Judge is better hitter. But ohtani is complete player , he’s good hitter and pitcher. That’s super rare.
Both sides of the ball. Ohtani is the MVP no question.
To be honest, I don't care which one is mvp anymore, I just applicate to be able to watch this series. End of the day, Baseball Wins.
Both of Ohtani's homers were very clutch during the series.
He almost had a third homer a two run shot in the last game but it was caught on a back wall jump
I Agree yesterday's 3 run HR by Shohei single handedly won the game
Yep. Both proved to be game winners.
That was one series I will never forget. Damn that was special. I’m getting emotional over it. WOW. just… wow.
a pitcher that will win 15 games with 200 strike outs and a low 2.00 ERA alone is close to being the same value of an aaron judge. forget that the pitcher will also hit close to 40 home runs with 100 rbis and around 10 triples and 15 stolen bases.. its silly that people compare judge to ohtani. he's half the player
👍
This was the best showdown I've ever watched in MLB.
Judge is chasing History and Ohtani is Making History. There’s no debate, Shohei Ohtani is not only the MVP, but he is the Best Player Ever!
barry bonds is the best player by far
@@xdewy nah … not only he’s a steroid cheat he doesn’t pitch 😂
Not a complete player like Ohtani
@@xdewy he’s the biggest cheater by far. The guy is a joke
@@xdewy it was unanimous that Ruth is the best player ever and Ohtani broke his record …
Checkmate
Judge is going to get MVP
Ohtani MVP for sure,no one does that on both sides of the field, historic overall player
No shot Judge is getting robbed again, you are nuts !
Word is bond
He's the only player in MLB history with 10+ wins on the mound and 30+ homers in the same season. It's unbelievable.
thanks for saying my opinion
And his team is like 39 games out of a postseason birth. How exactly would you discount Aaron Judge possibly hitting 62 home runs in a season he makes the playoffs and tell him he’s not the MVP? You realize players that have done half that had MVP awards?
Judge is chasing a record. Ohtani is making records.
Who gets MVP this year doesn't really matter to me. It is just so lucky for me to be able to watch two great players performing.
angels doesn't deserve Shohei
Ohtani is the REAL AL MVP, no one affects both sides of the playing field like him and the only thing missing from this series is him pitching. Judge gets the Hank Aaron award for best hitter in the game, that's what the Hank Aaron award is for.
I love Ohtani but Judge literally has more WAR and Angels are almost 20games under 500. No contest really.
@@joshn3384 for now
@@joshn3384 The current WAR system can not really calculate Ohtani's real value because of the positional adjustment for the DH. Also highest WAR does not guarantee MVP, last year Bryce Harper (WAR 5.9) won NL MVP against Juan Sato (WAR 7.1). Judge is an amazing player, chasing history, but Ohtani is making history.
@@joshn3384 Do you know the WAR can not exactly calculate for 2 way player ? Do you know how difficult to win the game for weak team Pitcher ? Yankees has many star players, so it's easy to get win without Aaron Judge.
@@joshn3384 WAR is broken. The WAR calculates Ohtani’s batting as DH even when he’s pitching. If you mention WPA, I would say maybe, but WAR definitely not working as you think. WPA also flawed since it needs the team to put the player in a more clutch moment to achieve higher WPA.
It is time to have a serious discussion about WAR. Shohei Ohtani, being a pitcher, does not normally receive a negative correction for defense. However, he is being charged a negative value for DH.
Isn't this strange?
The correct value is the current value plus the negative amount. It is clear that Ohtani's WAR is higher than Judge's.
Is it so clear? The Yankees are 79-52 while the Angels are 57-74. How much worse could the Angels really be without Ohtani?
@@derkardinal9781 bruh you fr? ohtani has solo carried so many games for the angels this year
@@user-ry6cb2vr2p If that's true, he certainly hasn't carried enough. They have 57 wins and a whopping 74 losses. He's good, but that's no MVP performance.
@@derkardinal9781
so,what you said is ''if judge were in halos, halos would win over 70s''
are you kidding me??😅😅😅😅
@@derkardinal9781 You're a troll. Don't compare sports, baseball is a team sport but it's extremely individualistic in the sense that it's only you against the pitcher and vice versa. Idk if you know, but throughout MLB history's, there are countless players who won MVP without being in the playoffs, so yes, out of the 4 major North American sports, baseball is the only one where you can win MVP while being on a losing team.
