Though shields arent a thing in Battletech I remember back when they’d crop up in the older games so this is nostalgic. By the way, I noticed the clan fighters mimicking that scene from the original Star Wars trilogy, with the TIE fighters swooping in. Nice touch. Oh, also, hey Smoke Jaguar! Remember when you still existed? You guys got genocided by my cell service provider. And the light horse nutjobs but the point still stands.
I'm glad someone finally noticed my Star Wars reference! That scene with the Ties always made the fighters so intimidating and the scene exciting I just had to make a nod to it at some point. I try to include various such cinematic nods whenever possible, though this might be the most direct recreation. In the Depleted video the Goliath has a lot of motion that directly mimics the AT-ATs in ESB, especially the "Target. Maximum firepower." pose. There's also the reverse nod where you can see in one shot of my Star Wars Sovereign video a battletech fighter (I think it was a stingray?) in the background of a certain shot. Hopefully I can make more to satisfy your SciFi interests further!
Additional cinematic references include the Outpost Assault video which draws heavily on the 1953 War of the Worlds battle scene and the Resistance video which has a mix of A New Hope and Flash Gordon strangely enough.
Farseer Animation nice work overall. I personally feel it is still intimidating with clan fighters even without the famous screeching. It kinda fits clanners.
When the houses formed a new Star League and decided "We're going to erase a clan", they picked Smoke Jaguar for a reason. Those "proud warriors" had committed the worst atrocities.
@@liquidleopard4495 I can't remember what they had done. They have only one suspicious activity on Turtle Bay, others were the same or better than IS. They didn't ruined planets as IS forces on Luthera or other clan planet. The didn't any raids after Tukayyid. Only IS forces did raids to clan space and now I repeat what they have done except Turtle bay, which was actually successful IS propaganda operation?
I'v loved Batletech since 3025 came out in '85. Spent many hours in the back rooms of Hobby shops, re-using Waterloo and Agincourt wargame tables, and many paydays worth of lead figures, each player coming up with his own Merc company...those were the days.
Those Jaguars have no clue what tactics are. Morons. Other than that, love the vid and the “nod” to the Star Wars Tie Fighter drop-in moment! Keep up the awesome work!
I will always consider Battle of Tukayyid and Annihilation of SJs as IS plot armor and dumming down Clans to ridiculous levels. ;/ At least Ebon Jaguar looks sick.
Think about the difference in man power and supplies, the only way the Clans could have won is if they invaded before the Inner Sphere unsealed the memory core and regained the ability to produce los-tech. Especially against the more ruthless houses like Kurita.
@@MrPikaGammer i do believe Clans should have lost, I always say that. But the way it was done was dumb as hell. Should have been war of attrition, where industrial power house and manpoeer of IS prevails superior tech and soldiers.
Capital-class energy weapons might have been more Battletech-Clanny. It would have been exciting for the Defense batteries to shoot at the planes, miss most. Maybe take down one. It would have been even more like Star Wars, I think, and may have been more in keeping with most people's understanding of Battletech technology.
Sorry to post a second comment instead of editing my other one, but I’d like to ask where the music is? It sounds similar to pyre light but also different.
Farseer Animation woah thanks I wasn’t expecting an answer. Very nice work. For some reason the watchability on this is very high. I’ve seen it like 6 times now just to analyze the different ships in use. The thing I love about it is how all combatants are using dropships and fighters. My favorite space battles are ones effected by the surroundings and environment and past events in the universe they take place in, and what makes this is so cool is how no warships are present because to the IS theyre lostech and to the clanners they’re too valuable to risk losing.
i kinda like the retro look....also MW5 just bothers me....the mechs are just to fast and don't "feel" like you are driving a 100 ton piece of metal ....
Who needs shields when you have kick ass armors. While i do like shields i do like that battletech has created specialized armor that designed to go up against energy, projectile, and missile weaponry. If not mistake clan snow ravens developed the best armor designs. Lord help us if any clanners or anyone develop shielding technology for their ships and mechs.

I think they mean shield as in coordinated units protecting it.
Oh... ok, they actually had a shield there... that´s non-canon.
There is the anti PPC shield of the old Steiner arena (Later turned into the Blue Shield of the Quasimodo)
I love the inclusion of Prye Light from Mech 2 during the skirmish. That was a well done touch my good sir. It sounded amazing.
There are no "shield generators" in the BT Universe. Oh wait. its been mentioned.... for years now.
Well..there is the Blue Shield PFD, 3051
Swap "shield generator" for "anti-orbital defences" and/or "anti-mech artillery", and it fills more or less the same function, in practice at least.
I adore how Star Wars this feels while also retaining the battletech setting. Just a perfect mixture of the two!
Aerospace pilots, the guys who make mechwarriors look sane by comparison.
Looks like a mission from star wars Rouge Squadron. Also I love Owens omni mechs.
I would have built that shield generator underground.
clanners aren't very smart huh
Jaguars will be always in our hearts. They were proud warriors.
more like SMOKED Jaguar! REMEMBER TUKAYYID! PAY YOUR BILLS FUCKO!

This is a lot better than i have seen in years! Magnificent video!
Man I would love a Battletech aerospace/Ace Combat game.
Man how do your videos not have more views.
I'm wondering that myself now that I've found them.
I like it all -except for the energy shield >.
The Smoke Jaguars are feeling the wrath of Operation Bulldog.
This is a great a great animation.
Makes it feel like I went back in time a couple decades.

Some do, but they're kinda high on their "genetic superiority" as a lot of the clans seem to suffer from. Tukayyid really opened their eyes a bit.

Got a Babylon 5 vibe from this one. Love it.
Blizzard should hire you since Blizzard is technically Activision. Get hired already.
We need a AAA rpg set in the battle tech universe
Feels very Mech warrior 3. I love it!
That was super cool!
Beautiful inclusion of the Achilles. Earned yourself a sub.
I love the space Battle! BattleTech is a great setting for space battles.
Drop ships are armed, dont see why they wouldn't be supporting
But regardless, amazing animation
This is great, but shields weren’t a thing in Battletech, especially not for a whole city :/
This is referencing the video games where they are a thing, specifically MW2. MW4 and GBL both have shields for structures as well.
Farseer Animation I guess, I can’t say I’ve ever seen those, but I guess it’s whatever. Despite all that, still really cool!!

This looks perfect can it be like war robots on mobile but this, but more multiplayer?
This is awesome! What did you use to put all this together?
Thank you! This was made in Lightwave, after effects, and was edited in adobe premiere
is this the PDA voice actor from Subnautica?
I love your videos. Some sweet nostalgia.
I dare to suggest to make pacing to rely on editing. Long shots make pacing to rely on what is on screen.
What is the music at the beginning of the video ?
Nontheless well done..
Wow! Nicely done. Keep at it.

sweet vid but man for true born clanners they missed their shots like chumps lol
Total Annihilation?

Recently started replaying Mechwarrior 3. Love the slight hesitation as your mech starts to move so you def feel the weight of the machine.
shield generators? what?
So fkn cool
did they put the shield generator out side the shield?
Their city planner graduated with straight Ds on his report card
epic
I like this animation. May I know the name of the mech at 4:30 in front of the owens battlemech?
Osiris.
