First band I ever saw in concert back in 1977 just before Michael left. The visuals of Michael's black and white flying V & Pete Way's black and white striped suit is forever etched in my mind. I was only able to see them one other time on their reunion/final tour in the late 90's with the Strangers lineup. They played a small venue & did the set list from Strangers in the Night. UFO is a band you need to take a deep dive into. They don't get enough respect I feel. The lead guitarist here is Michael Schenker. Also you should check out Michael Schenker Group.
UFO were a hard rocking, and hard partying band. They were good friends with AC/DC. and the night that Bon Scott died from alcohol poisoning, he had been out drinking with the guys from UFO.
I’ve been into this band for 34 years now. Graduated 1991 HS and shortly after a few days later got into this band. Hearing this song for the first time ever was a revelation to me. So this brings a tear to my eye seeing you guys totally rockin out to this for the first time. Better late than never as they say. 🔥🔥🤘🔥🔥🤘
Excellent!! UFO has 13 LIVE Albums but NONE of Them come close to “Strangers in the Night” which is a mix of Live Shows capturing the absolute MAGIC of the BAND, and, Guitarist Michael Schenker, formerly of the Scorpions and younger Brother of Rudolf Schenker of the Scorpions. Amazing Guitar work. Every song is 100X Better and ROCKS HARDER on “Strangers in the Night”. Try “Love to Love” or “Too Hot to Handle” from this album. 😜
First saw UFO in 1980 in a small 350 people venue as a 19 year old kid not knowing anything about them and have been a fan ever since ROCK BOTTOM ROCK BOTTOM ROCK BOTTOM WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE ☝️🇺🇲💪😎👍🤙
A perfect representation of the late 60's, early 70's hard rock that was taking over our world. It was some of the best of the time. Music was changing so fast that it was hard to keep up. Just imagine the feeling of being stoned, having had a few drinks, most of your inhibitions gone, colored, flashing lights and dancing around the dance floor, not caring who's watching. This was the best time of my life.
UFO is one of those hard rock bands that deserve SERIOUS attention. Studio or Live, definitely check out more. Michael Schenker is a top tier guitarist who overshadows his older brother Rudolph (from the Scorpions - sorry Rudolph). Some more UFO songs to check out include: Love To Love Doctor Doctor Lights Out Try Me Alone Again Or Too Hot to Handle Only You Can Rock Me Electric Phase
I want to echo what everyone else seems to be saying. When reacting to a UFO song, you should refer to their incredible live album, "Strangers in the Night"! Unfortunately, the star player, Michael Schenker, left the band after this release (he may have even been gone by the time they were getting this live album together). It might sound very strange to compare a similarity between UFO & the Grateful Dead, but... Both bands REALLY sounded on the top of their game, when playing live, yet their studio recordings struggled to capture their live sound!
This is an underrated magnificent band. It deserve attention. The rock is very progressive and the outstanding guitar give flavor to the song with the percussion tagging along non-stop. I love it, the guitar solo reminds me of Terry kath from Chicago. The voice reminds me a bit of Led Zeppelin.
For decades I've described UFO as "the greatest rock band that almost no one has heard of". A massively under rated band and one of my favourites of all time.
Time for more ufo! Lol "I'm a loser" "Try Me" "Time on my hands" "Born to lose" All great guitar!! They definitely grow on you and this is my favorite all-time guitar player. For a long time he had a hard time playing live sober but in the studio they were bad ass.
The thing I love about the old rock from this period is the dry mix they used on the production, Not too much reverb so that it's right up in your face! Like early Black Sabbath, early ZZ Top, early Grand Funk Railroad, etc, had that _nice clean dry_ sound.
