    This is a great airgun page. I'm glad I found it. Nice going, Gregor. Keep it up. BTW do you have access to Kalibrgun airguns?

      Yes, I own Cricket .25. I have been meaning to make a video about it, but this gun is so good that no modification is needed and most my videos are about modifications... I will make a review of it, it is the most accurate gun in my collection.

    At what altitude above sea level are you shooting? Also, what are your drop values at say 100 metres in order to calculate the ballistic co-efficient for the piledriver pellets. Thanks for a great review. You nailed it.

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  7 років тому

      I am shooting at about 270 - 300 m. Unfortunately the piledrivers are not accurate and I do not use them. Their diameter is too small. I talk to H&N at IWA about that. I mostly shoot my own cast bullets. I will be making a video about that. Mold and sizing die will be available for purchase. They weigh 37 gran and have BC of 0,14 (I measured it at that same velocity) and very accurate.

    Nice review and valuable information about the Heuben rifle, but the excessive force is not useful. The best power for hunting and shooting at a distance of up to 300 meters is from a force of 80 joules to a force of 90 joules on lead bullets from 25 green to 34 green for caliber 5.5 and the speed ranges between 270 meters to 290 meters This force is sufficient to kill the largest prey, but raising the regulator to its maximum will cause damage to the flower in the future.

    Just for fun I tried beast at about 210 bar regpressure. Made the same energy as you did with the piledrivers, about 120 Joule :-D The JSB Beast at 330 m/s is incredible from a 600mm barrel.

    Hi, Gregor. You continue to do very good job in your videos,as always very informative and well explained.I was wondering if you have the possibility to try a 22 SHORT bullet with that barrel.This type of bullet probably will handle well the twist rate on your barrel since they work in 1/ 20" twist rate barrels.You maybe know that, but on Lothar Walther`s web you can order pretty much any kind of barrel.Won't be cheap tho :)

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  8 років тому

      +admin mod Hi. I agree, it would probably work. But is is near impossible to get only bullets and I live in a country that requires a licence to buy live ammunition (you have to have the same caliber firearm registered...). And even if I did, I would have to take each round out of the case.... I have already installed 22LR barell form LW in my huben. It works great with JSB Beasts (34 grain) they are now stable, all I have to do is make them go faster than 1000 fps :) The JSBs are available cheap (at least here in Europe) and accurate. I am preparing a video form more details.

    • @adminmod7837
      @adminmod7837 8 років тому

      +Gregor Kamenšek Hi.I know that it`s pretty difficult to find those bullets,maybe a friend with firearm license,or just googling the exact dimensions,make them and find if it will work or not.Actually my idea was swaging the .22 piledrivers into 22 short bullets :) they are the same weight:30 grains .A good machinist to make the tools an just hammering those pellets into bullets :)I think you did the right thing changing the barrel,its the best thing to do in this case, I think so, because paying that amount of money for the gun and doing projectiles XVIII century style its not a good thing. Waiting for the video with the new barrel!Huben K1 in .25 cal or .30 would be a killer. Regards

      +admin mod I have one comment about that. It is a semi auto arigun. I would have to hire to be able to cast and swage as fas as I shoot :) I agree with you but not that heavier pellets are available for low price and are accurate, it makes no sense to do that. I would like to find a heavier pellet that JSB Beast though (about 40 grain) though...

    Kamensek Gregor Hello ! It looks very interesting Huben K1 regarding its trigger mechanism , but disappointing performance in clusters. The Lothar Walther barrel has Huben ? I'm from Argentina and arrive here in a month. I would like to buy one , but I'm not sure after seeing the video.

      +Bianchi M The barrel is high quality but it is a pellet barrel. That is why it is not as good with bullets. I am hoping that it will do better with the new JSBs. I will make a new video when I receive them. I also intend to case some heavier bullets (just under 40 grains) and try them out.

      +Gregor K Thank you very much for answering! Do you think you can achieve good groups 50 or 70 yards with 16 or 18 grains to about 1000 fps ?

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  8 років тому

      +Bianchi M Absolutely! This gun groups extremely well with this energy! The only problem I have so fare is with heavier bullets like 25 grain JSB monster or Piledrivers.... But I know what is the problem with the Piledriver, the ones I have have 5,52 diameter and they are too small for the barrel. I am trying to get them in 5,6mm...

    Gregor, Very good reviews. Have you tried the EunJin 28 GRN & 32.4 GRN pellets? they are diablo pellets and may perform acceptable at air gun velocities producing high energy. (may not be stable pass super sonic velocity.) in your First Impressions Part 2 video it would be good if we actually knew where your actual aim point was on the target and your group sizes at 50 yds. & 70 yds.(more k1 reviews please) thanks keep up the good reviews.

