It was in the XY soundtrack on disc 4. Final Battle! (Rival) [Pokemon Origins Version], the bassline is slightly different in the XY version, but otherwise mostly the same.
I'm glad I wasn't crazy about that Beauty trainer class trivia. I SWEAR I remember seeing that since I replayed X and Y so much back in the day but didn't take too much note of it since I was young and it slipped through my memory. The Adult Onee san who said she was a Karate Ouiji with medical science can mean she was injected with anabolic steroids as that is related to medical science. 3:21 As someone who lived in SoCal all my life I have to ask: "Which part?" Even here in the LA area alone it varies greatly depending on which part of LA we're talking about. Not to mention culturally speaking, I'm pretty sure the French care more about beauty than we do...
The theme about different paths intersecting kind of makes Team Flare feel more relevant to the plot. Not only did Lysandre feel that people were drawing the world of all its beauty, he got to the point that wiping all of humanity & pokémon aside from Team Flare was the only option since the only ones who could follow his path to a beautiful world are people who shared his beliefs. He basically had “a my or the highway” mentality
On the topic of XY's Gen 1 champion fight remix, another remix was made for BW & B2W2. Sadly, Pokemon games after XY didn't have their own remixes since SM & USUM just used XY's remix and SS & SV don't even have any sort of special song that plays at the world championship.
Well it’s true they don’t have a special song, they do have a special background used only during top eight of the world championships. It’s where you fight Nemo a, the big stadium with all the types, but with a huge crowd watching and cheering
When I picked up Pokémon X, it didn't want to work on my 3DS. Needed to get permission from the school to connect it to the internet for the very first time and download system updates. Only then did the game I purchased grant me permission to play it. Had purchased the 3DS before Black and Whites release, because I though that those games would be released for it.
Played through Y recently and I found out that the dowsing machine's laser can block trainer sightlines and patrol paths. Not useful at all but I thought it was neat.
Remember when this game first came out and we thought Mega Evolution was gonna change pokemon forever? Yeah, too bad Game Freak didn't make it permanent
I always thought X&Y were chosen due to the shift to 3D, and also the mega evolution icon somewhat resembling DNA. I find it funny they had these grand ambitions and explanations for the games' deeper meanings, yet XY were probably the most shallow, by the books titles in the series (at least relative to their release). I've heard the gen 1 (world) champion remix from YT reuploads (did gen 5 also have one or was that just PWT?) and I really love that kind of hidden content. A lot of people didn't like gen 3's mythicals/events for example, but to me there's just a real magic to a game played countless hours by countless people holding these secrets few will ever get to experience in their intended way.
That message about the X&Y axis, reminds me of the PSS feed. Seeing everyone playing Pokemon from different countries in real time. It was a special thing 🤝
The possibility that if XY had better writing they could've delved deeper into the more philosophical theme of chance encounters with 4 different rivals and learning what might've happened had they never met and all their individual motives makes me wish this game had more time in the oven. Still my favorite Pokémon game to date.
@@Lucess happy to help. Though I do agree it would've made the story and characters more interesting. I honestly wonder if it would have carried over to the show. That would've been something.
Was thinking the same thing. I have definitely seen this character in the game bc i had 100s of hours (literally) in Maison. Funny thing is back then I thought nothing of it... certinally didnt consider them "trans"
XY should've gotten DLC in the form of compaitbility with the new Megas (and Primal forms for Groudon and Kyogre) and Moves introduced in ORAS, so they could be used in Kalos
2D anime characters on top of 3D backgrounds can work, even today like Under Night In-Birth and Blade Strangers. Even Dragon Quest XI did a good job making the 3D characters match their 2D anime character counterparts.
Did you know, on release Pokémon x and y had a game breaking glitch where if you saved and quit in luminous city your player would be locked in place forever. This was fixed less then a week later and Nintendo scrubbed most videos of it from the internet via copy righting them
From what i can remember from those halcyon days, it was because the game the game was spawning your character out of bounds (copy-pasted coordinades from the other sections of the city?) And you could actually had a chance to recover and save in another place
I remember, and it doesn't surprise me that Nintendo tried to sweep it under the rug. Now they don't even bother hiding the poor quality, they know people will buy it regardless 😂
I think the reason that Matsumiya said that gens 1 & 3 take place at the same time and gens 2 & 4 take place at the same time is because the gen 1 remakes were made during gen 3 and the gen 2 remakes were made during gen 4.
