@@obsessedanglingtv5723 will do! If you ever get out jigging for some let me know. Never done that. Only trolled/river fished for them. Would love to learn that
@@castingoutfear8197 yessir bro! It is definitely a whole new style of fishing!
Always wanted to do this!
It is so fun man! I definitely recommend giving it a try!
Do you think I would have any luck doing this at the end of July/beginning of August, outside of the Cheboygan River on Lake Huron?
I know the peak of the salmon running is not until the beginning of September, but was hoping to catch some fish like this without having to use downriggers, spoons, and going 15 miles out into the lake. Also, were you finding schools of minnows or the actual salmon on the fish finder, then jigging off the sand bottom? Thanks
You be able should get them around the last 2 week of August and threw September! It is a blast
The difference in set up to the pacific northwest is pretty crazy. We're normally running 50 lb braid and 40 lb mono / floro bumpers.
Nice fish!
Dangggg thats crazy! I mean some people run that but not many here
Yea but yer salmon get Waaaaaay bigger, our record isnt even #50lbs
Awesome fights. Not sure what a "chromer" is but, must be slang for King Salmon. Either way, awesome video.
Thanks man! And a chromer mean like the fish is silver. When salmon enter the rivers they being to change color to like a tan and black color when they spawn.. so that’s why we call the silver fish a chromer because they are chrome if that makes sense lol
You make it look easy. Where’s the crowd I keep hearing about? 🙂
Thank you man means a lot! Like the crowd of people? We honestly stayed away from the crowd and found our own pod of fish!
Love jigging for Kings. Can jigging be done from shore or a boat is absolutely necessary?
ive seen people jig on the piers for them... but from a boat is a much better chance of hooking up to a salmon!
Cast spoons and spinners from shore
A lot easier than reeling in 300' of wire. Fun.
Oh I bet! Still is fun tho!
Dragging a fish 300 feet while going 3mph is boring, THIS is true fishing, excitment
Are you jigging right off the bottom if you don't see any fish on graph?
I would recommend jigging a foot off the bottom! Make sure you don't jig on the bottom because it kicks of sand and can spook them
Why do you catch and release?
Some people just wanna watch the world burn
Lol I guess so!
What size rod and reel you using for this?
At 11:31 in the video I go over my whole set up and rig!
@@obsessedanglingtv5723 I don't believe you mentioned the rod length. Do you mind giving that out?
Rod length?
@@adventurefishing3190 yes
Hi! What's the length on that rod?
it is a 9 foot 10-20 pound line rated Lamiglas rod!
@@obsessedanglingtv5723 thank you so much!!
@@obsessedanglingtv5723 just picked one up today, hope to get it soon in the mail!
Where you fishing at.?
Looks like Ludington, MI. I think I see the SS Badger in the background.
@swally122 🤫🤫
where is this?
Sorry it I don’t give off exact locations.. But I’m in Michigan!
When your jigging are you right on bottom. I see the fish on my graph about 5 or more feet off bottom.
I am about a foot off the bottom when I am jigging