      +Gary HI. Thank you! I have just ordered EunJin 28 GRN for a test. 32,4 grn do not fit in the magazine as far as I know (too long). I agree about the groups and video is not very good, I was too eager and in a hurry to try everything I forgot to put in the video some information. The long range groups were at 70 meters (76 yards). Best groups are under 3 cm (about one inch...) with H&N Baracuda pellets. JSB heavy does not group so well, JSB moster is extremely unstable (even with lower velocities), I hope the new JSB Jumbo Beast (33 - 35 grain) will do better. We have very bad weather here and I am waiting to do another long range video as soon as it clears up...

      +wlbrycemt Let me know how UltraShock pellets work. These are not topically in our stores but I will order them if they turn out to be accurate. BTW, JSB Monster are terrible unstable, in all my airguns. I am mentioning this because Monster weighs the same as UltraShock, but the design is different so they might be accurate...

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  8 років тому +1

      I don't own (and have never tested it) Edgun, I do have Cricket in .25 and that gun is just amazingly accurate. If you sort you pellets you can get MoA accuracy. Huben on the other hand is great because of its features (not only semi auto function but the operation and the power it can deliver). But you will be limited to only one pellet and one power setting if you want is to be accurate and even then you will have flyers. I have put in this gun a lot of time and I still cannot tell what is the reason for the accuracy problems. Custom barrel does help but there are still occasional flyers... Don't get me wrong, the gun is a work of art, extremely well built and very reliable!

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  7 років тому +1

      Working pressure is not regulated by the power wheel, you can regulate it by the screw in the stock.

    • @alexanderneves2665
      @alexanderneves2665 7 років тому

      WHEN I ATTACK, THE WORK PRESSURE IS DECREASING VERY QUICKLY. IT IS NOT KEPT IN 160 BAR.

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  7 років тому

      Ok, I assume your regulator does not work properly... You should contact you distributor or Huben directly...

    • @Jeruzalemforever
      @Jeruzalemforever 6 років тому

      alexander, your regulator is the screw inside the stock, but when you adjust it to 200 bar: CLOSE the POWERWHEEL first (the powerwheel controls the valve to let out a certain amount of air, too much and air will blow out of the barrel and the pellet will never be accurate) Then start opening up the wheel again slightly to test the amount of power. (if you leave it full open then you will only waiste air and accuracy). If you want this gun to shoot accurate at high power (supersonic) dont even try pellets but buy solids (boat tail)

  • @alexanderneves2665

    Hello Gregor,
    great video thank. i have a question. i am from Holland and i have also a Huben K1 and i love it.
    But my Huben slowly leaks air...i dont hear it, but after a copple days the pressure is les.
    i went to the shop and mister Fred replace the o ring from the mano meter, but it still leaks.
    if i gently move up the little lever of the magazine releaser i hear some air escaping. is this normal?
    do you have any idea what it can be. sorry for my terrible english.
    greetings from Holland.
    Peter.

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  7 років тому +1

      I recently had a similar problem. In my case it was the o-ring on the 2,5 mm pin that rotates the magazine. The dimension for this o-ring is 2,5 x 1 mm I believe. You should get NBR 90 material, it will last longer. You should be able to find it if you watch my disassembly video. You can access it by removing the bras nut that is under the plastic where you load the pellets. DO NOT FORGET TO DRAIN THE AIR FIRST BY ROTATING THE REGULATOR ANTI CLOCK WISE UNTIL ALL THE AIR DRAINS OUT OF THE REGULATED CHAMBER!!!!

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  7 років тому +1

      Watch my Huben disassembly video from 16:00 on... You will understand what o-ring I am talking about. It is the o-ring on the steel pin, not the one on the brass.

      but i have question about de brass screw? do i turn it in all the way. my was not tight, and slightly loose. is this normal for adjust or someting.

    The ideal speed for most pellets is 900 fps or 270 m/s , your set was to high and it should be not accurate, what you did not show the real capability of this rifle. i hope that you reduce the speed and give it a try

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  8 років тому

      +Saleh Magrabi
      own many airguns in different caliber and have a lot of experience in pellet stability. To assume that all pellets in all barrels like the same same velocities is a mistake. Traditional airgun barrels with traditional pellets that are relative lightweight will prefer around 900 fps (274 m/s), some even less. Huben is not a traditional airgun and the pellets that I would like to use in it are not traditional. If you are looking for an airgun to shoot traditional pellets at 40j then you should not wast you money on Huben. There a tons of airguns that are cheaper than Huben that have great accuracy. Huben is about going to the limit with a limited power source. Obviously I have showed the chrony results just to show you the capabilities of the Huben, I would never shoot at those velocities with those pellets. The best group that I have shown in this video is with Baracuda Match at 305 m/s (1000fps). I have shown this group because it was the best I could get, Baracuda match did not shoot well in this gun at 800 fps or 900. I have tried it and shown you best performance. I have even tested the gun at 16 j (12 ft-lbs). Take a look at my latest video with Huben and see the accuracy I am getting now with a different barrel na 34 grain pellets and the wind was blowing like crazy. In conclusion: everything has variables that you have to take them into account, everything is relative. (I think that someone already said that before :))

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  8 років тому

      +Jeremy Rayner I assume it will, I have not tried for accuracy at those powers but there is no reason why it would not be accurate. But the problem is that it can be adjusted to higher power and will probably not be legal... Also semi-auto rifles are prohibited in UK as far as I know.

