1/3 cup per 5 gallons- I'm getting ready to do my first prime with honey for a 5 gallon batch. I know you mentioned boiling the honey, but you were talking about pounds. Was that for mead? For beer do you boil the 1/3 cup or just warm and add to the bottling bucket? Thanks! Sorry i'm a newb still!
No worries, we have all been there :-). Yes I was talking about mead, but also some honey beers take about a pound to a 5 gallon batch (before fermentation). You have some options, honey is itself an antimicrobial so you do not have to boil it; I warm the water until I see the small bubbles; then turn off the heat and add the honey while stirring :-).
