TESTIMONIALS
‘Started hitting the moves laid out in these courses the very next class...extremely uplifting to have such a quick improvement in my game’ - Houston, TX
‘I’m the only white belt in the academy doing these moves…I’m suddenly competing at a blue belt and above level…thanks Coach Tom’ - LA, California
‘Some of the best strategies you are going to see for control and submission’ - London, UK
‘The detailed way Prof Tom breaks down his moves into the absolute essentials is just next level for me. This is absolute gold‘ - Sydney, Australia
‘Most of the guys at my Academy, have about 60lbs on me, but since purchasing your ‘Kimura Attack system’ and ’14 days’ everything has changed. I feel much more confident, roll better and the guys on the mat have commented on the same. Thanks, Coach Tom’ - Dallas, TX
‘I know you have your names for your courses, but I’ve renamed them the ‘Zero to hero’ courses, I went from getting constantly owned, to now being completely dominant on the mat in no time at all’ - San Diego, California
‘I use the course material heaps, and just recently put it into action at a local comp, walked away with double gold. No one was more surprised than me! - Miami, Florida
‘As a new white belt, these classes have helped me so much, Prof Tom’s technique, the details, and his attitude. I love how Prof. Tom shows the ‘mistakes people make’ and then shows the correct way of doing things. The only one I have ever seen do this’ - New York, New York
Great videos, great instruction. I just watch them for hours…Melbourne, Australia
‘The instructional saved me big time at a recent comp, my opponent was def more experienced, but that was ok, coz I had Prof Tom’s video in my brain. Nailed it and scored gold’ - Colorado, Denver
‘All of it. Everything you show in your awesome videos are now my ‘go to techniques’. Thanks for your vids Prof, Tom’ - Houston, TX
I have extreme anxiety and today is my first day (i think) either way i have an "appointment" and im pretty nervous but also very excited! Wish me luck
Today's my first day! How's it going for you?
@@vesperchime4134 how was your first day?
@itsarmie3162 I loved it! Its awkward at first of course, and a bit nerve racking haha, but I really enjoyed it. Thank you for asking!
@@vesperchime4134 ayeee I just had my first one today (after asking you how yours was!) it was so good!!
@@vesperchime4134 you still at it?
Walking in that first day was the hardest part of the entire process so far for me. Hard work, I love it and never looked back. I started at age 49 one and a half years ago, and just got my blue belt. It has been a life changing experience for the better for me. Anyone thinking of it, please wait no more, today is the day for you! Peace
I hear you, I got my blue belt this year at the age of 47. I'm the oldest woman there by more than 10 years, which makes it as much a mental game as a physical one, but it's so good for me on so many levels. It really is life changing.
@@RenAtkins Great job, and awesome to hear. Another ju jitsu success story, well done!
This really motivated me. I’m 37 and thinking I’m too old so this has given me the push I needed. How often did you train pw to get your blue belt in 18 months?
@@outofpix3ls967 Thank you. I trained 3 to 4 times a week then. I'm about to get my purple belt. Now I train sometimes six days a week. I am totally addicted : ). I just turned 53.
That's awesome 😎 I'm 43 and was wondering if I was too old to progress in belts very quickly but already a blue belt... that's inspiring. Thank you
Started JJ back in 98. First day they beat the crap out of me. Never missed a day since.
My first day consisted of getting folded in half by a 62 year old brown belt. I'm still training for the rematch lol
"Hi, it's our first day at the gym"
*Walks in with black belt*
🤣🤣
First day of BJJ, when it's time to roll in the last 30 mins of class, tell each training partner you roll with that it's your first ever day. Rather than crush you, your training partner will go at 50% pace, and answer your questions that you no doubt will have.
Oh and don't be alarmed the next day with the amount of small bruises on you. Your body adapts pretty quickly.
I did my first BJJ class last week. 35 years old. Was terribly anxious before I went in and had put it off for months beforehand. My advice, go for it, best thing I’ve done in a long time, if you are humble and respectful you will get on just fine. The coaches want you to have a good experience, relax and enjoy it
Im 35 and have my first class this coming monday. So cool I came across your comment
@@yoyob44 Hope you have a great time
You guys have got the world by the throat in that you’re still relatively young. If you embrace the journey over the destination you’ll fall in love and you’ll be a black belt in about ten years. Congrats
34 and I’m ready to give it a shot.
Going to my first class today at 36 years old. Thanks for the advice and best of luck to all the new guys out there!
I started two months ago, it had a lot to do with how well you convey Jui-Jitsu. Thank you so much!
My pleasure!
I have one class in and I'm doing my research and this video was very uplifting and empowering. You've helped me make progress in shaping a positive mindset that will last.
Had my first Jiu-Jitsu session in over 12 years and boy did I get my a** kicked but was a very humbling experience and am looking forward to continuing this journey and improving
I was going to make the same kind of video. You did a great job! Will help so many people be less nervous and know what to expect 🙂
First class in one hour! Thanks for the vid!
3:00 The guy is like "Ohhhh, so we're not rolling?" 🙂🙂
This dude has the coolest vibe
Hello from Kentucky, and thanks for all the great content!!! 🤙
I've got my first lesson tomorrow. I've got that excited nervous feeling😊
Just did my first day. Worst part that took 60% of my energy was cardio at the beginning. Was about to black out
My first day I was ok as far as nerves. I'd trained since childhood and coached other combat arts/martial arts, so nerves were ok. Started drilling and I legit though I tore my groin about 3 minutes in on a back roll. The head professor to the gym saw it and was so kind taking me to the side and helping me stretch and do a few drills until the pain subsided. Then I was able to finish the class wtih a higher rank the professor partnered me up with. Fell for it ever since going on a year. I'm an older BJJ new guy but I appreciated and continue to appreciate my gym and how everyone is there to help on another, esp those just starting out. They legit care. Makes a big difference.
