These buses are some of the best in terms of comfort. Huge legroom, even with putting my bags and shopping in front of me (I'm 5'3'), comfy leather seats, the option for table seats and USB charging ports. All for £4 return!
It's well with it. Just remember to allow enough time as it is a long journey, my video is edited so it is not the full length. I hope you enjoy the ride. Thank you for watching and commenting.
wow -I spread this over 3 days - but highway (A47) with fields of corn, rape seed and cabbages (?) with side trips to Wisbech, Swaffham and Dereham are delightful. I follow with audio off but a track or 2 from Spotify. And I follow on AtoZ map. Fen country is beautiful at this time of year. Tx.
Good idea to watch the long videos. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I like the Norfolk countryside. I also did the coastliner 36 from Fakenham to King's Lynn you may enjoy that too. Thank you for watching and commenting

Really looking forward to that. ☺️Thank you for filling in many of the gaps no one else had filmed and for all the interesting new routes and areas you've shown us! 🙂
And to think it extended from Norwich to Great Yarmouth - Gorleston then Lowestoft another 2hours making a full trip 5.2hours when it was route X1 arguably the longest bus route in England - I used to be a driver for this route and FirstBus Norwich even with the split of the route Peterborough - Wisbech - Kings Lynn - Swaffham - Dereham then Norwich is still over 3hours.
Who is responsible for trimming the trees so that the buses clear them? (For an Aussie, it's hard to get my head around the fact that the foliage grows right up to the edges - and over the top of - the highways.)
Yep I know what you mean. In the good old days before the UK was rung by accountants the bus companies often used an converted bus to provide the facility for bus company staff to trim back the trees and remove obstructive wood and foliage. That's all gone. Now on nearside the Double decker are generally equipped with a Bull Bar which smacks the tree first and protects the bus from damage and the passengers from broken windscreen! I am a frequent bus user in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire and have experienced some horrendous bangs when bus comes into contact with overhanging branches! .
Would you ever do the full route again, but this time on the Excel C? It calls at all the villages between Wisbech and Kings Lynn, but its fast between Peterborough and Wisbech as it bypasses Thorney and its direct from Swaffham to Norwich as it bypasses Wendling, New Scarning, Dereham and Hockering.
I'd like to do A & C but I don't know when. I only film on Saturdays unless I have leave from work. Thank you for the details on where C goes. Thank you for your comment
C's definitely run on Saturdays, best day to go on A's is Sunday as all Excel Services all run on A's which calls at all stops. A's do run everyday even though Monday- Saturday you'll see A's mainly in early morning and evening times
I always knew that Norwich was a considerable way across from Peterborough and Cambridge direction but it's only when you are seeing it like this are you appreciating just how far.
It is a distance from Peterborough especially with the bus as it takes a specific route. It was my first time in Norfolk county and I liked what I saw. God willing I will return. Thank you for watching and supporting the channel. I appreciate it 🙏
@@busouting I am sure that Norfolk is a chosen area by the government for to spearhead Hydrogen fuel technology for use in cars, vans, buses and trucks etc. As well as other uses. Particularly the North Coast near Cromer.

Well, that was an annoyingly loud travelling party. First of all these badly behaved brats, although I was surprised that nobody said anything at some point. I always make myself unpopular in such cases when I tell the parents to please slow their children down. Then there was the woman who talked without interruption and the guy who thought that everything he had to say was so important that it had to be heard within a 10-mile radius. That some people just aren't able to talk at a normal volume, but always sound like they're standing on a stage and giving speeches.

I can't get over how cheap the fare is. That's 90 miles (140+ kms) for less than AUD$5. 😮 Down here that distance by bus/coach would set you back around AUD$25.
The government has subsidised bus fares for most companies here in England until December 2024. So most fares are £2 for a single journey for the companies that are part of the scheme. I like it especially with this type of channel. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate your support
Can't really decide if the young woman with the loud voice is Australian or American. Certainly the young men who are with her sound much more local, Southern England but definitely not London. They sound like they are really quite relaxed and enjoying themselves but a again could do with just turning the volume down a wee bit. I know that some people would obviously say that you shouldn't really listen into other people's conversations but like most situations I think that is a two-way street and I would argue that when people talk as loud then they make it very challenging not to listen. They have a responsibility to themselves and to everyone else who is using the bus or train to be more aware of their level of noise. This is one aspect where I definitely think that we miss a bus conductor. Because the train guard would just say to them quite politely to turn the volume down.
I think the young woman was an American. I noticed you get more chatter on buses in summer, winter time people tend to be quiet. It's hard not to listen to conversations when people are loud.
@@busouting yes, exactly but the good thing was it was clear that they were no real threat to anyone and they were obviously in good spirits which is nice to see. However my experience with Americans is once they get started in a situation like that they don't really know when to stop talking. During the winter months people can seem a wee bit subdued due to lack of sunlight, bad weather,, seasonal illness or simply SADS where some people just get a wee bit down due to the different seasons. But obviously it's a bright Sunny afternoon and the trees are looking beautiful.
I used two different devices. This part was filmed using a GoPro, it's useless for these types of videos. I wasted my money. The phone is way better for filming but it can't film for more than one hour as it overheats. These are challenges of making these sorts of videos. The things that the viewers don't see.