Unrelated but while watching this video I got a shiny aron in oras and when I went to the pokemon center I found out I got pokerus aswell which is absolutely insane
Ok, so I wasn't just imagining things xD I used to play a LOT of X and Y back in high school and frequently did the battle Maison either to test teams or grind for BP. I was certain Nova was a trainer you encountered there and that I've done so before but it's interesting that she only appears on normal difficulty. It also explains a lot in my case since I did play a lot on that difficulty when I just wanted items. And people not having pics or clips of her also make sense as it's not hard to just skip through all the text since it's just back to back NPC's

That... is a very good question. My only guess is maybe Garchomp was to use Earthquake and KO it instantly so the next Poke out could use a highly boosted Retaliate?
It acted as a redirector for Gyarados. While amoonguss was the main redirection mon of the format thanks to spore, pachi did have some advantages over it. Follow Me can't be ignored by safety goggles for example compared to rage powder, and pachi could still impair Pokemon with nuzzle. Finally it having super fang allowed it to set up easier knock outs for its partners. While amoonguss has continued to be the premiere redirector in VGC, pachi hasn't done much else since its Worlds win so it was really the right place at the right time for it to sneak a win and act as a powerful support Pokemon people weren't expecting to face. Even mega gyarados itself wasn't very popular back in VGC14, so overall it was some powerful sleeper picks piloted by one of the best to ever play the game.
You know, I understand some of the hate that X and Y gets but I really think it did more right than wrong. It was the series that seriously got me back in to the franchise.

i mean this with the utmost respect, I felt like it was quite obvious in this video that the narrator was reading material written by somebody else. of course, that's how scripting usually works with voiceovers, but it doesn't really change the fact it felt distracting at times - almost like he wasn't too familiar with the material before recording the voiceover yk?
The original Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald is mine, but X/Y is a close second. Although the plot point about using the legendary Poke's power to reset the world fits a lot better for Yveltal, god of destruction, than with creation deer imho, I still love both.

I'd never realized the Kalos in X/Y was only representative of northern France. Now I'm all the more disappointed we never got a Z version to complete the region, or conversely that the Scarlet/Violet DLC goes off into distant locations rather than making use of its adjacency to what would be southern Kalos. It's likewise disappointing that Legends Z-A is unlike to rectify this either, as that game will supposedly be set entirely around Lumios city.
I compare all the Unova references in the Switch games to LEGO referencing BIONICLE; creators acknowledging its existence while knowing they have no plans to return to it in the near future. As for the lack of Kalos things despite being next door, that was hinting through _exclusion_; the Gen 6 legendaries are conspicuously absent from the Gen 9 DLC.
I guess I should count myself lucky. I met Nova in my first playthrough of X. I bought it with my 3DS at launch and binged played it for days. I remember mashing A through dialogue, as ya do, and so I missed the first part of what she said and only noticed once I beat her and the "used to be a Black Belt" line came up. I remember thinking "oh, huh, she's trans. Neat!" and continuing on. Completely forgetting about it as time went on until she resurfaced online. It's nice how she's managed to live on over the years through the internet.
Pretty much same. I definitely recall a line about "used to be a Black Belt" but I didn't think anything of it since I was mashing through dialogue, too. I didn't even consider that the Black Belt class was male-exclusive and Beauty was female-exclusive. Really wish I'd been paying more attention lol I know a lot of trans people who would've appreciated the subtle bit of support.

i got confused with the Nova thing cuz of the posted screen shot of the translation differences of the line, only to follow it with "but this may not even be real as we've seen this happen before" only to follow it up with it being real. that just seemed like a confusing order to do that in.

It was in the XY soundtrack on disc 4. Final Battle! (Rival) [Pokemon Origins Version], the bassline is slightly different in the XY version, but otherwise mostly the same.