How about I give you this scenario - In baseball, there are 9 batters in the batting lineup, right? Let's say you are one of them, and you are an outfielder. You had 5 at-bats in this one game, and you hit a home run in every at-bat, resulting in 5 runs. However, all of your teammates did not get a single hit, so the team only has 5 runs and YOU did not get a single RBI for it. THEN, your pitcher allows 10 home-runs, which for obvious reasons, you can't do anything about it.
Let's say you perform equally as good for the rest of the season while your teammates (including the pitchers) does equally as bad for the rest of the season, how are you able to make the playoffs? In the NBA and NHL, you can interfere with the play by telling your teammates to give you the ball/puck; in the NFL you can pass the ball laterally (behind you) or pass or run the ball. In baseball, you can't.
Yankees has so many star players, so it's easy to get win without Aaron Judge
Name one position player on the yankees currently in the lineup thats having a star level season
Somebody hasn’t been paying attention this season at all. Like at all.
@@rdr4095 Rizzo is playing well. Although he is hitting .225 he does have good OPS.
You clearly have not see the Yankees this second half
@@derekwang7330
Judge has been doing it all and barely keeping them in the AL East lead.. 53 Homers.. He is the offense..
OK, so Judge is clearly a better hitter and has more dingers this year. So, give him a Hank Aaron award. That's why the award is there for.
MVP should go to the Most Valuable Player. Most valuable not for the team, but for MLB and the baseball. It is clear that it should go to Ohtani.
The problem here is that we have been giving MVP to too many hitters for years and not to the pitchers, made us forget what MVP really meant.
Judge is leading major league baseball in like six categories. Highest WAR in baseball and his team is going to make the playoffs. He’s the MVP.
@@dbreiden83080 Yes, I agree with you to a certain extent. Judge's performance really stands out in 2022, but Ohtani's overall 2022 performance stands out in past 100 years. This doesnt mean he should win MVP every year, but he should be awarded for the achievement that noone has done in the MLB history. Judge is most valuable to the Yankees, as oppose to Ohtani being more valuable to the overall baseball.

Justice is the way of thinking of the aggression nation quite a strong team.
The thing is Ohtani achieves that in Angels
(Coal + Judge) < Ohtani ? (at least this week)
Players like Judge come once every 10 years. Unicorn like Ohtani comes once in a century...

11勝防御率2点台、30HRの日本人投手とか漫画の世界だよな。しかも、200奪三振、100打点の可能性もあるんだから
Two giants of the game today
Showtime is truly amazing
Judge is having one awesome year too
Baseball the winner
Which would you choose if you were a coach? One 55 home run hitter, or one 33 home run hitter plus one 11-win pitcher. which one is better for the team? 1 person? Two people? Ohtani fills the role of both. I think Ohtani is the most valuable player.
I think we need to embrace Ohtani more. Or else Japanese players won’t come to the US anymore. We are so lucky to have Ohtani playing in the MLB. It’s a shame these American sport casters think about a foreign player. We are so lucky be witnessing true greatness. If Ohtani was an American all this would a different story.
If Otani does not take the MVP, popularity of the baseball is never restored.
And the United States disgraces itself.
I image the winner of the match of 11 judges vs 11 ohtanies.
It will stay in the 1st inning for a long long time when Judge pitching.
@@user-du9gu6qe2s 😆
If shohei makes it to 40hrs and 14 wins.. no matter.. make him mvp again.
Battle? Ohtani is top 10 on both sides of the ball and steals bases it’s not even a competition
Um, Judge is leading the entire MLB in HRs and RBIs. Ohtani is batting a mediocre .267, and is not even among the top 5 in the AL for ERA or WHIP. You're right it's not even a competition though. Judge is the clear MVP.
@@derkardinal9781 数字で議論したいなら全ての数字を出そう笑
@@heroge0153 I gave the important ones. Maybe I should add the fact that the Angels have one of the worst WL records in baseball.
