This is neither a Korean egg dish nor a Korean style. This is called "DRESS DE OMELETTE" and is one of the types of Japanese omelets. It is a Japanese egg dish made with Japanese recipes. It's a shame that many people mistakenly think it's a Korean egg dish. "DRESS DE OMELETTE" means the drape of women's dresses, and it seems to express "wearing a dress". It originated in a restaurant called "BENITEI" in Saitama City, Japan. The only thing the Korean restaurant did was change the name to "TORNADO OMELETTE".
You better tell the people of Benitei about this because last I checked there are ZERO videos on UA-cam out of Japan on how to make a "dress de omelette". Your story sounds interesting, but it lacks any verifiable facts.
@@Fan_Made_Videos
Thanks for the reply. I use automatic translation because I don't understand English at all. So there may be some strange parts, please forgive me.
Am I correct in understanding that "dress de omelette" is not searched?
I think the problem depends on how you search, but you can try putting "ドレスドオムライス" or "ドレス・ド・オムライス" in Japanese.
I'd like to post the URL, but then UA-cam would erase the comments. It's difficult.
By the way, it's not a video posted by BENITEI, but in UA-cam, the video posted in 2013 is the oldest video of "dress de" I could check. (The cooking is by BENITEI)
Try searching for "美しすぎるオムライス、さいたま市の紅亭" in Japanese.
Also, there are many "dress de" recipe sites other than UA-cam. I think all of them need to be searched in Japanese. It seems that Japanese people don't think much about sending out information outside of Japan.

The guy put so much effort in making his ''tornado'' omelet and at the end I thought he was going to hide it under a ton of sauce.
Thankfully he didn't.
IMO it would have been greater if he "sandwiched" two of these omelets (the bottom doesnt have to be tornado) and trapped some of that red sauce in the middle. So when you slice open the egg some of the sauce oozes out beautifully.
Eggs are my favorite food and I get quiet mad when someone puts ketchup or sauce on it

Looks like Tomato Soup and they swirled cream into it but I dunno... might be soy sauce, ketchup and mayo drizzled in as that is popular with this dish.@@deegreeeen8612

It’s necessary
I just tried this with a cast iron. It started out beautifully, then the edges started sticking and stopped pulling inwards. Had to use a spatula. Still looked decent enough... Id you try this, use a good non-stick and work QUICKLY. Still delicious either way!
Do a quick re-season on your cast iron. Butter or bacon grease, light coat, upside down in oven, 450° for 45min and let it cool off on its own. Maybe two cycles of that if you don't already have a decent season on the pan. THEN try this again, with a light coat of olive oil and a pat of butter in the pan (the butter floats on the evoo and makes it super slick). Yes work fast. It should slide just fine. Whenever my cast iron won't let a fried egg slip around, I do 1-2 cycles of oven treatment and it's back in good shape.
Did you do it on high, medium or low heat?
What's in the sauce? And how is the rice prepared? So many questions when you're hungry...
Yes on the sauce. I was hoping someone knew. It's tomato based and likely not crazy spicy, but who knows. In Japan they're crazy for mayo, but this looked more liquid like ranch dressing and I don't know what they like in Korea. Hmmmm....
Oh, it might be omurice sauce. Very similar egg recipe.

@@tyg3rs716 eggs are pasteurised, its definitely safe to eat. moreover, salmonella fears have been around for quite a while, but have you not realised how low the chances of getting salmonella? moreover, its highly likely to get salmonella if the shit is raw-raw. that egg is cooked on high heat with nimble hands. to further educate you, if you're so afraid of salmonella, i advise you to buy japanese produced eggs. i don't care how you cook it, but let me tell you, those well-taken care of eggs are indeed more expensive, AND can be eaten raw. you heard me. raw. drink it up and have absolutely no side effects. come on, its 2020. time to open up to new technologies and things.

The name "Tornado Omelette" makes me sad. Please remember. It's not really a "Tornado Omelette".
This is a Japanese "Dress de Omelette"(or Dressed Omelette). This dish was conceived and created by a Japanese restaurant. However, it was changed to a completely unrelated dish name "Tornado Omelette" by Koreans. No one likes to have the name of their national dish changed by a foreigner to something that has a completely different meaning and then spread around the world. There is no respect for the creator who thought of and named this creative dish.
This dish is "Dress de Omelette" (or Dressed Omelette). The name comes from the fact that it looks like a dress.
Incidentally, in modern times, changing a name and acting as if you created it is called plagiarism.

Coronavirus : watch this dude making a festive omlet.
I just want to know how to make that sauce, then I'm golden.
yeah, right???? at the very least, I bet I could make the sauce...
The restaurant is called Delhi. So I'm assuming the sauce is Indian. It's most probably a makhani sauce. The chef finishing the dish with a drizzle of cream kinda confirms it.
Makhani sauce is a rice tomato based sauce. Here's the recipe for 3 servings:
Tomatoes 1 kg/ 2 pounds
Butter - 3 tablespoons
Ginger - one inch, finely sliced
Garlic - 3 cloves, finely sliced
Green chillies - 1, deseeded
Green cardamom - 2 pods
Fresh cream - about 150ml
Kasuri methi - this is a speciality Indian ingredient. It's optional to be honest
Cashews - again, optional, but much better with the cashews. About 10.
Sugar - 1 tablespoon
Salt - to taste
Heat the butter, cook the chilly, ginger garlic, cashews and green cardamom until fragrant. Add the tomatoes and sugar and salt and cook COVERED until the tomatoes are soft and no longer too acidic.
Cool the mixture and blend into a fine sauce. Strain into a pan and add some more finely sliced ginger. Heat the sauce up again and add the cream. Mix until the sauce looks the same as the one in the video.
Enjoy with hot rice. You can add grilled chicken to it for a more authentic sauce.
SOURCE: I'm Indian, born and raised.
Please make it. It's amazing.