The song was used in the PWC 2014 finals
I'm glad I wasn't crazy about that Beauty trainer class trivia. I SWEAR I remember seeing that since I replayed X and Y so much back in the day but didn't take too much note of it since I was young and it slipped through my memory. Every time that screenshot popped up again online, the memory kept coming back, but in a Mandela Effect way. As in I couldn't say for certain it existed for real. Thanks for clearing it up for everyone!
She was mentioned in a previous DYKG video but that video said she was in Lumiose City
The Adult Onee san who said she was a Karate Ouiji with medical science can mean she was injected with anabolic steroids as that is related to medical science. Others may say she would have drank the drinks like the Taurine, Bromhexine, Lysozyme, Chitosan, or Indometacin since stat-boosting can be related to medical science similar to anabolic steroids.
3:21 As someone who lived in SoCal all my life I have to ask: "Which part?" Even here in the LA area alone it varies greatly depending on which part of LA we're talking about. Not to mention culturally speaking, I'm pretty sure the French care more about beauty than we do...
National Parks I suppose
The beaches, missions, certain parts of San Francisco, the mountains, the forests, the parks
Also, plenty of France is fugly too
The theme about different paths intersecting kind of makes Team Flare feel more relevant to the plot.
The X&Y ending song with the lyrics in all the languages for the chorus was probably my favourite part of the games. Beautiful message.
I bought a 3ds just for this game originally. I clocked in about 250 hours.
I just picked up X at a local games store because of Z-A hype.
I never owned a 3DS and never played it when it first came out.
When I picked up Pokémon X, it didn't want to work on my 3DS.
Needed to get permission from the school to connect it to the internet for the very first time and download system updates.
Only then did the game I purchased grant me permission to play it.
Had purchased the 3DS before Black and Whites release, because I though that those games would be released for it.
hey nice! I hope u enjoy it~
Played through Y recently and I found out that the dowsing machine's laser can block trainer sightlines and patrol paths. Not useful at all but I thought it was neat.
What do you mean? No seriously, what the fuck do you mean?
It was such a thrill playing with the worldwide release.
i went "oh jarvis like jarvis johnson!" and then it was ACTUALLY jarvis johnson
LETS GO JARVIS
LET’S GO JARVIS!!!!!!!!
That was a surprise I didnt expect
Sir you can't safely fly at thus altitude. Your systems are at 30%
The possibility that if XY had better writing they could've delved deeper into the more philosophical theme of chance encounters with 4 different rivals and learning what might've happened had they never met and all their individual motives makes me wish this game had more time in the oven. Still my favorite Pokémon game to date.
Isn't it 4 rivals?
@@trickjack8329 forgot to consider Serena u right 💀
@@Lucess happy to help. Though I do agree it would've made the story and characters more interesting. I honestly wonder if it would have carried over to the show. That would've been something.
It's funny how KYM had a hard time getting Nova while I remember encountering her because of how many times I've done Battle Maison on Normal.
Now I want the credits of ZA to have the same song just with the lyrics included
Insane that this game came out so long ago. Still have very good memories playing this way back in middle school
Me too! I used to take breaks from my homework and sneak out my 3dsxl so I could feed my team and play the yarn ball game lol
2D anime characters on top of 3D backgrounds can work, even today like Under Night In-Birth and Blade Strangers. Even Dragon Quest XI did a good job making the 3D characters match their 2D anime character counterparts.
I distinctly remember encountering Nova in the Battle Maison when I played Pokemon Y.
9:35 "A miracle. It's a miracle I even met you." - Tremolo Ryugu, Yugioh Go Rush.
That jarvis cameo caught me SO off guard
I love pokemon XY
Also i did not expect jarvis to be voicing a video on this channel wtf
Did you know, on release Pokémon x and y had a game breaking glitch where if you saved and quit in luminous city your player would be locked in place forever. This was fixed less then a week later and Nintendo scrubbed most videos of it from the internet via copy righting them
From what i can remember from those halcyon days, it was because the game the game was spawning your character out of bounds (copy-pasted coordinades from the other sections of the city?) And you could actually had a chance to recover and save in another place
@@KARLOSPCgame you could only recover it if you patched the game but for a week it caused a massive panic
Not for me since I never updated that game (and I kinda hope that whoever got my cartridge got surprised by it).
