookbag *
Biggest difference is that the protagonist and majority of the characters in the hunger games are more likeable, especially compared to people like Roxie Other difference is that Peeta saying that Katniss is pregnant in order to get the games canceled didn't work out and they were sent to their possible deaths anyway And it didn't also really help Katniss when Peeta confessed his love to her, it got her sponsors, but she still had to do most of the survival herself - the confession spiraled down into causing a revolution when an act of love was interpreted as an act of rebellion and vice versa Edit: Also the "poor girl" here actually killed someone out of spite while enjoying the liberty of having food, clean clothes, partying it up and wanting to be famous for any price unlike the teenage protagonist in the hunger games series who didn't want to be famous, had to fight and hunt for her food, had to fight for her survival even outside the games and then fought in a war and was most of the time betrayed, lied to and used - not to mention that she had to watch several people, including her sister, die in front of her But it's a good book series, nice to see someone mention it
Love the Lucy Liu cameo.
Oren Ishii!!!!
GO TO HELL!!! Hahahaha

She did have shrewdness. And trust me, desperation makes for a great deal of creativity.
If you pause at 1:56 and really look at Velma's face, she actually looked concerned for Roxie before she realized what she was up to.
Id have never caught that. What a cool detail.
Queen's reaction had me rolling on the floor 😂😂
She honestly looks kind of impressed.
"SHIIIIIT"
Velma’s faces and reactions 😂
*“ S h i t “*
Velma's face and reaction actually made me lose my shit when I watched this. It's comedy genius this scene😂😂
It was at this moment when Roxie Hart earned the title of “The Ultimate Stunt Queen” ✨💅🏾
purrrr
As an Asian I remember I was so flattered that this badass criminal was Lucy Liu
She's going to let everyone think that she's pregnant dramatically collapses to the floor Renee Zellweger is a great actress
I don't know if she was really pregnant but I actually wish that she had been it would have made people a lot more sympathetic towards her
The irony is that the actress playing Velma was said to _actually_ be pregnant irl 😂🤣🤣
Three months at the time of the "I can't do it alone" number.
She found out she was pregnant after the movie finished filming, that’s why she’s pregnant at the oscars when she wins
You're telling me, Catherine Zeta-Jones was already three months along when she did that extremely physically demanding damce scene?! 😮@@BriGuyIL1980
"Hey Trixy"
Funniest throwaway line

Lmao I’m sorry but ,”MR FLYNNNNN!”
I love the Go to hell Kitty part in this movie but I couldn't stand it in the stage version
I love this scene!!! she's perfect! haha
They should re-caption this as “Stealing the Spotlight.”
Brilliant! Roxie's part...

media is weird
The media are plural and, individually, reflect what appeals to their readers. So if one thinks, for instance, the National Enquirer is weird, well...