@@derkardinal9781 ジャッジのERAとWHIPはリーグで何位だい?
@@derkardinal9781 ONLY if he gets 62. Saying things like, "Judge is doing things we haven't seen", is just false. 2017 Stanton finished the season with more home runs, last year Vlad Jr nearly had a Triple Crown. In 2017, during his Judge's Rookie of the Year campaign, he had 52 homers, in 2019 Pete Alonso hit 53 for the Mets.
Hitting 50 home runs before the start of September? Judge is the 7th player to do it. Stanton did it, multiple players did it MULTIPLE TIMES. HE IS DOING STUFF WE HAVE SEEN MANY TIMES BEFORE. Ohtani? Literally none bro.
Ohtani and Judge are the mvp of this season. But Ohtani is the MVP of the century.
What's concerning is that there is more Yankees fans than Angels fans in the crowd, you could tell by how much the cheers were divided: Ridiculous
おーはよぅございまーす!
Judge is def the best hitter in this year but not the most valuable player, no offence.
But I heard the Yankees stadium is small. That's not fair.
61 HR is only an AL record right? thats way behind what Ohtani is doing. I would say judge MVP if he breaks the MLB record.
oh, Ohtani already broke tons of MLB record this year.
Judge is doing some one did. Ohtani is doing no one did.
Theres a future HOF and then theres the future GOAT. MVP awards wont do Ohtani justice. The MLB is going to have to make a new award named after Ohtani.
Ohtani? Are you kidding me, low numbers vs triple crown player, the're wrong so wrong
Dingers
So it’s a guy that averages 49 hr every 162 games vs a guy with an almost .900 ops and a sub-3 era. Honestly, I have absolutely no clue who’s gonna win
Judge is MVP imo
大谷、投手なんだけど。
there is no battle it is judge mvp to lose
judge is the mvp this year. sorry
@@xdewy so playing outfield makes up for 176 SO and 11wins?
@@xdewy yes if he pitches
@@xdewy I want judge to win because he deserves it way more than Ohtani but he won’t only because judge doesn’t pitch. It’s not fair
It was an epic battle between two Living Baaeball LEGENDS. The two main characters of baseball slugged it out in a 3 game series and DELIVERED.
THAT. WAS. AWESOME!!!!! !!!!!!!!
Aaron judge is a much better hitter this season however the ONLY reason Ohtani will win MVP is because he can pitch. It’s not even fair
Shoehei does not just pitch but pitch at a elite level (tope 5)
Yet Judge lost last night vs. a hitter not a pitcher when it counts! Clutch!!!
simply give Judge a Hank Aaron award then.
The problem is that the scale they use for MVP does not really fit to the uniqueness of Ohtani performance. Maybe they should establish another scale from now on.
Stop...Judge is carrying NY on his back. The Angels suck. Being great on a bad team means you couldn't carry them even with Trout as your teamate
Yes he is absolutely amazing but he even wants out
I'm a HUGE Ohtani fan, but you gotta give the MVP to Judge, because without him the Yankees would be struggling to make the playoffs instead of being comfortably in first place. In Ohtani's case, the Angels suck with him, and they would just suck a little worse without him.
Battle ? Only people the don’t know baseball says that. Judge is the only MVP
Only people that knows how to write should write.
Terrible grammar from both of yous.
sleep talk after you go to sleep
Aaron Judge is the clear MVP for this year. What, are we going to give it every year to Ohtani just because he happens to pitch and hit? He's batting .267, and isn't even among the top five in his league for ERA or WHIP.
He doesn't happen to pitch. He is one of the best pitchers. Something judge couldn't do if his life depended on it. He has a higher ops than EVERYONE on the Yankees but Judge and a lower Era than all the Yankees starters but I think maybe 1. Yall smoking crack if you think Judge is a given.
Ohtani is the top 5 AL starting pitcher. Right up there with Verlander, Cease, McClanahan, and Cole. He actually has the highest K/9 of the bunch.
@@wabio Sorry, he's not in the top 5 by ERA or WHIP. Those are far more important measures than K/9.
@@derkardinal9781 If you think so, but you know what will get him more votes with the writers? Being a top 10 hitter AND a top 10 pitcher. That's incomparable.
