Truly PORTRAIT OF A LADY, is so unique. There is nothing like it. Btw, what we do in Paris is a secret is very similar to an old perfume I used when I was a teen OMBRE ROSE by Brosseau Thank you for your video. I am very curious about violet shot.
Oh and you can’t just call us old!! 🤣We’re mature and classic I had just graduated college when Angel came out… I am just hitting my fabulous stride… look at Betty White and how amazing she was for another 50 years after the industry would call her old!! 🥰😘😘😘
Hi Sebastian, how would you compare Soul with Oud Malaki? I know that they're both oud/amber fragrances, but what are their main differences? Which one do you like more, and why?
Older not old 😉 Thank you for this video. I bought supreme bouquet impulsively and I'm still not sure if it's a love or a hate, first hour it makes me physically sick but the dry down is gorgeous, longevity is AMAZING as well, I always top up my perfumes throughout the day even the very strong ones but this one doesn't need it {plus I don't need to go back to those nauseating initial notes} lol And this weekend I'm getting portrait of a Lady I have the feeling it's my cup of tea 😊
I’m on my third bottle of POAL. I really, really enjoy the scent. It last long on me and a compliment getter. I did not know that flowerbomb was his creation too. Thanks to you. Excellent video😀
Today I got myself Dominique Ropion's Amor Amor by Cacharel which was a big back in 00s and I want to compare it to Girl of Now (also created by DR) and see how the trends are/arent different 20 years later because both of them are marketed to young women. Would need to get this book...
I had forgotten that Dominique Ropion had created Ysatis... that's one of my favorite perfumes of all time! To me, it's totally underrated. I still haven't been able to get hold of Portrait of a Lady, but I am dying to! It sounds like just my type of fragrance!
Alien, Carnal Flower, Musc Mysterieux Alien, PROMISE Editions FM- which I find very odd not to find it in your top. Anyways... I can't make a top of my favourite nose. I can choose randomly :))
Can’t really argue with any of that and obviously Portrait of a Lady is a work of art. I have the original Jasmins Marzipane before supposed ‘reformulation’. I bet it smells exactly the same as your bottle....
My favourite is Soir de Lune, kind of epitome of chypre. I can drench myself in it, all season, and keep buying and using one or two full bottle each year. For me DR is a great perfumer because he's not locked in one style or another. Not doing the same perfume again and again and again...
No one and I mean no one makes top list the way you do it man and am.not kissing your ass for anything, I mean so many fragrance reviewers on UA-cam do list on weekly basis and they just repeat themselves talking same shit about same perfumes and same idea lists over and over again 👏👏👏
Dominique Ropion, one of the best. i like a lot Homne and Soul, but are not very recognised i don t know why because both are great. i have both. i havent try the last release the homme parfum versión. i find certain similarities with homme and oud maliki in the dry down. also with the Blazing Mr sam Penhaligons. and rasasi sotoor waaw. i also enjoy Promise from FM.
Have you smelled Les Bains Guerbois' 1979 yet? My favorite scent of 2020. And surprised AND THE WORLD IS YOURS didn't make the list either. That one is too feminine for me but still amazing to smell.
Dominic Ropion turned out to be my favourite perfumeur aswell. My favourites are Iris Shot by Olfactive Studio, Vanagloria from your list, & And The World Is Yours by ALabOnFire, especially the last one is phenomenal as it's an extrait and the orange blossom inside is heavenly and very strong and long lasting.
Orangerie Venice It´s my favorite fragance so far. It is a shame that it won´t be able in México City any more. But anyway love your videos. Good vibes for the week.
I discovered by mistake Soul - Costume National, and i'm so in love with this perfume, that i want to try more from Domunique Ropion. Thanks for your detailed review! Love it!
Picked up some of the Chopard Oud Malaki not long ago. Really great fragrance and not expensive. Surprising from Chopard. In Hebrew Malaki means messenger of God. It's a variant of Melachi and Melakia. Thanks Sebastian.
I don't know when I fell into your treasure trove, but glad I did. Love your content! Love your wit, knowledge, and overall delivery. Question, have you ever done Helmut Lang (Cuiron)? I'm just really getting into all your vids. I did a query but didn't see anything. Thank you!
My top 5 is: 1. Costume National Homme, 2. Escada Sentiment pour Homme, 3. Portrait of a Lady Frederic Malle, 4. Charriol Men, 5. L'Homme Ultime Yves Saint Laurent
Thank u for including different types of classification for ur videos in terms of notes, perfumers, brands and stuff. It makes your channel much more original than the other ones and also helps us find things we can possibly like.
This was fascinating. Don't know how I let this slip by till now. Pleased to say I own one of them, at least: La Nuit de l"Homme. It's brilliant. And while I hear from reviewers that it's a great date-nite scent, for me it's just something to enjoy in my personal space, lightly, without trying to reel in others.
I’m a big fan of his! I loved Ysatis in high school… it came out my freshman year and ,of course I was way too young for such a sophisticated perfume, but I’ve always been an old soul and I adored it and I still have it in my collection😂. I have and wear LeVie Est Belle and love it -even though it gets a lot of hate. La Parfum Lalique is a love and of course Alien! I am actually looking at buying a bottle of J Lo‘s Live just because he was the perfumer😬little nervous but I just so love him! I love Euphoria and I have Kenzo L’lephant and I mix this one with sweeter vanilla’s so I can wear it- I just can’t seem to do that one by itself. Somehow I have not smelled Portrait of a Lady or Carnal Flower and I totally need to do that the next time I’m at Neiman‘s! Also didn’t realize he did Jasmines Marzipan … thank you for this! I have loved also reading several interviews with him on fragrantica❤️!
I like POAL very much, too. Someone recommended Lyric man from Amouage as a rose scent. I bought it and it's much heavier and challenging to wear, but it's growing on me. POAL is so light and elegant.
I bought the Kenzo .. 😬not to sure of it yet . It was a blind buy . If you could do a video of how to decant that would be great ! I’m not sure how to do it
One thing confuses me- DR created What We Do In Paris Is Secret which is identical to a much older and cheaper fragrance- Le Bain by Joop. Can anyone explain that? Why would he stoop so low being the genius he is?
Dear Sebastian, I really really enjoy your videos and I really like the idea of ranking artist's fragrances. Could you do the same thing with Daniela Andrier and Thierry Wasser's perfumes please?
Sebastian can you do a video on your top “eye rolling” fragrances? The fragrances that make your eyes roll with extract as soon as you smell it! Would be fun 😇
This makes sense ….. I like a lot of his creations which I didn’t even know he was the mind and hands behind it. ❤ what a creative master of his craft.
I just got Lalique Le Parfum! I love it!! Also I just love DR. He created (w Sophie Labbe) my recent favorite Girl of Now. Even if it’s 3-4 years old- newish to me! I have Oud Malaki also! Love it. Do you know Girl of Now?
Hello Sebastian! From Dominique Ropion I enjoy So Nude CoSTUME NATIONAL, Acqua di Gioia Giorgio Armani, Vetiver Extraordinaire, and Promise by Frederic Malle, but I love 🔥 Portrait of a Lady :-)
Hard to imagine that the same man who created such beautiful frags for FM, also created Angel & Jungle Elephant, both of which I consider abominations. Angel smells like flowers rotting in a dirty cat box and JElephant smells like my Daddy’s Old Spice on steroids. I just can’t….,
How I wish Escada casual friday pour homme would rise from the ashes. A masterpiece and charming cologne. A unique perfume. Any clone around? I'd love to have similars since the original is no longer in stores.