Lead axe Michael Shenker co-founded the Scorpions before leving. His brother Rudolph is still with the scorps and all through their prime. He's the handsome lad with the mustache. UFO? "Lights Out"
Been waiting ages for you to review UFO, guitarist is Michael schenker, who's brother rudolf formed the scorpions, loads of great UFO tracks lights out, doctor doctor, which you done the iron maiden cover and the natural thing to mention a few, also try the michael schenker group, seen him a couple of years ago played that rock bottom solo for about 15 minutes, fantastic
How these guys aren't regarded the same as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who and other big '70s band is a total mystery to me and everybody else who's ever heard them.
Now its time for you guys to go down the Michael Schenker rabbit hole. UFO is the launching point. He still plays & tours, & has many diff bands during his career. 👍👍
I enjoy your reaction videos and that Michael Schenker the German guitar player for the band is a great guitar player I’m 66 years old and remember listening to UFO back in the 70s, great guitar player overall good songwriter specially with a lot of his solos just the guitar parts in general. UFO is from the UK & Schenker I think is the only German guy in the band and probably by far the most well-known, but overall a really good band. I play guitar myself. Live in North Carolina.
Yeah, "Lights Out" and "Doctor Doctor" are definite must-listens. I'd also suggest "Armed and Ready" from Michael Schenker's solo band, the Michael Schenker Group.
The greatest band you've never heard of. Saw them many many times in the early 70s. Even better live, so underrated and all brilliant musicians in their own right.
MIchael Schenker is the brother of Rudolf Schenker, and sometimes played with the Scorpions as well. Great, great guitarist!! I saw him with his own group in Germany in 1983.
Wow! Flashback to Memorial Day 1976. Senior year, UFO was part of the lineup at a outdoor festival. Others artists, Bob Seeger, Mahogany Rush, Head East and REO Speedwagon. What a show.
Michael Schenker left the band in the 80s started his own band MSG ( Michael Schenker group ) Lots of good jams from MSG... From UFO obsession cd (Pack it up and go) ... Also Scorpions (Catch your train ) talkin about a power tunes....
It should be noted that as musical influencers go, UFO is considered a heavy influence on rock music In fact, Edward Van Halen got inspiration someone from the guitar riffs of Michael Schenker
@@OCWord yep. Back in the early days of Metallica, we saw a LOT of MSG shirts at those shows. Just about all of the metal bands loved Schenker. We all did and still do.

This song was recorded or released in 1974 but I don’t remember it until a few yrs after that. I was listening to this just now when my husband wandered into the room, brushing his teeth, and I asked "Remember this one?" He nodded his head and mumbled "...where do we go from here..." UFOs Strangers In the Night version of Lights Out is one of my fav rock tunes EVER!
UFO live is one of the best albums.
Yes, way ahead of its time. Hard to believe this was from 1974!
First saw UFO in 1980 in a small 350 people venue as a 19 year old kid
not knowing anything about them and have been a fan ever since
ROCK BOTTOM ROCK BOTTOM
ROCK BOTTOM
WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE ☝️🇺🇲💪😎👍🤙
A perfect representation of the late 60's, early 70's hard rock that was taking over our world.
Some more UFO songs to check out include:
Love To Love
Doctor Doctor
Lights Out
Try Me
Alone Again Or
Too Hot to Handle
Only You Can Rock Me
Electric Phase
Lights Out live next. But i love the rest of the songs too.
UFO Strangers in The Night, one of the BEST live albums ever.
UFO masterclass in how to rock .....fortunate enough that this was my teen era ! .....nothing like it since ....
The lead guitarist is Michael Shenker, a guitar legend himself, brother of Rudolf Shenker, guitarist from Scorpions.
Strangers in the night, one of the best live albums of all time
UFO kicks ass! More people need to know about them.
Time for more ufo! Lol
"I'm a loser"
"Try Me"
"Time on my hands"
"Born to lose"
All great guitar!!
They definitely grow on you and this is my favorite all-time guitar player. For a long time he had a hard time playing live sober but in the studio they were bad ass.
Great song, but you should listen to the live version from their album "Strangers in the Night". In fact all UFO reactions should be from Strangers.
