My assumption is these same products/brand are available in most of the country and I wanted to be relevant to as many folks as possible.
@@LawnsAcrossAmerica Don't be jealous you didn't produce such an informative video yourself. This world doesn't need haters like you. I found this vid very helpful, sorry.
I've had a terrible issue with summerpatch over the last 5-6 years. It appears in early July every year and destroyes my front yard. I've use several apps of propiconazole each year, applied at the rate listed on the bottle. No luck. I just purchased disease ex and will be throwing down down the first application today, followed by several intervals. Fingers crossed. I always have the nicest lawn in the neighborhood until July. Then, all hell breaks lose.
luna I have the exact same issue! I start out the season with an amazing lawn with tons of compliments and by the end of July everyone asks what happened. Then I spend the whole fall and spring working my tail off (as well as a ton of money) to get it back. Then repeat the cycle. It’s starts off as grey leaf spot and before you know it it’s melted out. I’ve got 20000 sf of tall fescue. I’ve probably spent $350 this year on most of the fungicides mentioned above, but here it comes again, just like every other year. Anyone have any suggestions?
exaclty what i needed,,, tomorrow,,, I had this for years and never have been able to get under control,, and yes the water does sit in these areas, the lawn is sloped to drain toward the street .
The diseaseEx is what I used about a month ago when I notice a spot of brown patch coming in hard and fast in my emerald zoysia. It knocked it out fast and the zoysia has just about completely recovered in that section since then.
The diseasex granular you mentioned worked for me last year. I had a couple of areas in my lawn that were thin and getting worse. I put down the granular and in 2-3 weeks the problem was gone.
I used that Bayer Advanced on my lawn for a fungus I got last year and it sprayed out way too fast. As a result I had way more die back than I should have had and that part of my lawn is having a hard time coming back this year. I don't think I'll using that product any more and if I do I'll put it in a pump up sprayer and spray it that way. By the way, that carbonx did a great job on darkening up your lawn. I can't wait to get some. Unfortunately you don't have any in stock right now.
I’m using this strategy with Scott’s disease ex and liquid propiconazole. The propiconazole I’m using is a generic at 14.3% concentration. The bioadvanced is only 2.4%. The Scott’s disease ex has the same concentration as heritage and is actually a little cheaper by the pound. I’m in central NC with tall fescue and super susceptible to brown patch once the humidity kicks in.
Can you do a video on how to recover from a fungus infection? Brown patch swept through our newer neighborhood last fall, and by the time I recognized what was happening and stopped it with fungicide, the damage was done to my 3yo perfect sod. I did cut out and reseeded maybe 50 of the 1-foot dead circles, and replaced others with plugs from other areas of the yard, but you can tell something bad happened, as the sod is now all mottled and pitted.
Can you explain the reason as to why you shouldn’t cut prior to this application and also wait 2-3 days after cutting? Thanks keep up the great informative content!
Think its because of lawn stress and clippings. Cutting and adding fungicide on the same day may stress the lawn too much. Also when the clippings are on the lawn the granules may not reach where it needs to go right away.
This product has been great for my lawn. I have a little under 2600 sqft bermuda. So since the bottle will treat 5000, I'll shake the bottle real well, then open it and pour out 16 oz into a separate container. So now, I know that the 16oz I have left should stretch my sub 2600 sqft. It's a bit extra step, I know but I'm very technical so it keeps me sane.
So I need to put down the second application of the starter fertilizer and second application of prodiamine tomorrow. Can that be applied with both of the products, the disease x granular and the fungus control spray?
Allyn, previously you recommended putting down the granular then waiting one week and using the Bayer. Is this still the recommendation or can we do then back to back?
So no need to water in if we do this two step? Disease ex you mentioned I think 1/4” but not needed if spraying the bio advanced as that can act as the “watering In”. My only concern- there’s for sure not 1/4” going down when spraying the bio. You have to walk very quick through yard based on the coverage they say you Get. Still wondering if I should put out 1/4” via sprinklers after all this.
Awesome vids man!! I recently purchased my first property and it is brand new and which means that the turf is going to need extra care so it doesn’t die. Found that Scott's EX on sale some how on Amazon for $11! Loaded up the cart for the year. Thought about it and said better get some for next year and hour later...back up to $18.99!!! 😳
Having an all organic lawn, what do these two fungicides do to the soil microbes ? Had brown patch last year in St. Augustine and read that lowering the cut height might help.
