    I find the redesignd by jsb love my k1 in .22, they shoot nice at 1023 to 1026 fps,
    I had the reg set to 140 or 14 for some and the power wheel on 27 clicks out.
    So i opened the power wheel fully then dropped the reg pressure untill it was 30fps above the required speed like you advised then turned the power wheel untill i gained 1025 fps
    And yes i always push the pellet all the way forward in the magazine.
    I little tip if you accidently leave the magazine rotating lever up and recieving a blow back, if this happens the presure from the plenham prevents the mag from moving and it is locked against a pellet between the mag and barrel, i found that if you empty the plenem the mag will become loose alowing me to gently push a plastic rod down the barrel and gently tap the pelet back into the magazine, this will free the magazine.
    Then re set your regulator and your good to go.
    This way it doesnt require a gun strip down.
    Great vid gregor, this information works perfect.

    Hello Gregor - Regarding the 2x2 rearrangement of the disk spring washers (referenced at ~9:30 stamp), do you suggest arranging all 27 disks 2x2 or to arrange some of them that way and possibly leave some washers out? I didn't understand from just this video what you were referring to. However, I saw a K1 assembly video by Fred Li that includes a diagram showing 3x3, 3x3, 3x3 = 24 + 3 = 27 washers. Do you mean all 27 washers should be arranged: 2x2, 2x2, 2x2, 2x2, 2x2, 2x2 = 24 +3 = 27 or something else?

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi. It is not really important how many washers you use, it theory, the more the better but you have limited space. So just use as many as you can fit. What is important is that you only use same configuration, so if you will set it up in 2x2, it should be only in 2x2 and in that case, you of course cannot use an odd number of washers... BTW: only go to 2x2 configuration if you want to shoot a low pressures. If you intend to use higher pressures, then 3x3 is still a better option.

    • @todddavidmoore
      @todddavidmoore 5 місяців тому

      Follow-up@@gregorkamensek3923Since I am a newbie, if I wanted to stick with the stock 3x3 set-up and still shoot as accurately as possible, how would you define the "low pressures" range associated with normal ~15-18 grain pellet weights? Would you estimate that range to be between 10 ~12 MPa (where the 2x2 set up may benefit)? Only asking since I may then wish to stay just above that pressure range (say 12-14 MPa) with slightly heavier pellets (say 20-23 grain).

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  5 місяців тому +1

      @@todddavidmoore You can still get up to 200 bars on the regulator with 2x2. Benefits start at pressures below about 110 bars, but each regulator will behave differently. My suggestion is as follows. If you set the reg (with current configuration) to about 100 bars and set the power to shoot 18 grain JSB's at about 900 fps and have relative consistent velocity, don't change anything; or in other words, change it only if you have velocity inconsistency with those settings. There are other reasons for bad accuracy, when it comes to regulator, your measure is consistency...

Its system is interlock system, and the Hubin safety has no safety and its semi-automatic system and the Hercules without a regulator, but its shooting is close to the speeds like the regulator.

    Hi Gregor. Apologies if you have covered this but the regulator screw can be safely turned to increase AND decrease the regulator pressure at any time with the gun still being full of high pressure air correct?
    Also, does the regulator screw have a stop when you screw it out or will it eventually fall out and depressurize the whole gun if you keep turning it?
    I'm getting a K1 tomorrow :D

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  5 років тому

      Yes, unlike FX impact, you can safely increase or decrease the screw without damaging the gun. If you decrease, you will of course have to shoot a few times in order to see the effect but you will not damage it. The screw does not have a stop, it will go fully out. When the gun if pressurized (unregulated as well as regulated side) and you start to decrease the pressure (unscrewing the screw) it will come to a point where it will start to leak out the air (slowly) from the regulated side (plenum). This is a good way to either set lower pressure without dry fire or draining the gun for service:
      - Reducing regulated pressure:
      unscrew the screw until the air starts to escape put and pay attention to the pressure gauge. When the pressure falls just under the desired pressure, quickly turn the screw for about 1/2 of revolution to stop the draining. After this lovely increase the pressure (screw the screw back in) until you reach the desired pressure. As in darning procedure no air will be lost for the unregulated chamber in this process.
      - Draining the gun for service: simply unscrew the screw until all the pressure is drained form the regulated side. this will happened before you reach the end of the screw thread. the unregulated side will stay pressurized even if you fully remove the screw and there will be no danger. this is what I do when I disassemble the gun for service, no need to wast air and drain the unregulated side - unless you need to service the cylinder in which case you can disassemble the gun and then open the regulator to slowly drain the unregulated chamber

      - Reducing regulated pressure:
      unscrew the screw until the air starts to escape out and pay attention to the pressure gauge. When the pressure falls just under the desired pressure, quickly turn the screw in the other direction (clockwise - screw it in) for about 1/2 of revolution to stop the draining. After this slowly increase the pressure (screw the screw back in) until you reach the desired pressure. As in darning procedure no air will be lost from the unregulated chamber in this process.

      Hi Gregor, I tried to unscrew the power wheel today all the way as you suggested. I shot at about 140 bar on the regulator and the gun dumped all its air out the barrel. I disassembled the gun as per your disassembly video and found that the silver screw that the power wheel screws into the brass fitting attached to the action had completely fallen out. I put the silver screw back in and assembled the gun and everything was fine.It seems the power wheel should not be fully opened? Is this normal?

