Thank you so much for this video!! We are planning to fall pregnant in the next few months and I'm a dressage rider. Just wanted reassurance that one can keep riding and it is doable. Thank you for the great tips!
This has helped me so much! I felt so on the fence about riding at all during pregnancy before i seen this
Hi Jamie, great to hear this video has helped you with your pregnant riding journey!
How far along are you in your pregnancy now? 😊
I think it’s entirely up to the individual but I would say you really need to be riding a bomb proof horse that you trust with yours and baby’s life and even then there are risks of falls I wouldn’t do cantering atleast not fast anyway but I don’t see riding in an indoor spook free school I wouldn’t hack out on roads or anywhere because there is that higher risk of spooking xxx
Good points Patsy! It definitely comes down to that trust you have with your horse, doesn't it. Thanks for your comment 🙂
This is amazing! I’m 3 months pregnant and everyone told me to stop ridding but if I stick to my dressage work in the indoor I’ll be just fine.
Hi Olivia, glad this video has helped & given you the confidence to continue to ride safely in the indoor until you feel ready to have a break & enjoy just being pregnant!
I’m assuming you have a lovely, reliable horse like I have? That will make it much easier to get back on post pregnancy as well 😊
Wishing you all the best on your journey 😍

Good question David! Since this 'Tips for Horse Riding while Pregnant' video I have shifted the way I share my videos. Over the last few years I have been sharing content via Facebook live videos. I have uploaded the links to a few of the earlier videos on my website dressageplus.com.au/unstoppable-equestrian-video-blog/ & you can watch the more recent ones on my facebook page facebook.com/dressageplusepc under the video section. :-)
for those who don 't know she had a girl called Chloe
I’m 10 weeks and 6 days and in a few weeks my grandparents are going back to the navajo reservation and I want to ride my horse black bc it’s been a year since I’ve riden him
Congratulations Stoni on your pregnancy, exciting times ahead! It is a personal decision if you want to start riding again, I guess you need to weigh up your horses temperament & behavior, your riding level etc & how safe it is to start to ride again while pregnant etc. If you choose to wait until after your pregnancy it may feel like a while, but remember 9-12 months is not that long a time in regards to the amount of years you can ride for!
Let me know if I can support you in any other ways.
Can a pregnant person still work or be around stables with horses?
Hi Amarilys, I guess it depends on the situation, persons experiences & horses temperament.
I personally think it’s ok if the rider is experienced & the horses they are around are generally sensible & calm.
Obviously it is up to the individual person& property owner to make the call.
Hope this helps 😊
I’m 16 weeks pregnant and I’ve grown up riding and balance has always come natural to me and now more than a walk I get unbalanced and have done everything to try and fix it why is that ?
Hi Miranda, congratulations! Very exciting times ahead for you! I don’t know enough about pregnancy & am not medically trained so not the best person to answer your balance question sorry. You might be best to talk to your doctor about it. Our bodies change so much during pregnancy & everyone is different so I would suggest listening to your body & going with your instinct when it comes to riding & when to stop etc.
Wish you all the best on your journey & would love to see baby photos once your bundle of joy arrives!
It’s my first pregnancy and in 2nd trimester. And i have never riden a horse before. Can i do it now under supervision?
Hello, unfortunately, I cannot answer this for you. If you feel comfortable & under safe & knowledgeable instruction, with a professional riding instructor, with quiet & well-educated horses then it could be possible. It is obviously up to you how comfortable & safe you feel. I would suggest making sure you are well informed about the potential risks of something going wrong as horses are unpredictable at times!
@@dressageplus6353 thankyou so much for replying. 🌸
So I’m cruise and want to be safe if anything
Sorry, I just saw your message Cheyenne. Are you still pregnant or has your little bundle arrived? Did you ride while pregnant or take the time to yourself?
