My brother was in an induced coma at the end of his battle with colon cancer. After 3 days vigil at his bedside I began to play a few songs from my phone on his pillow. This was the 4th song played and during the very last chord he took a deep breath and went home to be with the Lord. I know the timing was a direct witness from God to show me and those who hear this story that God is real. Keep the faith in peace and understanding.
My son passed away 7/23/23. He was 39 and had so much life ahead of him. This song describes his life journey so well. I find this song so healing. I’m so thankful for my faith and although there is a hole in my heart that will never heal I find strength in knowing I will see him again in heaven…whole and unscarred. My brother died of suicide in 1991. We had both witnessed our dad's suicide in 1957 when my brother was 3 and I was 7. This was devastating to me. When they committed these acts they both were 38 years old. Then I heard this song by Vince Gill. My dad and brother were both buried in our family cemetery on top of a hill in West Virginia. This song made me cry. I know the pain has to leave so the joy of the Lord comes in. My brother believed in God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost. I hope he went to heaven.

My grandma, or Memaw as I called her, passed away yesterday, 6/18/24. The night before, we had a mix of Jesus music playing on her tv so her room would be filled with the presence of the Lord as she prepared to go home. I left the room for a few minutes, and when I came back, this song started. I instantly fell to my knees by her bed and just sobbed as I held her hand. This will always be my song for her. Have 3 friends that we're all singers. Done the barber shop quartet thing many times. We have a standing prpmise. So long as 2 or more of us are left, they will sing this at the service. Same with fallen family members. Last one was 2 days ago, for our tenor's son. It's a wonderful tribute to a fallen country singer, and it nakes for a beautiful send off to a loved one.

A week or so before my husband's passing, he wrote on a tiny sheet of paper "Go rest high on that mountain, by Vince Gill". He handed it to me asking that I post it on the fridge in case I needed it. My sister and her husband sang it at his funeral. I will cherish that tiny note forever. Thanks Vince...I could swear you wrote it for him.

Tears are flowing while I try to write this. My mother raised me as a single parent in the 50s and 60s. She worked in a cotton mill for 8 hours a day and still found time to be a wonderful parent. She passed away several years ago after battling cancer and this song describes her life perfectly. She is resting now after a life of hard times. God bless her and those like her!!

And after fighting PTSD for years...to die from the effects of Agent Orange. He died with such Dignity, and Faith. I've always loved country music...whether it's Gospel, Country Rock....anything country (yes....even Willy Nelson)! In my family....we were 4 siblings....all 1 year apart! My brother Frank and I were the closest as were 11 months apart!!! He was my hero!!! We were a bonded pair!! He was a country music lover who always sang and played guitar around the campfire, in the house....anywhere he found solitude!! He was self taught...never had one lesson and no one, not even my father, played guitar! He just watched others play and picked it up! Frank passed away 3 years ago from a rare brain cancer! He was given 3 months to live but fought really hard and passed 5 months after being diagnosed!! While watching Country Throwback videos on TV....this exact video came on!!! I put the volume as high as it would go and cried my eyes out! Not only was I still grieving....I recognized that it was a sign from Frank that he's still watching over me!!! Ibfelt sad and blessed at the same time! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with the world Vince Gill!!!!!

I my name is sonja. I to have and my family have recently been the victims of losing a loved one due to sustance abuse and gun viloence. This has been a humungas tragedy in our lives. My family has literally came to a hault. They are literally falling a part. We lost the glue that held us all together. He left behind three sisters. All of us handling his death in so many different ways. Then my parents r both falling apart at the seams. Trying to take over as parents all over again because my father promised my brother before he took his last breath that he would take care of his kids. Mom has cancer her amune system is low. She is quick to get namonia. Swollen eyes coughing allergies, Arthritus, everything imaginable medically wrong with her that could possibly wrong with her, she has it. My dad fighting his own demands. Everybody tryin to mask the with some sort of addiction or another. We are all struggling to put the pieces back together one day at a time. Anybody out there have any useful advice in order to help my family.

Hi grandpa, this is the 8th year that I pay a visit to your grave. Every year I come here I've grown since the year before and each time I have less memories of when you were alive. The whole feeling of seeing that snowy grave in the dark with a lit candle inside a lantern with some flowers around it and then see your name on it truly gives me a sence of emptiness inside. But I promise to stay strong and be there for others just as you did. I know you can't hear me but thank you for all you did, for who you were and for the legacy of love that you've lefted behind. I am quickly loosing BOTH my parents to Dementia, AFIB, Cancer, Parkinson's, etc. And I am just as tired as both of them. It's so damn hard being disabled since a kid and trying so hard to take care of them now. I just lost my grandma, my last grandparent. I have several other family with cancer. Lost so many school friends too. I'm tired of loosing friends, acquaintances and especially family. My husband died June 13 he fault a long hard battle with throat cancer and the after effects. I had to choose to stop all treatments and within 4 hours he passed to go home to be with the Lord. This was one of the songs played at the graveside.