Cut at the highest setting on your mower and never remove more than 1/3 of the grass blade length in a single cutting. The more you mow, the heathier it will grow.
Can you use the Scotts DiseaseEx at the same time as the Fungus control spray or should you wait a week in between apps to alternate between the products?
Ive got grey leaf spot already established in my st Aug lawn. Ive applied just diesese ex about 4 weeks prior no results. I put Heritage G down first week of May and then Scott’s down two weeks later because I got nervous the Heritage might’ve washed out with all the rain. The last couple of days I’ve noticed disease creeping in still.
We've been getting alot of rain here in Ohio but the temperatures are not high...about 72 or below. Will this still cause fungus in the lawn or do the temperatures need to be higher like 80's and up for fungus to begin?
Allen i sprayed the bayer propiconazole this weekend but my lawn is only about 1,928sqft so i did the math for oz/1000 and used my ortho dial and spray to apply the fungicide to be more accurate. Will this mess up the effectiveness of tge product?
I’m having horrible problems with what I believe is take all root rot, what’s the best thing I can do? I have st. Augustine and live in south Texas. I already tried peat moss, heritage G, and eagle and the grass is still yellow and frail. What else can I do Al?

Hello! I am new to this but and fast becoming obsessed. I am confident I have a fungus that was most likely due to bad cultural habits, dull blade (actually I discovered my blade was on upside down believe it or not), over watering, over fertilizing, etc. I applied the Heritage C and then a few days later the Eagle 20 EW and I noticed a that most of the lawn turned yellow a day or so after the Eagle liquid sprayer application. I thought maybe I didn't mix the ratio correctly? Well about two weeks go by and no noticeable improvement. After further research I discovered I may have' take all rot root'. So I applied about a 1/2 inch of peat moss over the entire lawn, waited a little over a week and then and applied the Bayer RTS and again I noticed a lot of the lawn blades are yellow again the day after the Bayer application? I made sure to do it in the morning and on a day that was not expected to reach 85 at all. I live in Houston, Texas. I have a 2,800 square foot yard and didn't even use half of the bottle of the Bayer. But it honestly looks worse now. I have the Scott's Disease Ex but haven't applied it yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks
Hey Allyn, I live in Iowa and have KBG. Description on the bag says this is good for 30 days. Is your bulletproof strategy good for one application per year, or should I reapply again 30-60days later? Thanks!
Great video Allan. I've been using that fungus spray myself for a couple of years and can vouche that it works great. Your lawn looks frickin fabulous as always!
Congrats on your new home!! Start right here ua-cam.com/video/JjnA1TI8Pxg/v-deo.html a good mower will be a solid investment to make right away! Plenty of time left this season to enjoy the mow!
Josh, I had the same issue. Brown Patch absolutely destroyed my lawn. Tried 2 apps of propiconizal with minimal results. Grabbed diseaseX from lowes and that worked great.
First time user of a garden hose sprayer and had each section timed out but the bottle emptied before I got done with 1000 square foot. Started the second bottle with the intention to spray quicker but both really emptied before the 2 minute mark. What the heck did I do wrong and will 15k sq ft of this product sprayed onto 4k sq ft of yard damage damage it?
Hey Allyn! Thanks for the informative video. I'm having an issue with what I think is brown spot. I noticed it was really bad about 5 weeks ago. Went with the bulletproof strategy at the curative rates (both DiseaseEX and BioAdvanced). It seemed to work great and cleared it up! Even followed up in about 2 weeks with the DiseaseEX at the preventati ve rate. A week after that...I'm seeing it start again. What else can I do?
brown spots can be caused by alot of things, not just disease. Check out your local county extension website and see if they have any alerts out for your area.
i used this 'bullet proof 1 year ago starting in mid may (northeast ohio) and every 3 weeks thru September. I was still hit with fungus. This year I started w curative rate on 6/8 of the Bioadvanced....6/16 discoloration that ended up being fungus. placed a curative rate of Scotts diseaseEx and am crossing my fingers......I'm at a loss on what to do
Love all the videos and your book!! I live in NY and have gotten a ton of rain this year. I was late to identify leaf spot and browning out. I now have blades of grass pulling out when I mow and have lost that "Green". I sprayed Bioadvanced and used Scott's Disease Ex late. Any advice on how to get rid of this fungus? I have no irrigation (just rain) and fert with milorganite, mow twice a week and mulch. I can bag if need be. Thanks!
