Best value card I opened so far was NAB Platinum Rewards, 95$ annual fees, spend criteria of 1K first 2 months, Sign-up Bonus was 60K Avios + 12K velocity 20% bonus. All in all 72K velocity for 95$ which been used for 1 way business class to South East Asia!
I’ve been eyeing this card for a long time but not sure if I’m ready for a credit card or whether I actually need one. Any tips for a beginner for myself? I’m 19 but want to build my credit, then again lot of people saying it’s not needed in Australia…
Love your videos, especially the ones on churning. Hadn’t considered churning velocity since I’m fixated on qantas. I think this video has changed my mind because of the velocity to avios redemption. Perhaps you can do a future video on avios. Anyways, keep up the good work!
Hi Raymond, I absolutely love your videos man, keep it up please. I have a question that might be a little stupid, but can I pay off my credit card bill with another credit via BPAY to meet the spending criteria easier for the new credit card. I hope this makes sense. Also, I’m not sure if you’ve made a video about this already but if not I’d really like to know if you have any special tips for increasing your credit score. Thanks in advance man!
Excellent video. out if curiosity, why wouldn't you use HSBC star alliance credit card? Wouldn't that give you better options for Krisflyer points? Along with the golden tier?
New subscriber here, enjoying your videos as I’m new to the investing and points game. How long do you think is best to wait before applying for a CC again after just closing one?
Thoughts on the benefits a teacher would get from a travel credit card I was about to open a AMEX explorer but someone at work said that u get next to no flight options on school holidays.
Hi. Love your tips. Do you have any tips for domestic flights within Australia? I’m having no luck even getting the site to load , have tried using the app, google chrome , etc etc. so frustrating
Hey there, domestic flights should be easier to find and book reward seats for. Which site are you using specifically? Both qantas and virgin appear to be working fine on my end.
Hey bro I hope you read this comment what’s the best travel card for domestic and international flights it’s so confusing which one to choose but I just want a personal credit card that I can spend daily with cumulate points
@@alaaali5275 hey man, can you clarify what you mean by travel card? As in a card you can use whilst travelling to not incur any international fees? Or just a personal card to use on a daily basis for expenses and booking flights?
Not necessarily, I assume a bit of prior knowledge as to how credit cards work in my videos. If you want to understand how cashback would specifically work I have other videos talking about this
Haha you can still churn without a partner! I’ve been doing it for years, you just likely can’t go through as many. When I was doing it alone I was going through 3-4 cards per year

6 months of Spotify and Netflix yearly or first year only?
@@yawie22 it’s for the first 6 months only unfortunately, unless you get the rose gold/icy white cards and above

What happens to your credit score when you open and close credit cards?

Appreciate the feedback!
Just churned my first card. 30k velocity points from westpac altitude rewards platinum in 6 weeks. Thanks!

The HSBC credit card is most likely the next card that I'll sign up for actually!
Have you considered the Citi Prestige? It looks really good now especially with 150k bonus sign on bonus

I wish you were the 24/7 person showing how to book flights. I am new to the game and am nervous to book next year via Qatar using my Amex points.
Get the Venture X and Amex Gold. Makes for a great combo.
when mentioning a 'keeper card' are you meaning the card you hold onto all the time? Not just the cards you're burning through for points?
Correct!
Thoughts on the benefits a teacher would get from a travel credit card I was about to open a AMEX explorer but someone at work said that u get next to no flight options on school holidays.
School holidays will always be hard to book reward flights for, you'll essentially need to book 1-year in advance.
which is the best highest earning/value velocity card?
Review the Kogan Credit Card please

@@raymondla that’s weird, Qantas. As I said we’ve tried different computers search engines etc. maybe it’s the dates we are looking at ? Thankyou 🙏🏻
Does buying gift cards generally count towards your cc expenses?
@@tonyly9125 yes they do! And a good way to meet your spend criteria
I’ve got about 500k Qantas points now. Would you recommend that my next credit card to churn should be a velocity card? I live in Perth.
I personally like a mixture of points, that’s a heap of Qantas points! So earning some velocity points might be a good idea!
@@raymondla thank you 🙏 I’ll do that 😀

Can you transfer MR from the plat edge to Qantas
No unfortunately not, only the Platinum card can transfer to Qantas!
To say cashback without any explanation is a bit misleading, don't you think?

@@raymondla There's a lot to unpack there, let me just say CRO Rewards* on every purchase is not cashback.
