Dragons breathing a flammable liquid(or gas) isn't something new. It is literally the only way for them to produce flames scientifically, by going down a similar route to the bombardier beetle.
Heck, both the HTTYD movies and the original HTTYD books explained how dragons could produce flames(or other such projectiles). Plus that's only 1 dragon simulation from what I can see.

About 5 years before the first HTTYD book was written, a psx game called Deathtrap Dungeon had a medieval style flamethrower that had a little flaming torch at the mouth of the gvn's barrel and its ammo was barrels of "dragon bile". If you pull the trigger it causes the bile to spray over the torch and well... do what flamethrowers do.

They can actually close their mouths and yet they look equally as horrifying even with their mouth shut.

Snow king ski lifts are still quite high off the ground, It would still be deadly to fall off.
The snot sucker is very real. My mom said the ones she had to buy for me when I were a baby didn't have a little mesh to stop the snot from going into the mouth, so you had to time it and stop sucking.