Dominique Rapion Is king of Fragrance
Truly PORTRAIT OF A LADY, is so unique. There is nothing like it. Btw, what we do in Paris is a secret is very similar to an old perfume I used when I was a teen OMBRE ROSE by Brosseau
Thank you for your video. I am very curious about violet shot.
Can you also do Maison Francis Kurkdjian's perfumes?
My favorite Domonique Ropion are
Jasmins Marzipane
Alien
Alien Fusion
La Vie Est Belle L'Eclat
Girl of Now
He definitely does wonderful white florals.
OMG what a great video! Where else could you possibly find content like that . 🙌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I didn’t know he was my favorite perfumer but he is! There’s a lot of fragrances I love that he has created. ❤
Promise is by far my personal favorite of his but nobody ever seems to mention it
Oud Malaki, portrait of a lady are my favorites
It's so pleasing!
I recently added 'and the world is yours' by a lab on fire to my collection, and it is a thing of beauty! Ropion is a master 🙌🏽
Best perfumer ever. He makes so many great scents.
I agree. Poal is my favourite fragrance ever! And carnal flower comes very close. That man is master perfumer
Yes
Agreed! He really is absolutely incredible
When are you launching your perfumes? I would buy blind. Straight off the bat
Doubt he'd go in that direction. What makes you think he will create any?
@@missreia just a thought. He has so much passion for them
Oh and you can’t just call us old!! 🤣We’re mature and classic I had just graduated college when Angel came out… I am just hitting my fabulous stride… look at Betty White and how amazing she was for another 50 years after the industry would call her old!! 🥰😘😘😘
Jungle is hands down his best creation ever. Sue me
Fabulous video. Thank you for this. I’ve been curious about Penhaligon’s Heartless Helen. I also didn’t realize he created Dune. 🤔😍
Lalique Le Parfum smells so much more expensive than it is! It’s really good!
I can’t wait to watch this video. Dominique Ropion is my favorite perfumer also.
Awesome!!
I have Kenzo Jungle, Alien, Alien Oud Majesteaux and Jasmine Marzipan. Didn't know hat he was responsible for their formulation...
Make Video About Alberto Morillas Fragrances
Hi Sebastian, how would you compare Soul with Oud Malaki? I know that they're both oud/amber fragrances, but what are their main differences? Which one do you like more, and why?
Wonderful video brother.Dominique Ropion really makes some amazing compostions.
Could you please do Alberto Morillas
We Alien followers are not old! 😆 We’re rockin the hell outta Alien- still! 💕🌸
Older not old 😉

