    Silly question and I'm embarrassed to ask but I'm curious...the big mac salad...you're mixing the meat in with the salad so you're obviously not warming the meat before tossing it on the salad when you eat it. Does the meat get "funky" when it gets cold? Do you know how ground beef/turkey gets like a fatty texture in the fridge before you reheat it? Sorry for the weird question.

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  5 років тому

      Hi Dena! One thing about my channel that many have learned is that there are NO weird questions! :) Sometimes they're just things I don't think to mention during prep. I will say you aren't the first one to ask about this, so definitely the next time I make it, I'll be sure to mention it. For me, I didn't heat it. I just mixed it up and ate it cold like that, but I like it that way. It didn't get funky or odd-tasting to me at all. I do know someone else who made this and they kept the meat in a separate container so they could heat it up before adding it to the salad. So, you could maybe try it both ways and see which you prefer. :) So, please, ask away on anything! :)

      Hmmmm....I'm not sure, Tamson. I just use the WW recipe builder when I do my recipes, so I don't know what the calories add up to because I don't add in the zero-point foods in the calculator. That's not a bad idea for me to start doing that though so people who calorie count can have. I may start working on that down the road.

      @PlanningUsHealthy  5 років тому

      Here you go! Just remembered I have a cook with me video for that too. That link is here as well:
      BASIL-PARMESAN SALMON - 2 FSP per serving, makes 4 servings
      Recipe adapted from Skinnytaste:
      www.skinnytaste.com/parmesan-salmon/
      My Modifications: I used Hellman's light mayo, which brought the points down from 3 FSP/serving to 2 FSP/serving.
      My Cook with Me video is here:
      ua-cam.com/video/TSPNpYbOPAs/v-deo.html
      My portion in the Cook with Me was actually a third, so I counted it as three. Mine took 7 minutes to cook. I also opted for no rice when I sat down to eat! :)

    Your written recipe doesn't say anything about relish. Or where to put onion

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  5 років тому +1

      Hi Debra! When I made this original recipe, I didn't used to use relish. I occasionally add it. I should have mentioned that in the video. I checked the recipe online. I do see where it says to add the red onion, and then for the regular onion, that's listed in the sauce ingredients and it says "add all sauce ingredients". Was that the one you were referring to? I am thankful for any typos or anything you find that needs to be fixed though! :)

I seem to be getting a lot from this meal prep video - not sure why or what I did differently, but I LOVE having new friends!! Yes, you CAN get back on track! Take one day at a time! My best advice is to try to pre-track your day the night before, even just for a day, and then eventually get to where you are prepping more than one day or just a meal. I always start my tracker based around dinner since dinner is my biggest meal. Then I work my breakfast and lunch around that. So glad to have you here with us! OMG Lori, we are LOVING it!! And I got those at Dollar Tree!! $1 for like ten of them. Same with the round ones that I put the sauce in. They aren't sturdy. The lids don't snap on, so you definitely have to be careful with them, but they're perfect for so many things. If I'm packing them in with stuff, I just pack them in a brown paper bag so they don't spill.

      Hi Alexa! I live in the south and that's just something we say here. I do appreciate any critiquing. While I've been meal prepping for many years, I've just started my channel five months ago, so I'm very new to the recording and editing side of things, and I do everything myself. I'm still getting used to talking to the camera, so to speak. At this point, my goal is just to help people with weight loss. I do appreciate your comments and suggestions though! :) I certainly wouldn't want to listen to someone who sounded annoying either, so I completely understand! :)
