Here's an different (and older) version of this list by Djmermin: • Top 100 Electronic Mus...
Prodigy - Experience was huge part of my teenagehood and I still love it, especialy Charly :)
Azuliana same
Azuliana same they were one first acts I listened to when I got into electronic music two years ago thanks to my mum weirdly enough
Nice. My mum (metal and rock fan) introduced me to Kraftwerk :D she was like "since you like that electronic stuff listen to this" :) as exchange she borrowed my Rammstein CDs :D
I love your taste, pal.
Thank you, sir for more recommended electronic music choices.
Shpongle is awesome. I have all of their albums. Jean Michel Jarre Oxygene Part 4 is a fantastic electronic classic!
Nicolas jaar-Space is the only noise you can hear is also a great one!
Give these a shot!
C418 - One
C418 - 148
C418 - Excursions
Nicolas Jaar - Sirens (preferably deluxe edition)
Nicolas Jaar - Nymphs
Ben Lukas Boysen - Spells
Photay - Onism
Photay - Photay
Rival Consoles - Howl
Rival Consoles - Persona
Yosi Horikawa - Vapor
Not my top favorites list or anything but I think you'd enjoy them. :)
Excursions is going to be my next review, will probably briefly touch on One and 148 there
also talked a little about the Nicolas Jaar things in my review of Against All Logic a while back ua-cam.com/video/9CKAt1R4A2g/v-deo.html
The Residents, Suicide, Throbbing Gristle, Chris & Cosey, The Knife, Fever Ray.
Personally, I would put aphex twin's "selected ambient works volume II" and "drukQs" in the top 10, boards of canada's "geogaddi" in the top 20, and Daft Punk's "Discovery" in the top 30.
but it's still a great list and better than the list made by the critics.
I listened to Identity Sequence a few times before. Was happy to see it on this list
I am surprised The KLF appeared on this list. I think you should review there entire discography even when they were called The JAMS
Is the Windows 95 startup sound the first track on Another Green World? Brian Eno made the startup theme, ya know :)
Nice one. 👍 Obviously, Blastromen - Human Beyond album must be in the Top 20!
YO. I Specifically thought to myself "It's ashame he won't put Flying Lotus on here." WOW. Great decision.
If you wanna hear an really nostalgic lo-fi synth ambient record by Oneohtrix Point Never, check out Rifts, that shit's fantastic
Awesome list! I actually had a feeling you'd set SAW II a biiit further down the list, but I can understand why - I would also have put 3 more Underworld-albums and put Second Toughest in the Infants in my top 10, but that also goes to show how much the nostalgia and life-impactfulness is important, as I grew up with them. Also, since you put the underdog that is Cydonia by the Orb here, hoping to see Outpost Transmission by 808 State here as well ;)
unfortunately Outpost Transmission did not make the list. That album is great too but I didn't get to hear it all the way through until I was almost out of high school and as such doesn't have nearly the same nostalgia factor as the others
Totally understandable - as you mentioned, that does impact an album alot
You're right there's more to Jarre than Oxygene... Equinoxe ;)
Are you planning on doing album reviews for any jarre albums like you have with other artists?
15:04
Wait why did it play the sou- oh my gosh
15:05 Chemical Brothers? MY FAVORITE ELECTRONIC DUO. But I have a question...
ONE ALBUM BY THEM?
Good stuff - Gonna check a lot of stuff out.
I found many of my all-time favs and I can tell we share the same taste, hence I don get why Apparat(Walls), Ital Tek, Emika, Blanck Mass, Rival Consoles, Gidge, Dark Sky, Jon Hopkins, Kiasmos and Goldie(Timeless) not on this list?
not enough personal connection, simple as that.
also as far as Apparat is concerned Duplex > Walls but whatever lol
The Wonky Angle fair enough I reckon we need to have a personal connection from music I remember when I first heard the Walls album, I really had the emotional connection as I was as sentimental as that album!😊Sad that Apparat did not became groundbreaking as some other electronic musician like Dead Mau5. I think that album was groundbreaking. He plays violin, guitar and all sorts of things he sings on it. It a spectacular album. I hope he will come back with some serious stuff he is still pretty young. I would say he is the next generation, he is one of the most talented musician I ever seen.
Do you know Benn Jordan aka The Flashbulb? If you don't I think you might enjoy his work. Very interesting list though, quite a lot to listen to!
Yes! He is quite the talent!
hey man what do you think of The Orb's Orbus Terrarum? It's my favorite album ever
Would love a review of Chill Out. A wonderful record..baaaaahh
Hello, it seems almost all your picks are stuck in one genre which is mainstream IDM pop from the 90s. You had some cool picks on a few occasions. No Namlook, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, Ashra, Steve Hillage, Steve Roach or Schulze? I'll watch the third chapter. Maybe I'll be surprised. 😎
Hell yeah you like Shpongle.
i hope you do a full review on endtroducing
Can you do a best ambient album list?
Do you know "Bloodline" by "Recoil" (=Alan Wilder, Ex-Depeche Mode)?
I am really confused why this album is not listed o.O
Floyd, man. Ya gotta.
Jk, I'll stop mentioning it.
I created the list on RYM for you too: rateyourmusic.com/list/Marsvoltian/the-wonky-angles-top-100-electronic-albums-of-all-time/
Dude............................................................ no B12 on your list?!!?!
Make one special the prodigy hugs
I NEED #20-1 NOOOOW
Can you do a leftfield discography review
idk if I have enough to say about them to do a full series but I did review Leftism and express pretty much all the thoughts I have on them there ua-cam.com/video/HGdBdMEXvJs/v-deo.html
Crazy Itch Radio god yes. Probably the most underrated electronic album ever.
Oxygene is not pronounced Oxygene :)
I think Push the Button is one of the worst Chemical Brothers albums
