So true. I made a " still" tank for discus and angels. Within hours they were at the top. Started surface agitation back and by morning they were fine. Thax.✌👍
So i basically have 3 goldfish that seemed fine for 3 months but one started to swim weirdly like it use to swim sideways if that makes sense than about a week later it died than another fish died there's only one fish left but i think it's dying it's staying still at the bottom of the tank like the other ones did before dying..i recently got a new tank before they all died but it started to swim weird before i got the tank..
I just got 4 nano fish today from a party. They were originally in a tiny fish bowl, but was able to find a bigger container to place them in. My mom won’t let me buy a real tank which is upsetting because, why allow me to have a pet if if forced to do the bare minimum? I wanna treat them right. - Anyways after a couple of hours I noticed the water was muddy (I think from food). They started gulping at the top and I originally thought they were hungry. After looking it up I realized they couldn’t breathe and that the water was bad. So I did a water change. They all seemed to like it. 3 of them are doing just fine but, one of them started crashing into the glass repeatedly. I’m scared he’ll die. Please help? Idk what else to do . My mom won’t let me buy anything else for them because, she says “they’ll die in a week anyways”
You need to visit and aquarium store for advice and supplies ASAP If your mom won’t let you spent any money you make have to give up the fish because they can’t live only on your live. What you need will not cost much.
This is what happend last time I brought some goldfish,After a few days,All the fish where doing the same,All right at the top gasping for oxgen,Mean while,I was wondering wft are the fish doing,About a day later,They all died,The air pump I did have was not working to great,This is why I brought a new pump,Works greats,See all the air pubbles pumping through,Im leave it like that for a week,Then buy some more fish after the fish tank has been sitting here for the last few years mostly collecting dust ever since
@@TheDelta07sev Hello! It’s been a month I cleaned the water and made sure to do all the necessary steps in order for my beta fish to be able to live comfortably in its 10 gallon tank and since then it’s still very energetic and seems to be doing very good
I don't know what to feed my fish my husband found them in an apartment and the only fish food we have was from these fish that we had bought in the past and they died it was those glow in the dark fish
I can't stand the noise of the filter, so I turned it really low and I wake up in the morning and I see this. fish gasping at the top. happens all the time, I am not sure when to do.
I do filterless tanks, I enjoy their peace and beauty and balance too , for that to work you need lots of live plants, be sure to have many fast growing ones too they clean the water, very quickly. You also need a houseplant : Pothos vine or peace lily is ideal, wash off the soil and dip it’s cleaned roots into the water , having it growing out of the tank, that will take care of the nitrites and you might not even need water change, I only need top ups due to evaporation, maybe 10% water change every 2-3months (this is Depending how much you feed and how many fish you have). I actually need to add some nitrates(plant fertilizer ) a few times a month , as this plant system is so efficient at cleaning the water, as I am not over feeding my fish. (Except with live foods like daphnea as they can continue living in the water and won’t spoil it like dead foods. Then to the simple extra oxygenation! You need a silent air pump with airstone and $3timer. This way you can make the bubbles run about 15-30min in the morning and few more hours in the evening, around the time the lights go out. I have my pump and timer in a wardrobe and have long hose to get the air, this way it’s even quieter in the room. that’s all you need. It’s peaceful zen for you and your fish. And the plants love the natural extra CO2 they get when the water is not being mixed all day and night. ----- This won’t work on most goldfish or moster-fish or bare tanks : they’re messy do need a powerful filter: because the size of the animals(and their poop) is big compared to the water and plant volume (in most aquariums. Hope this helps to go natural and remain oxygen rich while enjoying the peace of silence. The fish enjoy it for sure.
Heyy I have bought a pot and am having two fishes in it. Now both of them are on the surface What. Shall I do as there is no place for the oxygen filter in the tank that I have currently.
I don’t know what to do, I changed the water already yet he is still on the top of the tank gasping for air. I hope my goldfish don’t die I had him for many years : (

I recently got a betta fish 2 days ago and it started gulping air from the surface and I don’t know how to increase the oxygen
Take a water sample and video to you lfs asap
I believe that isn't uncommon in bettas, if I remember correctly they gasp at the surface naturally
Betta can breath air. They have a labarynth organ so they often choose to gulp some air. But shouldn't be doing it constantly

Do the air stones affect the filter? Would the bubbles get in the way?
An air stone will help the redox for the filter
i've got surface agitation, yet the clown is still gasping