@@chimmyinfernape9189 sorry, but i know and saw a guy thay recovered his save before the patch was out
I remember, and it doesn't surprise me that Nintendo tried to sweep it under the rug.
Now they don't even bother hiding the poor quality, they know people will buy it regardless 😂
I wasn't expecting Jarvis on a DYKG video, the crossover I didn't know I needed.
I think the reason that Matsumiya said that gens 1 & 3 take place at the same time and gens 2 & 4 take place at the same time is because the gen 1 remakes were made during gen 3 and the gen 2 remakes were made during gen 4.
My favorite Pokémon X & Y fact is that *Balrog's Game Room* will eventually post a video review of them!
Pokémon X was my first video game, it will always be so special to me
I never noticed that Kalos was only northern France. Now that grey area to the northeast of Paldea on the Gen IX map is even more frustrating!
God I love this game. I know its so flawed but MAN the feels for Gen 6 are still freaking unrivaled
I was quite fortunate to come across Beauty Nova in the Battle Chateau, via a Challenge Writ. It was so dope to read the text for the first time.
Unrelated but while watching this video I got a shiny aron in oras and when I went to the pokemon center I found out I got pokerus aswell which is absolutely insane
which shiny?
Can’t you believe Gen 6 was the last time Eevee got a new evolution with Sylveon? That was back in 2013 and now we’re in 2024😞
Jarvis Johnson Gold? Consider me, Jarvis Johnson Sold!
NICE work on the Nova trivia! Well worth it I'd say.
I actually encountered Beauty Nova a few times over while I was trying to beat Battle Maison. I didn't know she's considered rare in the internet.
XY went through a rough development cycle. I would love to see what they had planned but had to cut.
@@c0mpu73rguy such a shame that all comes from some 4chan post. It's pretty much impossible to verify that unless we get a good leak again, so we have to assume the XY Aliens stuff was all a hoax
Im so happy you guys actually got footage of that last part. I couldn't believe no one had uploaded it before. In other words LETS GOOOOO!
Never get tired of new Pokémon content
We can say now that we have the XY source code that south kalos existed!
XY was a mixed era imo but I loved it nonetheless in anime and 3ds games .
@8:05 For the mainlines but not the 1st, that honor would go to stadium and adventure wise colosseum.
Ah yes that Champion Battle remix is actually available in the X/Y Super Music Collection (as well as a few tracks from the Pokémon Origins OVA)!
Man! This is the last Pokemon game I bought in stores close to the day of release; fantastic entry into the series despite being so fundamentally flawed.
I'm really happy that Z-A was announced because it can finally give Kalos a second chance at something and I hope this version of the region gets better reception than the one we've had for almost 12 years.
As time goes by the more I appreciate X & Y, the huge jump from Gen 5 to 6 was so ambitious and well executed. One of the best games if you ask me.
JARVIS VOICED THIS??? i didnt realise the entire time oh ym GOD
1:40 I wonder what a Pachirisu is doing at the grand finals of one of the biggest pokemon tournaments
That... is a very good question.
Did you know, there's a psychic trainer in the X and Y games that references the "Over 9000" meme from DBZ? It blew my mind when I came across it.
You can also get a photo review that references Pokémon's own "too much water" meme.
You know, I understand some of the hate that X and Y gets but I really think it did more right than wrong. It was the series that seriously got me back in to the franchise.
Never thought I'd see Jarvis collab with DYKG! Also, let's go, more Pokémon facts on one of my favorite Pokémon games!
i never knew jarvis did the voiceover for one of these! now two of my favorite youtubers have done voiceovers for dykg videos about pokemon!! and it's two creators i think should meet!
jarvis on cold ones WHEN?!
