You are the only instructor who takes her time to break down each reason of why cakes are not coming out right. 😢 thank you so much for teaching us the right way unlike so many other ppl who might thing teaching is secretive. It should not be that way!
I've been baking since I was 13, which is more than 30 years now, I've done all these mistakes at the beginning, yet I cracked how to make a perfect cake when I saw a video about how to make Taiwanese Street cakes 😂 commonly known as Castella cake, and how the baker first heat oil and milk together to a warm but not hot temperatures in the micro, then add the eggs , mix, and then the dry ingredients. I've never had a failed cake since.
@@josephinejoseph8837 Though I'm on keto diet but this is the cake I make for my children: 1/3 cup oil, 1/2 cup sweetner or sugar , half a spoon bicarbonate of soda, 3 eggs, 1/2 glass milk, 1spoon yogurt, vanilla drops or powder, 2 cups white flour: method: mix up the liquids & the yogurt, apart from the eggs, and heat them on medium temperature for 20 seconds in the micro, after that add the eggs sugar & vanilla & mix, then gradually add the sieved flour and mix, put the mix in a greased oven cake tin & bake on 180 for 25 min, and it's done 🙂
I’m sure I’m late and you may not be Monitoring this video, but I wanted to thank you! I’m an older guy that’s always wanted to learn to bake, but raising a family their was never the time. I finally got everyone through college and out of the house. I’m down to me and the wife, and She doesn’t bake so I needed a starting point and your video was perfect for me…. I love the smiles….thank you!
Hello, I really need help to choose a good oven just for baking cakes. As my vanilla cake either with oil or butter always sank….it’s happening recently. So can’t figure it out…so I think probably I need a heavy duty oven for my home business…do you have any recommendations…I’m based in Melbourne.
I could listen to your voice all day. You're such a good teacher. I subscribed happily. With your videos I can make another attempt at baking my boys some good cake. Thanks for the useful tips.
I just started baking cakes for myself and my family. Your channel is really helpful to me. I started with a simple recipe that didn't require an electric hand mixer. The taste of the cakes exceeded my expectations, and everyone complimented me on them. I also like how you indicate the ingredients in different proportions, which is very helpful when I'm making small servings.
Thank you so much, I made like three or four of these in my last three baking attempts! Can’t wait to see how much better my cakes will turn out after applying these 🥰
Finally, the best explanation I have ever seen about the cakes making mistakes! After I saw this video, I made the best cake of my life! I was making the same mistakes for decades! The butter creaming is very important, was a game changer. Thank you very much for your valuable teaching!
Thank you so much❤ I am 13years old and have been baking since i was 8, and i always wondered why the cakes don't come out perfect after following the procedures correctly but now i see the reason. You are the best teacher❤ Lots of thanks😊
Thank you sister this is so informative I've been struggling with flat and dense cakes 🤦🏼♀️ also the metalic taste was always there i didn't know about the acidic ingredient 🤔
Thank you soooo much...u are indeed an angel...now I got the confidence to do it right...I have never ever went through any such video which clearly teaches or explains these many things in detail...u were simply on the go and right up to the point...not everyone can do it...u saved yours and aswell as our time...thank u...hatsoff...I'm subscribing your channel.. stay blessed...❤❤❤❤
This is brilliant! First time I've heard some of these classic baking instructions explained so clearly - super helpful! I'm actually going to use this for a course I teach in Process Quality Engineering!!
Love the tips. I always prefer to bake using baking soda and vinegar than adding baking powder to my recipe. But I tend to stick with whatever the recipe calls for.