Great video Professor Tom. I'm actually in working on a video much like this for my website for people wanting to come try out classes🤙
My daughter started a month ago (she's 5). I'm starting today and your video relieved alot of my anxiety. Thank you so much for this and wish me luck here in Oklahoma, USA!! God bless!!
So basically just be a normal human being, thanks for the information start my first class tomorrow.
I can always hear the smile in his voice without even seeing his face 👍🏼
This is the perfect video to show my girlfriend in order to convince her to come roll!
Just left my first class. Gracie Jits in Holland MI. Cool vibes got strangled a few times and loved it. I’ll be back .
first thing on first day signing injuri waivor , thats some anxiety inducing stuff xD
First jiu jitsu class later today! Excited and nervous lol
How did these nine months treat you?
How's it going
Realistic, but welcoming. Good stuff.
My free trial class is today!
Great video! Just thinking of starting out myself. Thank you for the information.
I love this guy, he is so nice.
Love this guys attitude
I am 47 just did my first class, got tapped out 8 times😂😂😂. 5 by the black belts. Its all good. Its good to get out of that comfort zone.
Got my first class in 2 hours. I know a few people that train there. Hopefully I learn and have a great time.
And where are you know after 7 months?
Very nice! Keep up the good work 👏👏👏
Keep spreading the word
my first class is tommorow at mastermind mma acdemy in florida im nervous and excited at the same time
Here is my question: is BJJ effective against kangaroos over there?!
Gotta watch out for those roo-jitsu practitioners over there! See that video of the roo choking out another roo?
Ask loads of questions!
Tuesday is my 1st day and it’s nerve racking since I’m 46 and way out of shape
Absolutely Amazing
Just finished my first bjj class
I just don’t know what to do when I go against someone because I don’t know moves so I don’t know where to attack
Love your introduction. Wish I could join your class but unfortunately very far 🙂
Today is my first day. I have hella anxiety!!!
How was it? I’m thinking about doing it
How's it going
Thank you for this
Im starting my first BJJ class tomorrow afternoon. I wear glasses. How will that work out? I don't think grappling with glasses on your head is a good thing. Any suggestions?
Don’t wear them.
I want to go to this guy's gym
Is bjj really that good at street fight or no can somebody anwser
my gf is 35 kg needs training do u have anything for woman her size and do u ever sponsor ppl in need?
she is 4o yrs and been attacked multiple times because easy target it breaks my heart
@@PromisesAreMadeByLiars look up gracie combatives and women empowered. tthis would be the best place to start for pure self defence
@@PromisesAreMadeByLiars Do you guys live in adl? I'm her age and not much bigger, I train with Tom (I'm the camera man for the channel also) we'd love to see her on the mats! We have a bunch of ladies at the gym who all love it!

Do students ever panic and fight instead of applying what they are taught?
My first class is Thursday and Im Lowkey so nervous 😅😅😅
Wasnt my first class, but rather an introduction today. Saw the coach get thrown into chairs by the purple belt he was sparring with. And they kept sparring😂
Professor. You could move your studio to Cleveland, Ohio, and be rid of all the venomous snakes and spiders ;)
I'm going to walk in wearing every piece of safety equipment I can buy.
Im 42 and started a month ago.
In the beginning God created Heaven and Earth. He created humans too to have a relationship with Him. That's our purpose as humans that have a relationship with God. Sin, however, messed that up because it made us imperfect and imperfect creatures cannot have a relationship with a perfect and holy God. That's why we so oftentimes feel empty, unsatisfied and unaccomplished because we're not in relationship with the God we were created to be in a relationship with. But that's where Jesus comes in. Jesus is God's son and He came down to earth in human form to live the same life we do yet unlike us He never sinned. Jesus is perfect. Yet despite the fact He is perfect He died on the cross for our sins and sacrifice Himself for us. The punishment for our sins is death but because Jesus took that punishment for us if we put our faith in Him and receive Him as Lord and savior we can be reconciled to God and be restored to that relationship we were created to have. And we can be sure that Jesus is the Son of God because on the 3rd day God raised Him from the dead and in that He defeated death and the grave, proving that He can do the same for us if we put our faith in trust in Him. That's how you get to Heaven. That's how you become full in your heart. That's how you become reconciled to the God who created you.
Get over yourself.
I think it is funny how people think the term sensei is strange even though it just means teacher...being called professor is equally strange because that implies more of an academic role as a teacher at a university. Beats me.
I have my first bjj lesson in 3 hours
IT WAS WORTH IT
NO SHOES ON THE MAT!
Glowing like jesus
Don't walk in with your gi on (because you bring in dirt, they will say).
I’m going straight for the black belts neck on my first day. I’m going to own and rule that gym with an iron fist. It’s going to be a good day because I’m the best. 🥰
Wait, AND seafood?! So I can throw an opponent to the mat AND a shrimp on the barby?!
Mazagatti does not agree with this
We all know y don’t talk when the teacher is talking
Why should a white belt not be allowed to sit with the black belts? I would imagine someone who is white and try’s to surround themselves with a higher rank would be a good thing
😇
👊
yo you definitely smoke weed. you're way too chill.
Instructional failed I get sexual assaulted on my first day almost raped :(
You loved it! Probably went back for another session
Wtf lmao😂
