I remember making this cake back in the early 80's, but lost it years ago. I've seen other recipes for it but it was always a little different from the original, one added sour cream, and another without the cinnamon, so they never tasted right. Being a Texan I can say that this is the most accurate recipe I have seen on UA-cam. Yes, cinnamon is definitely a must in the traditional recipe.

Had a recipe for Texas sheet cake that used mayo rather than eggs, mayo makes cake moist. Was at least 50 yr old recipe.
NOT CRISCO that stuff is terrible for your health. Choose butter!