Young baker here ! I just learned baking about some months ago that too just from UA-cam like following the instructions . All of them except a few were edible and some were literally chef's kiss 💋 which my mum believes is her genes that make me a nice chef . Anyways I always felt my cake being sunken and now I know why so I'll make sure to never make those mistakes again . Here are some useful tips for young bakers like me which I've learnt so far Always strain your dry ingredients otherwise it will not combine properly and you might end up overmixing it Always means ALWAYS use Powder sugar if you're using white sugar If you ever substitute baking powder with baking soda ( pls consider twice ) 3x b. powder = 1x b. Soda +make sure there is an acid in the recipe Always add b. Soda or powder at the end of the recipe If the power cuts off while the cake is baking : 1) if it's been few minutes just take it out and later put it back 2) if your halfway through it take it out and freeze it to stop it from getting cooked and then you can put it in the oven when power is on 3) if you're almost there just leave it there ALWAYS preheat the oven if instructed NEVER use drinking chocolate instead of cocoa powder Always do the dressing after the cake is cooled I hope you find these helpful and correct me if im wrong ❤
I've been baking for so long and never knew why when I substituted B.P. for B.Soda in some recipes I get the metallic taste while I don't in others 😅 Thank you for the valuable tips 🎉
this is a great video! you've explained everything very clearly and i like that you get straight to the point ^^ some of the tips were new to me! i remember learning a few of these lessons the hard way when i was new to baking, haha =D
You said that opening the oven too early is one of the mistakes a lot of people make while baking cakes but the mistake I make when baking lava cakes is I open the oven door too late! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Very informative video. I baked the cake for the first time in life and trust me, it ended up a complete disaster. I will be keeping your tips in mind now ❤
Thank you sister I literally make these silly in the beginning but now learn your steps and that was so great thank you so much too give me the perfect recipe 🧡
I was doing everything that you mentioned in the video. The cake wasn’t coming right and I thought it’s not a indian thing to learn cakes and I gave up. Today I baked my second cake with keeping these rules in mind and it came out perfect ♥️ Thank and
I definitely learned the butter one. My butter wasn't room temp, so i microwaved it a little, hoping that would fix it. Unfortunately, the icing turned out grainy, and I couldn't save it.
Hey dear chef I came across your video for the first and it's been so so so helpful Thanks to you... Now I got to know y my cake always sinks in....nobody ever told in their videos such amazing tips Thanks a lot
This is my first time watching a video of yours and i really enjoyed it. Thanks for the tips. I'm looking forward to bake an amazing cake for my friends who'll come over tomorrow. You got a new sub❤️
I've just made my first cake ever and literally made almost ALL of these mistakes (except the second-to-last one). It's still in the oven but I already know how it's gonna come out. 😂
30ish years ago in home economics in middle school I was taught to always spoon floor into the measuring cup then level it off to avoid this overpacking.
I love your information that you give, and I would like even more ideas, as you give the advice. Knowing ideas for what would work best, from your self learned knowledge through the years, would be greatly appreciated. For instance, the acid that you like to use best to activate the baking soda... or what substitutes work best with particular ingredients. 🤔🤯🥳👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I've started baking cake from the time I was a little girl actually I had been learning it from my Dad so I had been used to do it and now as a grown up it's seems very easy to me. I make cakes anytime I feel like and usually upto 250gm of butter I cream it with my hand. Measurements r all same as butter 100gm butter 2 eggs but I really didn't know all the reasons that I got to know from your video so thanks a lot.
Hello @CakesbyMK LOVE videos have been very helpful thank youuuu I have a question please What cake batter is best to include white chocolate chunks? I want to make cake loaves and idk what type of cake to make to include the chunks. Hope you see this ❤️
Thanks, very helpful. What acid is typical used to activate baking soda in cakes? I've seen apple cider vinegar in one recipe, but very few recipes seem to include an acid.

Shukran for patiently sharing such clear and concise tips, Algamdulilaah so much appreciated
yesss! agreed! especially with that flour tip! almost all recipes call for cups, not grams!
Some people weren't teachable and Some people were observant and keep.searching of their whys? that's how they learned.
Thank you so much for taking your time to explain the mistakes while baking a cake 👍
I’ve been baking for over 50 years and have made these mistakes. Thanks for teaching this old puppy some news tricks ❤❤
