      Good question David! Since this 'Tips for Horse Riding while Pregnant' video I have shifted the way I share my videos. Over the last few years I have been sharing content via Facebook live videos. I have uploaded the links to a few of the earlier videos on my website dressageplus.com.au/unstoppable-equestrian-video-blog/ & you can watch the more recent ones on my facebook page facebook.com/dressageplusepc under the video section. :-)

    I think it’s entirely up to the individual but I would say you really need to be riding a bomb proof horse that you trust with yours and baby’s life and even then there are risks of falls I wouldn’t do cantering atleast not fast anyway but I don’t see riding in an indoor spook free school I wouldn’t hack out on roads or anywhere because there is that higher risk of spooking xxx

      Good points Patsy! It definitely comes down to that trust you have with your horse, doesn't it. Thanks for your comment 🙂

    It’s my first pregnancy and in 2nd trimester. And i have never riden a horse before. Can i do it now under supervision?

    • @dressageplus6353

      Hello, unfortunately, I cannot answer this for you. If you feel comfortable & under safe & knowledgeable instruction, with a professional riding instructor, with quiet & well-educated horses then it could be possible. It is obviously up to you how comfortable & safe you feel. I would suggest making sure you are well informed about the potential risks of something going wrong as horses are unpredictable at times!

    Can a pregnant person still work or be around stables with horses?

    • @dressageplus6353
      @dressageplus6353 3 роки тому

      Hi Amarilys, I guess it depends on the situation, persons experiences & horses temperament. I personally think it’s ok if the rider is experienced & the horses they are around are generally sensible & calm. Obviously it is up to the individual person& property owner to make the call. Hope this helps 😊

    I’m 16 weeks pregnant and I’ve grown up riding and balance has always come natural to me and now more than a walk I get unbalanced and have done everything to try and fix it why is that ?

    • @dressageplus6353
      @dressageplus6353 4 роки тому

      Hi Miranda, congratulations! Very exciting times ahead for you! I don’t know enough about pregnancy & am not medically trained so not the best person to answer your balance question sorry. You might be best to talk to your doctor about it. Our bodies change so much during pregnancy & everyone is different so I would suggest listening to your body & going with your instinct when it comes to riding & when to stop etc. Wish you all the best on your journey & would love to see baby photos once your bundle of joy arrives!

    I’m 10 weeks and 6 days and in a few weeks my grandparents are going back to the navajo reservation and I want to ride my horse black bc it’s been a year since I’ve riden him

    • @dressageplus6353
      @dressageplus6353 4 роки тому

      Congratulations Stoni on your pregnancy, exciting times ahead! It is a personal decision if you want to start riding again, I guess you need to weigh up your horses temperament & behavior, your riding level etc & how safe it is to start to ride again while pregnant etc. If you choose to wait until after your pregnancy it may feel like a while, but remember 9-12 months is not that long a time in regards to the amount of years you can ride for! Let me know if I can support you in any other ways.

    Hi Danielle, I was wondering if in one Dressage Plus episode you could talk about dealing with mindset around loading a horse that doesn't like the float? My mare refuses to go in the float which stresses me because I need to get her on to go for comps and lessons and she uses my stress against me and now I hate the float as much as she does. Help!

    • @dressageplus6353

      Hi Julia, what a great topic idea, I will create the next video series around how you can use and change your mindset to help achieve easy and relaxed float loading. Thanks for the great idea!

    I'm pretty happy how 2017 went and 2018 is going to be awesome for us, 2017 I didn't get out and compete as much as I would of liked but I had a new awesome role to fill which did impact my ride time and made me think outside the box to find the time and motivation even when I was a bit tired :D I embraced looking after my grandson 3 day's a week ( I had forgotton how much work they are lol) then running our business ect But overall it gave me the time to really look at how we are training and set some goals. I've found an awesome dressage coach who I hope to have regular lessons with and help us through our journey, so a great start to 2018 with new coach, new float and reliable tow car :D I'm ready to travel with confidence to more comps or to clinics a bit further away from us. I also started a new mindset last year that get's stronger all the time, I say no a lot and have put my riding as a priority rather then doing what others want or suggest and this has been working out great.

    Well this maybe not much too others but today my instructor said we are going to do sit trot without stirrups :O I've done this before very very briefly with this horse and done it a lot with my previous older horse for years with no issues, but my brain and gut did not trust myself or my horse to not have a hissy fit and shoot off like he can on the odd occasion lol I just thought to myself well Kim if you don't do it now you will keep putting it off. I loved it and felt all my fear of this fade away within the first few steps of trot. My confidence just went right up and even if he had a little arab moment I feel I would be fine, but the thing is the more I trust him and go out of my comfort zone the more he is trusting me. Thankyou for all your video's they are very helpful :)