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  5 років тому +1

      @@jeanvanrooyen6004 Yes that is normal. For lower pressures (110 - 150 bars) especially if you shoot with heavier pellets/slugs, the power wheel should not be fully opened. For higher pressures, you can fully open it. In any case, it you get a big air dump, just turn the power wheel down.

    Great video, as always. I tried your method to open up power wheel and adjusting the regulator to achieve the ideal speed for pellets. But no matter how low I set the regulator, the speed isn't affected at all. 150 bar lets say 980fps on 90 bar still approx 980fps. The power wheel has been on a constant setting while adjusting the regulator (only one variable). The regulated plenum pressure gauge is changing with the setting on the regulator. But why doesn't affect the regulator the speed? Only the power wheel does change the speed. Any ideas whats going on?

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  2 роки тому +2

      Both those settings (power wheel and pressure) are interlinked. The power wheel needs to be opened further at higher pressures in order for the valve to be opened for the same amount of time. This is actually the same as on conventional unregulated PCP's, you will get a bell curve... The gun is however working very differently in both your pressure settings. With low pressure, the valve is opened much longer and the pellet acceleration in smaller and takes through almost all barrel length. With high pressure, the gun gives out very short but powerful pressure burst and the pellet is subjected to extreme acceleration at start but not much throughout afterwards in the rest of the barrel. The reason why the low pressure gives (or at least it should) better accuracy is because pellets are much more fragile than bullets / slugs and that extreme acceleration when the pellet is moving from magazine to the barrel causes damage to them and although the fly out of the barrel in the correct direction, the accuracy is lost because they start to spiral because they are damage and therefore not symmetrical anymore. I have a separate video that explains why pellets spiral...

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  2 роки тому +1

      BTW: if you will open the power wheel further (lets say 2,5 revolution), and use heavier pellets/slugs, you will see that the pressure does play significant role on power.

      @@gregorkamensek3923 Thanks a lot for explaining. So altough to higher regulator pressure, the timing "circuit" is working tighter and therefor the speed does not necessarily go up (at least on lighter pellets).

      Yes, that is because the pellets are not stable. This is typical for guns that shoot out of the magazine. For longer range, you should try my slugs. You can either buy a mold and cast them yourself: www.mp-molds.com/product/552-mm-air-rifle-pellet-8-cav-mold/
      or you can but the slugs directly here: www.ebay.com/itm/ZAN-Projectiles-slugs-pellets-22-5-52mm-100-count-35-5-gn/402577341111?hash=item5dbb7abab7:g:2msAAOSwX1xfvWzL

      Hi. Huben has a new series/version of K1 now. I haven't had a chance to test them yet but when I do, I will make a video. So it is not really appropriate to give you any suggestion as the gun you will get might work quite a bit different than the ones I have.

    Hi Gregor, I am thinking of purchasing a K1 sent here in the UK. I would have to keep it at around 560 FPS to keep with the 12 Ftlb limit here.
    Would it be accurate and consistent at this power?
    Thank you in advance. I would value your expert advice.

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  3 роки тому

      yes, it should be accurate. The biggest issue with consistency for this low power would be the regulator. Due to its very high pressure efficiency, you would have to operate at about 100 bars. In my experiences, Huben regulator does work quite well at this power, but the plenum is fairly large... (you will understand this if you watch the new video about regulators that I will release soon) I would like to point out that I have not yet tested the new .22 cal that will have a different barrel.

  • @arthur18a

    Hello, thank you very much for your answer.
    I watched your video "How to make Huben K1 shoot pellets accurately" in French subtitled version.
    I had some problems lowering my huben (.22 black) to 10MPA, but it's still too strong so I lowered to 9MPA and 9.5MPA but the magazine does not move properly, also best for my H&N FTT in cal5.54 and 14.66gr would prefer 8MPA.
    I believe that to solve my problem I have to change a spring at the level of the magazine barrel.
    Did you make this video or do you have a solution please.
    Unless the solution is to go to a minimum of 18gr to shoot at 10mpa.
    Also I have leakage problems at these pressures, when I make adjustments I have the drive wheel between 16 and 20 (from 0 no air delivered).
    I had leakage problems, the safety blocked many times during the nanometer settings, the huben which locks has 13mpa of air reserve when it is regulated on 10mpa then a leak during reloading...
    I apologize for all these questions, but it's horrible for me to settle, if you can put me the links of your videos I will watch them carefully.
    Sincerely
    Ps: currently I have 3 pellets out of 19 that hit and the others that go anywhere in an unpredictable way, yet I push each pellet to the bottom of the magazine.

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  2 роки тому

      Hi. K1 tends to have issues with operation at those low pressures, that is to be expected. I would suggest you use the pressure at which it works at and turn down the power with power wheel. I know that this contradicts with my instructions in this video, but safe and reliable operation comes first... I still think that you will be able to get good accuracy, especially if you use heavier pellets. My favorites are JSB Monster redesigned, for those, you can use about 130 bars...

      @@gregorkamensek3923 Hello,
      According to your recommendation, I tried 12MPA and 13 clicks, it is very precise (shoot after shoot) however I believe that the trajectory is bell-shaped and impossible to increase the number of clicks (to try to have a more linear curve ) because afterwards I lose the precision.
      On the other hand, it goes better with heavier pellets.
      I will continue to try.

      That is part of what is special about Huben: pressure efficiency (meaning you need relatively low pressure to get relatively high power). That is the reason why it is possible to get such high powers with Huben even with relatively low pressures. I can actually get 1000 fps with only about 85 bars, but the efficiency is not that good anymore and the gun gets quite loud...
