Hey Jimbo…I’ve used yellow myself. Definitely need no more than 2oz…I agree with a few ppl in the comments, serves no purpose than the wow factor. I could see using these colors to attract more customers and that’s about it. Good video tho, it was fun to watch.
I love using colored foam and it has turned into a great marketing tactic for my business. It always attracts attention from the neighbors and no one else in my market seems to be using it.
What's important to me is that the bond holding the road film is release so that it comes off without the aid of a pressure washer or manual intervention that could cause scratches. Even heavy degreasers don't work after dwelling on the paint.
Using a snowfoam through an ik foamer or sprayer i can use considerably less water and product than with a traditional pressure washer and cannon. Ergo, foam is purely for fun. And colour adds more fun to the process. I totally approve!
Hey Jimbo, what foam sprayer are you using there??? Ive bought the Blackline one ,but for 80 bucks, im definitely not impressed, looking for a better option???
I find it really useful with white cars. It's much easier to see the areas where even a thick foam has run off quickly, and do a quick reapply, compared to a traditional white foam.
I know Adam’s does it every so often. I think it hasn’t caught on because of fear of staining and maybe how much you have to use so it isn’t cost effective? I think it looks pretty cool.
This would be great for marketing purposes if you run a service. However, is good for commercial use? As in does it has any disadvantages because of the color compared to the regular white foam?
Coloured snowfoams from UK brand Alien Magic Car Care, are both effective removes grime, road salt and traffic film. Its pH neutral and doesn't stain anything. Thus its its not recommended to use on soft-tops or single stage paint. The development of their product are on another level.
My local self serve CarWash in Perry Hall, Md. has colored snow foams. Been using them for years and No staining to my vehicles or the concrete in their Bays.
Hey Jimbo The only time i wish i need a color one is when am doing a white car. So i could i know based on my norm if i missed anything on the hands on step. As you well pointed how foammy can it get? how much cleaning power does it have and how slick it is and I don care what end color is
Oh ok. So if you would recommend me some ceramic soaps and high ph soaps, which would you recommend, because I value your opinion, you know what works and you know what to never purchase again after your test phases...
My concern would be that the colored product wouldn't be the greatest snow foam thickness and cleaning product... so my question would be... is it possible to get the best of both worlds by doing something like using a very thick foaming snow foam like 1 or 2 ounces of say megafoam or diy incredible suds, and then adding 2-3oz of the colored foam?
I think it has potential, but it friends on how it's marketed. Adam's has kind of started to go the way of Chemical Guys where they're more marketing focused. But if the product works well as a pure wash and just so happens to have a cool color that's harmless, i think it could catch on. Try brighter colors like orange or yellow instead of blue and green.
Some “ceramic soaps” are actually just “ceramic safe” and are actually high pH which would explain why it seems less hydrophobic, not saying this is the case but I’ve seen this multiple times. If it’s high foam that is a good indication it’s a higher pH “ceramic safe” which won’t make the water bead and may even make it bead less.
@@autodetailingpodcast I gotcha. Huh!! Yeah I wondered if someone ceramic soaps are being sold as a soap that’s good at cleaning ceramic coated cars, that cleans the coating and allows the coating to perform better. Either way it seems like odd marketing.
Because any self respecting diy'er, pro detailer, or enthuiast doesnt give a crap about colored snow foam. It offers exactly 0% benefit to detiling a car. What am i, an eight year old? Seriously. Lol. When adams did theirs i said the same thing. Its cool for youtube i suppose, but thats it. Nope
Neighbour looks at him and thinks what the hell is he doing now, i have a pink stream outside my garage 😂😂

Yes, this!

He’s using an MJJC V3 😊
Yup - this one amzn.to/478O1pf - I’ve been super happy with it.
Wash on Wheels supplies has had colored foam concentrates available for a while now. Fun to use for sure.
I think a prewash like bilt hamber that was super green would be amazing! Way less chance of staining things. Like brushes or wash pads.
Colored foam has always been popular in tunnel washes.
Colored foam is fun! I have the same three and never used them… yet.

I agree. I think price is a big factor. I do wonder if it was around the same cost of people would opt for it instead of regular soap.
But you can not diluted is allready to use 16oz for car😢

As a trail of pink foam runs all the way out of the industrial park 😂
😂😂 beat me to it
Foam is always fun.
Where can I find this colors soap foam?
Hey Jimbo

That’s a great point.
Some soaps get in the door jams and stain the rubber/ plastic in there.
so does the colored snow foam stain concrete/asphalt?
This one did not.
Which soaps with ceramic protection would you recommend?
I don’t like soaps with protection. I stick to either pH neutral or a higher ph soap.
Oh ok. So if you would recommend me some ceramic soaps and high ph soaps, which would you recommend, because I value your opinion, you know what works and you know what to never purchase again after your test phases...
Purple? Curious to see how combining the pink and blue would look

Good for bender reveals

Have you tested random ceramic soaps in a bucket wash? I tried a couple and seems to make the paint less hydro phobic, any ideas to why?

Can you just use food coloring ?
Possibly. I haven’t tried that.
I knew i would find this question as i kept reading the comments! Food grade colours should be ok?
Whit adams i have to use the full 16 oz i can not dilute i have ro used straight from the bottle
Ya - that’s why I wanted to see if it was possible to make them dilutable
That's what they say but I've been diluting Adams 4-1 and it's plenty colorful still. Gonna dilute it more when I'm through this batch in my ik's
Come on Jimbro, tell us what the good ceramic was on that hood!!
Coming soon…just finished shooting the video late last week.
@@autodetailingpodcast Awesome
Maybe the pink pops because of the color of the car?
Could be. I didn’t think of that.
Super good content 👌
Thanks
Where can u buy that soap
Coming early next year.
Where you get that foam
i made it for myself
If i used colored foam, my neighbors would call the environmental police thinking its some heavy chemical lol
Is that a Casio GM5600/5610U I see? ⏰
Yup
@@autodetailingpodcast earned my sub 🏅
There is another brand dyno but they sell it for small bottles only😢
Gender reveal 😂😂😂
Haha - best idea yet!
Of course you like the pink better 😦

It did make it a little more fun. But I see your point, especially if it’s way more expensive.
The same for the fragrance added in the shampoo.
Detailing products start to be like the makeup for woman 😅
It's just colored you do have to be so strong. No one said it added benefits.
How you judging colors with sunglasses on?
The same way I would without them.
Gender reveal ideas there Jimbo 😂
1 week later all your trim is pink... 😆
Could you imagine…hahah
i cant see anything good coming from having colored dyes in anything used for car detailing.
It’s a lot of fun and didn’t harm anything
Good for gender reveals lol
A very good way to demonstrate and trace and show off your pollution of the environment huh.
I don't care how colorful these foam soaps are. I would not use them if they were not biodegradable. We have many other options to save our Earth.
🙄🙄🙄🙄 here we go