    • @ukrifles9094

      +Gregor Kamenšek My understanding is that semi is perfectly legal here under sub12 but above this it becomes a section 5 firearm. Same as the Styre H5 which is semi and sold here in the UK. Nice rewiev. Not any airgun shoot long range acurit if pellet leav barrel supersonic. Because it drops to subsonic before target and from supersonic to subsonic cause inacuracy. I never have see any airgun shoot good if supersonic, same what twisrate barrel. My airguns, Airforce Condor .22 cal. FAC. Steyr 110 HP .177 cal, Steyr 110 Field Target FAC. +Gary Billington Hi. I have recently changed the barrel on my Huben with .22LR (LW). An I have great results. I will finish my video in a day or two and post it to UA-cam... I don't think I will try smooth twist because I am satisfied with .22LR, but from my understanding smooth twist would not be a good choice for such high power... I might be wrong though ...

      hi, i assumed with the impact and boss being in excess of 80ft/lb that the smooth twist would be more suitable, i never considered a rimfire barrel. i'll look forward to the new video

      +Gary Billington Yes, but Boss and Impact are .30 cal and the pressures in the Huber and WAY higher and the acceleration as well... 80ft/lbs is not a high energy for .30 cal, but for .22 cal it is quite big, almost as high as .22LR...

      i didnt realise there was such a big difference, do you think that they will introduce the bigger calibre in the huben

    Have you tried any of the bullets from someone like Nick Nielsen? I've found his slugs to work very well in my .25 Marauder, and my .357 Bulldog. His heavier ammo might slow down the projectile and improve accuracy.

      +Frank Hieber I have looked at his web page, but his .22 bullets are quite light, only 22,5 gr and the dimension is .217. LW barrels are are about 0.2216 and this pellet would probably not be very accurate because it would be too lose in the barrel (same problem with Piledriver). I would have already order them if I was from US, but the shipping to EU + custom + tax is too high. I am looking for something in a range of 40 grains. .22LR bullets would be perfect but are hard to come by. I do have some heavy pellets / bullets ordered, I also intend to cast some heavy bullets... I will probably have a new video in about 2 - 3 weeks.

      +Gregor Kamenšek Might be worth talking to him anyway. I believe he can customize the size to a certain extent if you want heavier. The Diameter might be an issue though.

    Realy a high power airgun.. but i think this is the worst accuratie in airgun world. I believe because the power is too big for 15 - 25 grain pellets. You should be use heavier pellet like Eun Jin 32 grain to increase accuratie.
    and i sugest using atau lease 1:17.7 or more rifled barrel to reach better accuratie in high power.
    But this is a good regulated airgun anyway...👌👌👌 bravo Huben.

      +TheWelshman50 I assume the problem is in the barrel again. I think it is not choked and for best performance with pellets, it should be choked.

    Great review, I think you and I have the same experience in
    testing the K-1. I did find I could shoot the pile drivers good at longer
    ranges but only at a low velocity..www.airgunnation.com/topic/huben-k1-2/
    We are both testing the same pellets, so let find something
    that does shoot in the K1. I also might reach out to LW and see if i can get a different
    barrel.
    Thanks

      +William Bryce Hello! Yes, I know your thread very well. Huben went with unchoked airgun barrel to enable user to shoot all kind of bullets at all kind of velocities. But they should put in a barrel with higher twist rate to enable those longer bullets / slugs to be stabilized by the gyroscopic effect. This gun shoots well all heavier longer pellets on close range but they are all unstable and start to wobble on longer ranges. It also does not shoot well the JSB Jumbo (they are stable though) because JSBs love choked barrels... It is quite frustrating. I am thinking to change the barrel as well with higher twist rate... The Huben does have high potentials in accuracy in all other features.

      +William Bryce BTW, how did the EINJIN work? I just got two tins and have tried them at close range and they seem very accurate. I am expecting that they will be unstable at longer ranges though. I am also getting some new 34 grain JSBs next week... (Jumbo Beast)

      Had hopes on the EINJIN, worked well out to 50 yards but had flyers at 75 yards you can see the spirals but only on some rounds I could get groups on 3-4 rounds that were .25 -.50"
      I still have to try the FENIX FX550 pellets they have a different skirt and construction.

      BTW, the Piledrivers I shot are 5.56 dia and shot pretty good out to 75 yards. I can shoot one into water to check on the grooves if you would like.

      wlbrycemt I have never tried Coal pellets (which is ironic since they are made approx. 50 away from where I live :)) let me know how they work. They are not so popular here and do not sell that much. I have already shot several pellets into water, piledriver had almost no visible grooves in it. I will give them another try with lower velocities this time. I expected to hear that about EUNJIN. What did you think about new JSBs? I saw that you got one good group with them.
