Its all about the hip. Look at his right foot and how he uses it to help him open the hips with power that translate to the hands. Hip opening is so great it gives hands time to catch and adjust on every ball thrown at him. You can see his hands are always way beyind the hip adjusting and coming with power.

And then there's situational considerations like, how does this batter change their approach with 2 strikes or with a man on second?

Ohtani should be able to see in the mechanics of the pitch if that curveball is going to break the 'normal' amount or not.

Great match-up but i feel that the pitcher has the advantage. They set up the tempo of the game as long as it's not quick continuous throws. If your a hitter you're going to hit one hard if the pitch is one after another quick of throws
