- The Queen has welcomed Barack and Michelle Obama to Buckingham Palace at the start of their three-day visit to the UK.
The trip began with Barack Obama being formally greeted by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall at the US ambassador's residence, Winfield House.Barack and Michelle Obama are treated to the US National Anthem and a 41-gun
salute after arriving at Buckingham Palace on the US President's first state
visit to Britain.
The Obamas will stay at the palace for one night.
It was clear from the start that both parties had great affection for each other.
They represent the USA with dignity and respect.