If you are not a follower of Christ, I know you are carrying burdens that have you hurting crying or stressing. You cannot live life in your own. You are struggling from your burdens, you are struggling from the weights of you sins. You can not get them off of you own. But there is someone who can, someone who is willing to do it, someone who always makes ways. Someone who leaves the 99 sheep and goes and searches for his lost sheep, someone who breaks chains , someone who died for you, someone who defeated death for you, and someone who gives everlasting life. My brother was in an induced coma at the end of his battle with colon cancer. After 3 days vigil at his bedside I began to play a few songs from my phone on his pillow. This was the 4th song played and during the very last chord he took a deep breath and went home to be with the Lord. I know the timing was a direct witness from God to show me and those who hear this story that God is real. Keep the faith in peace and understanding.

My brother died of suicide in 1991. We had both witnessed our dad's suicide in 1957 when my brother was 3 and I was 7. This was devastating to me. When they committed these acts they both were 38 years old. Then I heard this song by Vince Gill. My dad and brother were both buried in our family cemetery on top of a hill in West Virginia. This song made me cry. I know the pain has to leave so the joy of the Lord comes in. My brother believed in God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost. I hope he went to heaven.

I feel like I’m dying inside an my chest hurts so bad it feels like my heart is being ripped out of my chest.😭😭Once she’s gone my 3 cousins an their children , there will only be me an my 3 cousins and only two boys to carry on our last name a very unique family name of ANSITE! So it’s a blessing to our little family to keep our family name to carry it on and I’m so sad that our family name may get lost for ever.😢😢😢 I’m the oldest out of us all and so. I will be put in place as the new monarch of our small family. We need prayers for our little family so if you believe in Jesus will you please pray for us? Tears are flowing while I try to write this. My mother raised me as a single parent in the 50s and 60s. She worked in a cotton mill for 8 hours a day and still found time to be a wonderful parent. She passed away several years ago after battling cancer and this song describes her life perfectly. She is resting now after a life of hard times. God bless her and those like her!!

My father is a Vietnam veteran. I’m a veteran myself. I’ve watched him struggle my entire life with ptsd and the effects of agent orange along with combat related injuries. His drinking has slowed but more or less due to age. There is a special place in my heart for the veterans of that war. Your husband walks with the lord, and I’m sure he anticipates your reunion!

I've always loved country music...whether it's Gospel, Country Rock....anything country (yes....even Willy Nelson)! In my family....we were 4 siblings....all 1 year apart! My brother Frank and I were the closest as were 11 months apart!!! He was my hero!!! We were a bonded pair!! He was a country music lover who always sang and played guitar around the campfire, in the house....anywhere he found solitude!! He was self taught...never had one lesson and no one, not even my father, played guitar! He just watched others play and picked it up!
Frank passed away 3 years ago from a rare brain cancer! He was given 3 months to live but fought really hard and passed 5 months after being diagnosed!! While watching Country Throwback videos on TV....this exact video came on!!! I put the volume as high as it would go and cried my eyes out! Not only was I still grieving....I recognized that it was a sign from Frank that he's still watching over me!!! Ibfelt sad and blessed at the same time! I my name is sonja. I to have and my family have recently been the victims of losing a loved one due to sustance abuse and gun viloence. This has been a humungas tragedy in our lives. My family has literally came to a hault. They are literally falling a part. We lost the glue that held us all together. He left behind three sisters. All of us handling his death in so many different ways. Then my parents r both falling apart at the seams. Trying to take over as parents all over again because my father promised my brother before he took his last breath that he would take care of his kids. Mom has cancer her amune system is low. She is quick to get namonia. Swollen eyes coughing allergies, Arthritus, everything imaginable medically wrong with her that could possibly wrong with her, she has it. My dad fighting his own demands. Everybody tryin to mask the with some sort of addiction or another. We are all struggling to put the pieces back together one day at a time. Anybody out there have any useful advice in order to help my family.

The whole feeling of seeing that snowy grave in the dark with a lit candle inside a lantern with some flowers around it and then see your name on it truly gives me a sence of emptiness inside. My husband died June 13 he fault a long hard battle with throat cancer and the after effects. I had to choose to stop all treatments and within 4 hours he passed to go home to be with the Lord. This was one of the songs played at the graveside.

i’m a 13 year old boy, and my family and i just got the news that my grandpa has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. he’s been battling for a whole year now, at first it was stage 2. but when the doctors went in to remove it, it had spread to stage 4. they gave him 6-9 months using chemo. i don’t know what i could do without him, he’s my best friend. i love you so much pa!!

I am so very sorry and I pray your grandpa beats this. I lost my beautiful sister a week ago Sunday to stage 4 she was my best friend and I miss her so much. She was a talented artist and I am sure she is giving art lessons to the angels
