    Omg Gurl. Im from Texas and i can honestly say THANK YOU for this recipe!! My mom used to make desert every night after dinner and she would whip this up in a flash and it was so good! Ive been scaling this down for my family and using a box mix but could not figure out the frosting!! Mom used to poke a few hols w fork b4 placing frosting!! That was pure yum!! But my mom passed b4 i could ask recipe she used to say next time next time...lol
    So thank you!! Your Awesome!!

      I Was Given This Recipe in The Early 70s...I Lost It Somehow....I Have Seen Several Versions of It.....They Were Good...BUT.....I Remember It Had Buttermilk in It.....But, The Others Called For Butter and Milk....YOUR RECIPEThank IS THE ONE I REMEMBER....I JUST PUT IT IN THE OVEN.....This Cake Actually Dissolves in Your Mouth !!!!! THANK YOU !!!

    I made this for the first time never made any homemade cake before and this was amazing so good my husband loved it he said it was the best cake I ever made so thank you for the recipe would highly recommend it

    For the cake:
    •256g all-purpose flour
    •430g granulated sugar
    •75g cocoa powder
    •2 teaspoons baking soda
    •1 teaspoon salt
    •2 large eggs
    •(1 cup) 240g buttermilk
    •(1 cup) 236g warm water
    •(1/3 cup) 72g Vegetable oil
    •1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Hands down moist and delicious. I cut the recipe in half and baked for 12mins and came out great. Not tooo sweet. Great woth glass of milk. Yummm!

    Yum! Looks like the best cake ever.
    A true Texas sheet Cake actually has pecans, which are indigenous throughout the south. Walnuts are indigenous to the northeast, and along the Eastern coast. That said I grew up on cake with walnuts (but learned differently when I served in Texas). 😁 Can't wait to eat this.

    Ive never used buttermilk in this cake & have made Texas sheet cake so many times. You can use milk or cream. Still turns out moist & delicious

    I made this. It was delicious! My frosting came out much thicker. I think it cooled and possibly I used too much powered sugar. Idk. That said, it was a success! Thank you!

    That look delicious I want to make this for the party and I be using the hefty disposable pan 13/9 do you think i can make it a day before Nd travel time 3 hours would that be ok.

    This cake is delicious, I have made it twice now. Wonder why when I take it out to cool on the rack it dips down in one spot. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

      either uneven or there was a bubble...so once it started cooking, it popped and dropped...tap the sheet lightly on the counter to pop the air bobbles, for even cooking

      Depends on the blend. It'd have to be one that is designed to be a 1:1 replacement.

      Baking powder contains baking soda. You need the combination of both to have the right balance of acid and bicarbonate.

    You forgot the cinnamon. That is what sets a Texas sheet cake apart from a chocolate sheet cake.

    I'm so sorry about this comment but i hate the american measurement 2 cups really? Coffee cup, or water glass or wine glass what kind of glass? You guys need to switch to the metric system.

      Please help .... I have searched this recipe on your website as you suggested but I cannot find the metric measurements. Some countries' cake cup measurements are not the same. In my country the baking cup measurement is (140g which is 250ml) and I think in the USA it is either 120g or 125g. So which is it for this recipe? 120g or 125g that is if you are in the USA. I would really like to make your delicious cake

    Can't you taste that cayenne pepper in cake, something that's suppose to be sweet and a desert? 🤔
    Edited: Just saw a woman making this on Rachel Ray's show, and she put cayenne 🌶️ in it. But I see your recipe doesn't have that. I'll try yours instead.

    I did not have any buttermilk at home, so I used dry powdered Buttermilk substiute. Turned out dry and far from the fudgy cake using the Real Buttermilk. Never again. Time for the garbage.