Hey Allyn, could you do a comparison between Milorganite and Purely Organic Lawn Food. Ryan Knorr had Purely as an alternative for Milo but not a side by side comparison.
Anyone know why you can’t cut grass prior to putting down the fungus stuff? I noticed he put the spray down early the next morning to avoid the heat. But does the hate by the afternoon damage or ruin the application. If it’s gonna be over 85 later that day.
Hey Allyn , I know is out of the topic but is it ok to overseed a sod grass . I heard it’s bad option. I have 3 yrs on my new build home and I want to re seed. Is it ok or what you recommend
Hey Allyn, can you wait for a week between both apps? I put down my Scott’s today, but won’t have time for the other until later in the week. Also,is there a waiting period for mowing?
I hear, cutting your grass high will help prevent fungus growth. What is the theory behind this? It would seem that the grass would stay damp longer with talll grass
Nice to be able to just run to the store and grab these for sure. Once you become more comfortable spraying and praying, you can buy propocanizol concentrate quite inexpensively online and it'll go a long ways and save you some money. Not really the product you would learn to spray with though, stay away from spraying pesticides if you're not confident.
@@TheLawnCareNut the best advice I can give you is whenever they're in you're ear, rotate the bud forward and then pull that ear clip back. I also use the rubber ear piece. Not a fan of the foam ear plug ones
yes for sure I switched to the rubber and they are better! Jake The Lawn Kid has some and he keeps the neck strap in front. I tried that and it didn't work for me.
I know this question isn't fungus related but I need some suggestions on which grass type to go with in Hawaii. I've started a small section of centipede grass but I'm considering restarting with bermuda. I've considered centipede since its low maintenance and chokes out weeds. Although bermuda is slightly higher maintenance, it does seem to possibly meet my needs of a greener lawn, withstand more traffic, and fill in quickly. Any quick suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Love your videos!

Can I put this down on a newly seeded lawn? My lawn is about 2 weeks old and I have a mushroom outbreak. I've been considering cutting back a bit on the watering cycle, but you say keep it up for 30days no matter what.
Fungicides won't work for mushrooms. They are a different type of fungus. mushrooms are an indication of organic matter in the soil. Best to live with them as you lawn becomes more healthy your soil will adjust and the mushrooms will subside .
LCN thanks for the response! That really puts me at ease. This is my third lawn reno at my house due to lack of maintenance and losing the battle to the weeds and undesirable grasses, but now that I've found your channel and all the helpful content you provide. I am confident this will be the last lawn reno.. (at my current home at least).. keep up the good work...

One thing I’ve noticed around my area is a lot of common Bermuda grass in a cool season lawns. Most people mistake it for crab grass for some reason. Early spring there lawns start to green up then the Bermuda is still dormant. They say well I’ve gotta get something for all this crabgrass. There again know what your treating so I have to tell them it’s common Bermuda. Only thing I have found to treat it is PBI Gordon’s over the top, Bayer Bermudagrass control several apps or Pylex! This is an episode in its self. In the early spring late fall I’ve seen people treat there lawns with glyphosate kills the weeds not Bermuda as long as it’s dormant. I live in transitional zone. I’ve been killing Bermuda with glyphosate then using a piece of sod to cover the area. Do you have a video or tips for this thanks again for all the help Allen

Thanks!
I had Dollar spot fungus/ Brown patch fungus in my kentucky blue grass and got rid of it with Twin Pine brand 12-12-12 fertilizer.
Allyn, you recommended to apply these two products in spring going into summer. What if I wanted to throw these down right now?
I want to know where you got that landscaping curbing around those palms with the mulch in the middle...
Great video Allan. I've been using that fungus spray myself for a couple of years and can vouche that it works great. Your lawn looks frickin fabulous as always!
thanks bro!
Just purchased a new home in northeast indiana. Builders planted Kentucky blue grass. Any suggestions or videos to reference? Thanks!
Congrats on your new home!! Start right here ua-cam.com/video/JjnA1TI8Pxg/v-deo.html a good mower will be a solid investment to make right away! Plenty of time left this season to enjoy the mow!