I love gen 6 a lot! It was my first Pokémon game ^^!! I remember getting hood at all the hotel richism mini games so I could get the 150,000 a day to spend on clothes lol
Pokemon X and Y was peak for Pokemon games for me really loved that game to death
i mean this with the utmost respect, I felt like it was quite obvious in this video that the narrator was reading material written by somebody else.
of course, that's how scripting usually works with voiceovers, but it doesn't really change the fact it felt distracting at times - almost like he wasn't too familiar with the material before recording the voiceover yk?
This will always and still is my fav pokemon game
The original Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald is mine, but X/Y is a close second. Although the plot point about using the legendary Poke's power to reset the world fits a lot better for Yveltal, god of destruction, than with creation deer imho, I still love both.
4:15 I’m ashamed of myself for realizing the American Braviary design, but still took me until sun and moon came out to realize Unova was New York
Typo at 4:32
Gen 4 had 107 new Pokemon. Not 137
The graph is counting all the different forms as seperate pokemon, which would add an extra 30
@@fricks4486 There's no way you're being serious.
Compare the size of the bar between Gen 4 and 3 and then come back here. Tell me what you see.
@@fricks4486 Also, give me a list of these 30 different forms. I'll wait.
@@Randallroks
unknown ! and ?: +2
wormadam sandy and trash cloak: +2
Cherrim sunshine form: +1
shellos and gastrodon east sea: +2
rotom appliance forms: +5
girtatina orign: +1
shaymin sky: +1
arceus plate forms: +16
For 30 forms.
However I will admit that it probably is just a mistype and that the numbers lining up is just a coincidence. It would be weird for gen 4 to be only one to count forms and for the bars to be wrong
@@fricks4486 Compared to everything else, the Arceus forms are barely anything other than a typing and palette swap. Doesn't even get a special name like Darmanitan Zen Mode. It's still just classed as Arceus.
@@sam_sanister: The conspicuous absence of the gen6 legendaries is most likely to keep them as exclusives for Legends Z-A.
One thing you have to give to gen 6 is the abundance of good shinies. Some of the best in the series come from XY
I missed this general format of covering a bunch of facts about one specific game
I had no idea Gates to Infinity had DLC, can't believe I missed out on that with the shop shutdown... T~T
IIRC they were mainly dungeons used to recruit the other potential beginner Pokémon onto your team.
If you havent gotten your 3ds hacked yet then I have no idea what your doing
You should hack your 3DS. Now.
@@NOIDEDU Funny, because I have no idea what I'm doing either...
I saw her at launch, but it wasn't talked because it wouldn't matter on those times
I'm subbed to DYKG and Jarvis and had no clue I was listening to Jarvis this whole time.
When I was 9 years old in 2015, I first played through Pokémon Y. Last year, I tried playing it again. Although it was super nostalgic hearing all the music, the game got boring because of how easy it is, I had the same problem with brilliant diamond, I quit after the second galactic base because I was legit just spamming A while dozing off because infernape one shots literally everything
Still one of my favorite gen game, i can wait for the sequel for next year
Pokemon X and Y my beloved! these games have my whole heart.
4:30 why is the gen 4 graph bar smaller than the gen 3 one when the number is higher?
Yooo Jarvis!!! So excited to see him in a Pokemon fact video
I spent so much time in the battle mansion. I had to have battled her a few times but I definitely remember having battled her at least once.
Jarvis and pokemon hell yeah man
I was NOT expecting Jarvis Johnson on this channel 💀 but it makes sense
Love hearing Jarvis doing this one. Great job!
jarvis johnson narrating a video about pokemon X and Y? im sitting my ass down... AND LISTENING !!!
Couldve sworn I heard that Gen 1 champion remix from the tournament in X & Y
i got confused with the Nova thing cuz of the posted screen shot of the translation differences of the line, only to follow it with
"but this may not even be real as we've seen this happen before" only to follow it up with it being real.
that just seemed like a confusing order to do that in.
Nostalgic memories of using a coin in the circle pad around Lumiose City to hatch eggs quicker.
About five minutes in I was like, "Why does this sound like Jarvis Johnson and why am I not hearing (Gooooooooold!) in the background?"