I've only started to collect fragrances this year. The only Ropion composition I have is Noir Argent which I enjoy.
Great video, Sebastian. Dominique Ropion is a great perfumer. Can you do a top 20 on Jacques Cavallier.
Today I got myself Dominique Ropion's Amor Amor by Cacharel which was a big back in 00s and I want to compare it to Girl of Now (also created by DR) and see how the trends are/arent different 20 years later because both of them are marketed to young women. Would need to get this book...

"Aphorisms of a Perfumer" sounds like an interesting book. Can you include some some other Perfume Books as well. Thank you.

On fragrantica many people prefer Oud de Carthage over Amber Malaki, wonder if the difference are that big between those two fragrances.
Dude! You just called me old! 😜🎉💃🏽🥂 I really need to get Violet Shot. Nice list! I have/had about 4. Angel is my most purchased.
“The Night “ Most beautiful fragrance in the world ! Dominique Ropion nose Knows !
Do you have a playlist for videos dedicated to perfumers or will you have one?
I never realised, until recently, that my favourite perfume as a teen Lace by Yardley, was created by DR. That man's nose is amazing!
Great perfumer!
I saw the title and I knew What’s your nr 1…
But you surprised me with your nr2 actually.
Is Vanagloria so good?!!🤔
Nice video Seb👊🏻
You’re genuinely a fragrance librarian!!
Orangerie Venice It´s my favorite fragance so far. It is a shame that it won´t be able in México City any more. But anyway love your videos. Good vibes for the week.

Great perfumer amazing sents he has created. Was a pleasure watching Seb have a great weekend. 👍
Thanks, you too!
Amarige I know was a favorite of my mom several years ago. Portrait of a Lady still a must-smell for me.
My favourite as well! It is simply Amazing! 💜And, I think is the perfumer from which I own most of my perfumes...
I love Vanagloria! It's my number 1. It's worth every money.
how's the sillage/longevity on this? I own babycat but thinking about getting this one as well

I like Lalique Le Parfum so much! It has a special place in my collection! 💕
I would have loved to see EVERY fragrance you have by this perfumer. I want to know how many you have in your collection. He is my favorite perfumer.

Great video I love Dominique Robion fragrances. It's really unique fragrances
Dear Sebastian, I really really enjoy your videos and I really like the idea of ranking artist's fragrances. Could you do the same thing with Daniela Andrier and Thierry Wasser's perfumes please?
The salesman at Perfumology in Philadelphia gave me a sample of Violet shot and ive been hooked every since.
Totally forgot that he did Lalique's Le Parfum. I need to wear that one more often!
It's quite good. Didn't even know about it until most recently. YUMMY stuff.
I really enjoyed this video tour of perfumes by Ropion; thank you!
Sebastian can you do a video on your top “eye rolling” fragrances? The fragrances that make your eyes roll with extract as soon as you smell it! Would be fun 😇
Great video! He has some really good creations, especially love alien, krizia, and Ysatis
I think I need a bottle of the Krizia!!
One of the best channels on youtube. If you're looking to watch videos about perfume this is it with great videos.
If Ropion's perfumes were musical instruments, they would be trumpet! So loud they give me headache
oud malaki chopard or soul costum nacional ? as entry-level oud perfume
What do you recommend the most ?
thanks
This makes sense ….. I like a lot of his creations which I didn’t even know he was the mind and hands behind it. ❤ what a creative master of his craft.
Loved this video, makes sense that he was the nose behind those eighties powerhouse fragrances I love.
Dominique is the best perfumer ever... he's amazing!
I love this kind of video dedicated to the master perfumers, ❤👍
I really love these videos about the individual perfumer.
Great video man, I love this perfumer.
Costume National Homme Parfum, Soul, and PotrIat of a Lady.
Casual Friday still smells great it never fails to put a smile on my face 😁

Do you know Girl of Now?
I think I will order the Girl Of Now too I love Orange Blossom.
Omg it’s amazing
Oh my gosh yes to the Escada! I forgot how much I loved that one. I seriously had no idea he made so many of these. Great video!
Great video!
The DR creations I own are:
Amor Amor, CK Euphoria, Dior Dune, Armani Code, LVEB, Alien, PR Lady Million, RL Safari, V&R Flowerbomb.
Great 📹 and I enjoyed it and he makes some great fragrances and have a blessed day

Vetiver Extraodinaire is my fav Dominique's creation ! Best vetiver frag ever !