Got Brown Patch last year on my TTTF, will definitely be following this plan this year.
thrower down!
Josh, I had the same issue. Brown Patch absolutely destroyed my lawn. Tried 2 apps of propiconizal with minimal results. Grabbed diseaseX from lowes and that worked great.
Do u recommend it being very important for my cool season mix lawn
Can fungicide be applied to lawns that were overseeded
READ. THE. LABELS.
does it matter what time of day to lay these products down?
Bio Advanced Hose End Sprayer fungus control is not in my store at stock! Sad
Can I use a fungicide over seed?
Congrats on 250K, Allyn!
thanks bro!!
Hey Allyn! Thanks for the informative video. I'm having an issue with what I think is brown spot. I noticed it was really bad about 5 weeks ago. Went with the bulletproof strategy at the curative rates (both DiseaseEX and BioAdvanced). It seemed to work great and cleared it up! Even followed up in about 2 weeks with the DiseaseEX at the preventati
ve rate. A week after that...I'm seeing it start again. What else can I do?
If I already have some brown spots I i apply this and it help it ? Sorry if it’s a dumb question
brown spots can be caused by alot of things, not just disease. Check out your local county extension website and see if they have any alerts out for your area.
The Lawn Care Nut thank you for replying. Also, it’s would it be to late for me to apply your bullet proof application ?
Wow, that color is unbelievably good, i have Floratam too and didnt know it could get that dark!! Proof of carbonx and n-ext products together.
i used this 'bullet proof 1 year ago starting in mid may (northeast ohio) and every 3 weeks thru September. I was still hit with fungus. This year I started w curative rate on 6/8 of the Bioadvanced....6/16 discoloration that ended up being fungus. placed a curative rate of Scotts diseaseEx and am crossing my fingers......I'm at a loss on what to do
I was told synthetic fungicide would kill the good n bad fungus n microbes. How do you keep your soil so healthy?
Not only is that lawn in mint condition, but you have a pretty truck my friend!
thanks! I love the Tundra.
Do you know how to get rid of Nostoc algae?
Should I use both products every month or use one product one month and the other product the next month all summer to prevent brown patch?
you can go either way you choose but should not need more than a couple apps
great content Allyn! all signal, love it
Does leaving the grass clipping increase the disease possibility or probability? Thanks
if disease is present you want to remove them for sure.
Hey Allyn , I know is out of the topic but is it ok to overseed a sod grass . I heard it’s bad option. I have 3 yrs on my new build home and I want to re seed. Is it ok or what you recommend
sure you can overseed in the fall time and do well.
What’s the best way to repair lawn from round-up over spray?
Finally made the switch to the Isotunes. You won't want to use any other headphones now. How are you liking them?
They get the job done. Still figuring out how to keep them in my ears
@@TheLawnCareNut I'm with you on that one. I would think that would make them fall out a lot easier
Can I use Honor Guard as a replacement for the Bio Advanced?
yes you sure can!
My baby boy LCN in training, Oliver, will be 11 weeks tomorrow. My oldest is almost 5, but she's not into lawn stuff too much, but picks dandelions for me every morning!
Growing a lawn together is what it's all about!
@@TheLawnCareNut For sure. Hubby and daughter do the veggie garden. I get to do the grass, something I never thought I'd find interesting until I found you. Thanks for the inspiration and motivation!
Prograss EC and Prostar 70 WG , works great with your chicken manure .
i used this 'bullet proof ' method 1 year ago starting in mid may (northeast ohio) and every 3 weeks thru September. I was still hit with fungus. This year I started w curative rate on 6/8 of the Bioadvanced....6/16 discoloration ...by 6/21 that ended up being fungus. placed a curative rate of Scotts diseaseEx and am crossing my fingers......I'm at a loss on what to do
Can I put this down on a newly seeded lawn?
I know this isn’t the topic of this video but I’m in the Midwest region of the US (Chicago Suburbs) and I can not find Milorganite anywhere. But I do find some, it’s at an inflated price. When my local Home Depot’s would sell at no more than $10 per big bag. Now all I can find is a small five pound bag for 6-7 dollars.
Any advice guys? I’m aiming to do an app of it within a two weeks.
Go to Menards and get their knockoff. It works fine.