The engine room is just KILLING IT! Michael Schenker ain’t no slouch either ;)
I am happy you noticed the great drummer Andy Parker. I have him ranked high on my list of favorite rock drummers.
Seriously Pete Way and Michael Schenker together are just electric
I enjoy your reaction videos and that Michael Schenker the German guitar player for the band is a great guitar player I’m 66 years old and remember listening to UFO back in the 70s, great guitar player overall good songwriter specially with a lot of his solos just the guitar parts in general. UFO is from the UK & Schenker I think is the only German guy in the band and probably by far the most well-known, but overall a really good band. I play guitar myself. Live in North Carolina.
The Michael Schenker Group is a must-do follow-up reaction.
One of my favorite rock bands of all-time! These guys were incredible live. I was fortunate to see them in their prime in the 70’s.
Yeah, "Lights Out" and "Doctor Doctor" are definite must-listens. I'd also suggest "Armed and Ready" from Michael Schenker's solo band, the Michael Schenker Group.
UFO is easily the Most Under Rated Hard Rock Band of their Era!!! Check out Love to Love and Lights Out!!!
Only three words need to be spoken, "Love to Love"
Great song for sure 👍
The greatest band you've never heard of. Saw them many many times in the early 70s. Even better live, so underrated and all brilliant musicians in their own right.
MIchael Schenker is the brother of Rudolf Schenker, and sometimes played with the Scorpions as well. Great, great guitarist!! I saw him with his own group in Germany in 1983.
Wow! Flashback to Memorial Day 1976. Senior year, UFO was part of the lineup at a outdoor festival. Others artists, Bob Seeger, Mahogany Rush, Head East and REO Speedwagon. What a show.
Michael Schenker was a time traveler!! Had to be!
GREAT band!!!
UFO Love to Love you two would absolutely adore that one...
"Light's out" should be the next reaction song
Lynnwood 😈 Brian- Yeah baby 🛸 UFO were one of my favorites in my 20's.
The entire Lights Out album is great. "Try Me" is a masterpiece.
Michael Schenker left the band in the 80s started his own band MSG ( Michael Schenker group ) Lots of good jams from MSG... From UFO obsession cd (Pack it up and go) ... Also Scorpions (Catch your train ) talkin about a power tunes....
UFO LIVE "Strangers In the Night" IS WHERE IT'S AT
Guitarist Michael Schenker was born in 1955 and this album came out in 1974. He was 19 years old.
It should be noted that as musical influencers go, UFO is considered a heavy influence on rock music
In fact, Edward Van Halen got inspiration someone from the guitar riffs of Michael Schenker
i also watched an interview with Kirk Hammett of Metallica saying Michael Schenker was one of his favorite guitarist of all time.
@@OCWord yep. Back in the early days of Metallica, we saw a LOT of MSG shirts at those shows. Just about all of the metal bands loved Schenker. We all did and still do.
We don’t get Randy Rhodes, Eddie Van Halen, Kirk Hammett, Dave Mustaine, Marty Friedman, or Alex Skolnick without UFO and Scorpions. Michael and Uli influenced an entire generation to be better than anything that came before them
FYI: Iron Maiden always starts their concerts by warming up with a UFO song before the stage lights come up.
This song was recorded or released in 1974 but I don’t remember it until a few yrs after that. I was listening to this just now when my husband wandered into the room, brushing his teeth, and I asked "Remember this one?" He nodded his head and mumbled "...where do we go from here..." LOL First song i remember of theirs is Love to Love, from 1977 when my husband and I first met as teens. That one has great lyrics & brings me many sentimental memories. Maybe you can give it a listen soon.
Blessings ❤
Pete Way who recently passed away was an amazing bassist
Hadn't heard of UFO before yesterday when i watched a clip on UA-cam about the best Metal songs from the last 50 yrs and this gem was 1974's best Metal song.
Strictly top shelf. They made great albums no fiĺler
Every song rocks
