Aaron it's like you know just when we all need a video from you.
I had a minor operation 6 weeks ago and have been dealing with a post-op infection since. I've been sick for the past almost 3 weeks with a sore throat and earache. I had to be tested for covid yesterday to go back and have another minor surgery this afternoon to help clear out the infection. I was stressed all morning awaiting my covid test results. Negative, as expected. Got the surgery and am back home. The freezing was just starting to go and I was starting with a little bit of pain and here was your video at the top of my feed page.
You entertained me like always but I was able to distract from the discomfort at my incision site while watching you make me drool over your video.

I know this is an older video, but I was so happy when I looked back through your previous posts before I became a subscriber and found this recipe! I watched so many tornado omelette street food videos, but they never showed what they did to the eggs to make them that consistency, and now I know, tyvm!

The name "Tornado Omelette Rice" makes me sad. Please remember. It's not really a "Tornado Omelette Rice".
This is a Japanese "Dress de Omelette Rice"(or Dressed Omelette Rice). This dish was conceived and created by a Japanese restaurant. However, it was changed to a completely unrelated dish name "Tornado Omelette Rice" by Koreans. No one likes to have the name of their national dish changed by a foreigner to something that has a completely different meaning and then spread around the world. There is no respect for the creator who thought of and named this creative dish.
This dish is "Dress de Omelette Rice" (or Dressed Omelette Rice). The name comes from the fact that it looks like a dress.
Incidentally, in modern times, changing a name and acting as if you created it is called plagiarism.
I apologize to the contributor, but I wanted to let as many people as possible know about this, so I took this opportunity to comment. From one Japanese.

@@tokyo-me5oo I'm amending my comment, for some reason I thought you were claiming I called it "Tomato" when it's supposed to be "Tomado" because...cataracts. Anyway, after re-reading what you say, I now understand that you're not directing your comment at me specifically, but generalizing your disappointment that a Japanese recipe was renamed by a Korean (presumably they renamed it, I don't know who actually changed the name). Personally, I don't think it's an insult or showing disrespect because the recipe is very likely not an exact copy and preparation method. Many things, like products, recipes, movies, and books....they often get renamed when they cross borders, for instance, "The Fast & The Furious" movie was renamed to "Wild Speed" for Japan. I don't think it demeans the original recipe creator to copy, make changes, and rename a dish. This is how food evolves around the world, and it's been this way for hundreds of years.

Thank you for your reply. I do not speak English so I am using a translation software. Please forgive me if there are some strange points.
I understand what you are saying. I have some points that I didn't word well enough, but I don't think changing the name is a bad thing in itself. So why am I taking issue with this this time, Nowadays, when you take a dish from another country and change the name of the dish and spread it in your own country, it is common to disclose which country the dish came from. This is true in other countries as well. The same is true in Japan. If you don't want to make it public, you must not change the name of the dish, and even if you change it, you must not make it a name with a completely different meaning.
The first Korean restaurant to introduce "Tornado Omelette" has never publicly identified the dish as Japanese. Then we changed the name of the dish to something completely different in meaning. Therefore, people in Korea believe that it is an original dish made in Korea. And then they spread it around the world as Korean food. In fact, I had a discussion with a Korean who claimed that "Dress de Omelette (Tornado Omelette)" was an original Korean dish. The person wasn't convinced, but when I sent him the URL of the oldest "Dress de Omelette" video that I found on UA-cam, he didn't reply, so I think he finally got it.
”Tornado Omelette" is very often presented as a Korean dish in the world. However, those who spread the word are not responsible for this.
Many Japanese know that "Wild Speed" is an American film. Because they have been informed. Even if they don't know that it is an American movie, they all know that it is not a Japanese movie. The titles "The Fast & The Furious" and "Wild Speed" are not so different in meaning.
Finally, unlike in the past, in modern times, plagiarism is the act of changing a name to something else and not disclosing that it was invented by someone else, and acting as if it was invented by oneself.
Sorry for the length of my comment.

Whenever I make omurice I put some little cheese block in between the rice when put it in the bowl. With the heat of the rice cheese melts and it tastes so good. I am also a cheese lover like Clair.
