That was impressive. I like how you captured the core of the Battletech strategies; like cockpit shots, melee (rarely shown in the newer games) and using self destruct as a weapon.
@@Stein871 theres a LOT of marauder (series 1s) that have other weapons on their head... that wasnt a mad2... that was a 75t mad1 it had its bog stock PPCs lasers and autocannon
@@Stein871 To clarify this is indeed a standard 75 ton Marauder, based on the Marauder-5M chassis with some slight modifications. I always imagine that due to the requirements of mission parameters or simply the attrition of technology in the Inner Sphere each 'mech would have some degree of alteration. In this case they basically stripped a little armor off to squeeze in a pair of CT/chin mounted small lasers.
Games Workshop has severely limited what 40K fans can create, so there's now waves of 40K fans coming over to Battletech and likely other brands, so we will likely see an upsurge in Fanimations.
This was really well done. It was nice hearing those vintage sounds, seeing my precious Raven, even as a redshirt, the contrast between Clan and Sphere tactics, you even made an Elemenal properly fast. Thanks.
Stellar work man. The battle grids, and planetary over shots... are amazingly done. But Ive just always been a fan of your neon wireframe skinning. Not sure if thats an easy effect or not. but it certainly is an visually pleasing effect, and application of it. Also see you have been really good, at looking over your scenes, and placing terrain in most scenes to remove the uncanny vally of animating on a flat surface. There was only one particularly glaring “set” in the whole animation. Over all glad to see you improving by leeps and bounds and not just feeling trapped making lore videos for a demanding public! Keep up the good work!
That was fantastic. And a perfect use of DFA! The tone of this video reminds me of D.C. Bruins' videos, in that it created character and personality through visuals alone, without any lines or dialogue. You do great work!
Awesome job! That's Battletech as we played it in the '90s. We didn't have such good animations, it was only in our heads. We had many epic battles like this...

2:17 Now that is one way to deal a Mad Dog. It's weakness is it's lack of Close Range Armament. The Marauder Pilot used his Armored Gauntlets to Pummel the Clan Mech into the Ground. Thats a Smart move.
I don't think I've seen a marauder do a DfA attack before. In our Mechwarrior games, the cost of rebuilding the legs was just too damn high. But then, we had the marauder II. For a mech built with 3025 tech, it was pretty good.
And now the thoughts running through the head of that poor mad dog pilot: Is that a museum piece coming at me? Frack! That's a museum piece with large lasers on it! Did that thing just punch me?!? All right here comes back up we got it now! Oh god he just shot it out of the air! Well I'm right fracked now aren't I?
Can just Imagine damaged cresting that hill saying on an open com " Hey Clanner I'm not done with you yet". Processed to hit jump jets. Fantastic vid did well capturing the scale and weight. Can imagine Hanson broke that Elementals spine.

Magnificent battle, a lot of heros give their life for others. But clan honor and order was needed for their success just as mutch the determination to fight to the last breath.
I can see a future Marauder pilot squaring up against a Clan Mech and smashing his cannons together like a boxer does when he has his boxing gloves on. “Ding! Ding! Clanner! Wanna go a a couple rounds?!”
Every time I watch a new one of these I dream of a remastered, modernized Mech Warrior 2 game that could look and play like this with the slightly cartoony graphics but hard-hitting, lethal, and realistic combat. And VR capable.

I actually love the visual style you've achieved here. Also, adore the oldschool designs. All around great animation, I would play a game with these graphics, screw modern realism and overdetailing.

Very nice work. It does feel a little like the IS won the retreat/battle but lost the war. A pilot of that caliber? He will be hard to replace... Would have been nice to see a longer slugging fight between the Marauder and the Mad Cat.

But too much weight can sorta negate the point of using them instead of tanks.
