A year later and this video is still doing good work, thank you so much for all of your incredibly informative videos. Helping a novice adult rider like me for the last year, much appreciated girl! 🙏🏻❤️
I am an older rider at 63. My friend and I ride in the fields/woods near our barn. We also ride on the dirt roads. We always wear orange vests to make us easier to see.
Always fun videos! I’ve gotten back into riding after a many year hiatus (english) and several friends finally convinced me to try breeches and holy cow what a comfort difference! I’ve never worn yoga pants...and wearing tight pants definitely takes some confidence level when you’re one of two guys at the barn but hey, I’m sold! I could watch these all day simply because your horses, barn, and whole environment look so nice! Wish I was in your neck of the woods for lessons! Thanks for the videos!
@@JSHorsemanship Since realistically I’m just riding and jumping for enjoyment and have no real plans to show or compete, I figured comfort was worth being an outlier! Do you do anything to help keep yours clean? I know obviously darker colors won’t show dirt/slobber as much but I was just curious about the lighter colors.
They get dirty regardless of what I do 😆 I just try to not wear lighter colors unless it is for an event or filming. I usually wear darker colors for everyday use
@@JSHorsemanship Fair enough! You’re out with the horses way more than I am too so it makes sense. Your video on what to do if you don’t have much time to ride was also a favorite of mine. Currently I’m limited to once or twice a week so working with them everyday sounds amazing! Thanks for chatting by the way!
Im beginner and i love ur channel. I follow since a long time .. i had no horse as it’s expensive for me. But i didn’t give up my dream , I put an add on ebay in Germany .so Now I found my riding teacher and a horse, i help her cleaning the stable and she teaches me how to ride, we r practicing English riding. As a boy its hard for me to keep my legs contact with the horse specially in trott and gallop hope u can guide me. No.2 my thighs and my buttocks muscles are so weak sometimes idk why. But my teacher is saying im learning very fast that motivated me to become a more good rider🥺 it would be my dream to go in championship if I could 🥺🥺 Thank you so much for your videos for guiding us.
In marching band we wear gloves to protect our instruments from sweat and oils on our hands, and in the summer I usually use batting gloves. Do you think those gloves would also work for riding during the summer?
You can use whatever gloves you feel comfortable in unless your competing:) If you plan to compete you want to check to make sure the gloves you’re wearing are allowed in the show you’re entering.
amazing videos. I do have a question though. I've watched your videos on trotting. I tried trotting, and I almost fell off each time the horse bounced. Is it really just about going up and down with the horse? I tried it, but I couldn't get it. Luckily the horse stopped lol
I'm not a professional but you have to find the pace. it is a little different on a horse and a pony but the easiest to explain is if you ride a pony you will need get up faster. also try to not go too high up.
@@jaderogers8134 Thank you! I also spoke to an equestrian from instagram before and she said the same 😊 I’m also 19 but I may start at a later year since covid isn’t handled well yet in our country. Have a nice ride!
I must be too late, I'm 32 and I just started in August 😛. I would imagine most stables would have an adult intro to riding group. You really can take it up at any age

Well done and put together in a way that this "new-to-the-equestrian-world-dad" can understand to support his daughter.

Does age matter to become an equestrian 🐎?
Question: Is it too late to just start riding at 20 years old?😅
i'm 19 and thinking about starting as well! Everyone I've spoken have all said the same thing "its never to late."
