- This trailer was originally uploaded by Black Plasma Studios as a pitch for a full animated series, but has since been removed by request from Topps and the animated series has been canceled. This trailer now serves solely as a fan-made advertisement for the Online Game created by PGI and is not a part of the official MechWarrior brand.

I mean this why I been getting more into the table as of late because of crazy shit you can do in melee.
The sound is a little underwhelming, feels like it lacks weight, but otherwise, very impressive

? your missing the comic releif as it slow pans to an atlas being circle straffed by a pirana with machine guns screaming ahh Ahh! get it off me Geet it off me!! . then a phoenix hawk steps in to help but just ends up laser burning the atlas more as the pirana is comically humping the back side of the atlas.. but then the urban mech shows up.. and Ac20;s the pirana

Not sure what the last clan mech was, but whether the catapult could survive it or not isn't gonna matter

This is amazing work. Would be sick if they made a show for Mechwarrior with this animation style.
all those years ago, I would have been happy to be the one to do it. Sadly, main stream business holds too tight a grip on creative freedom. BattleTech/MechWarrior is in the unfortunate position of 'too unprofitable to be worth investing in' but also 'too significant to allow the community to use the franchise to create art freely'
@@RoANitrox That's a truly horrible place to be in, especially given the ample (enormous) community interest and willingness to invest in projects that flesh out the Battletech/Mechwarrior universe.
Imagine the potential of, say, a Star Wars Squadrons or Ace Combat/Project Wingman mod that let people get a taste of Battletech aerospace combat. Or a hybrid between the HBS Battletech and a Jagged Alliance 2 style of turn based infantry combat game, where you can play as a Cassie Suthorn-like character (or they could capitalize on existing material and you play as Cassie Suthorn) where not every action is between mech forces or the player killing swarms of vehicles. Where you may face mechs or tanks the way that they appear in the Jagged Alliance games, as sector-defining challenges that overshadow but also amplify the infantry opposition that fights alongside them.

This is not a criticism of this video (which is really cool btw), but MWO just... ruined the look of the Timberwolf and Maurader. At least the Catapult looks decent.
This really should be a thing now, shame Battletech is largely ignored by the entertainment industry. That super lame, poorly animated cartoon from the '90s put a long-lasting bad taste in peoples mouths, I guess.

You should do an updated trailer for 2020-2021 where PGI promises garbage for almost a year but never does anything until they lose half their high paying players.
Nice. If the stomps were pitched down a lot more with a little reverb the size of the mech would come through in the sound design. 50 to 100 tons of metal doesn't tip toe around.

It's going to be up to PGI to reach out to myself or someone else to work out an arrangement to produce animated content under the notion that it functions as 'marketing content' for the game. Unfortunately Topps won't allow the production of an independent animated series using the BattleTech brand

Very well done and a lot of care went into the lighting. The main issue left is the lack of atmospheric distortions, like dust being thrown up by walking or thermal trails. This would help add "weight" to the movement animations.

meh, personally I feel like I could produce a better show given the exact same budget and resources. Far too much money was wasted on unnecessary expenses like 'high profile' voice actors and such. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll have a chance to prove it in the distant future

It's nice, it just has no focus. It's absolutely all over the place. As someone else mentioned, too, the audio lacks oomph. A little bit of a 'story' might make this fit a ton better.
There actually was a full 5 minute short with a cohesive story that was supposed to be made from this, but unfortunately legalities stopped me from making it

Nope..stupid. Those mechs are SLDF; the only mechs that need to physically scan around for stuff is dark ages crap and agro-mechs. thumbs down. Theres also no hand to hand in MWO.

@@RoANitrox The people you are talking about are off playing chads in tarkov....i know that for a fact since i was in the alpha of MWO and on through 2017 or whenever it was when they did the sunspider giveaway. Never met a single person that played MWO because it was a "good" shooter, because its really not. Might as well say Crossout is a good shooter lol.. Feel free to keep on derping though bro.

I'm fairly new to the franchise but man would I give anything for a Red vs Blue-ish Mechwarrior/BattleTech series.
firstly, welcome to the BT/MW universe! Sadly, the trademark owners aren't as friendly to fan creations as Microsoft was with Halo and RVB. I would have loved to make a full web series out or MWO, but Topps' lawyers weren't too happy with the idea...
I'd love a full MW series animated in this style.
