Forging the Valhalla Doors | Locking Bars | Part I
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 вер 2024
- Blacksmith artist Max Randolph designs and forges the locking bars for the Valhalla Doors. The locking bars will eventually connect to the gear mechanism that will open and lock/unlock these massive doors. In this video, Max constructs and designs the guides that will lead the bars across the entrance. These giant doors serve as an entry for Daniels Woodland headquarters in Paso Robles, California. This videos is the second video of many videos to come showcasing the creation of the Valhalla Doors.
Daniels Woodland designs, fabricates, and installs innovative experiences for clients all over the world. Their products include themed cabins and tree houses, shooting galleries, interactive props, themed sets & environments, animatronic characters, playgrounds, and chainsaw carvings.

Idk how many people you have on your production team, but I always feel like I’m watching a special funded by HBO or something when I watch your videos. Insane quality, you handle the flow of the video brilliantly and I always learn something. I know it takes backbreaking effort to make content like this but keep it up man, always look forward to the next installment of your builds. Wish there was a magic button to get 10M views cause without a doubt they’d all be instant subscribers
Aw wow!! I have to send the credit to my editors and composer! They're terrific! I really appreciate your kind words Mikey!
This man’s ancestors must have been dwarves because his forging ability is from another world. Keep up the amazing work.
I could only dream! Dwarves architecture is out of this world!
Sir, as a fellow blacksmith, carpenter, and history nerd for 15 years… you’re one of the most criminally undersubscribed channels on the internet. Phenomenal work my friend! So excited to dive into your work.
That means a lot to me Timothy! Thank you!!
Honestly Max, I'm amazed at how your brain works and how meticulous you are in the areas it counts most. Such an inspiration
Dang! Thank you so much!
My good sir, I have never seen your content before; I didn’t know you existed until a few minutes ago when a friend shared a clip of your work to me via discord, but I can safely say that I have been utterly astounded by the artistry and craftsmanship you display and I am fascinated by what you do. You have earned an instant subscription.
Aw wow! I'm so glad you found me! Welcome aboard!
Every time I watch one of your videos Max, I have a moment of "man I love his hair...how does he never singe or burn it!?"
Keep doing what you're doing, I love it!
Hah! It does get singed and burned sometimes, but just the ends.
You're not just making something from metal, but real art
Thank you, thank means a lot to me!
How do these cinematic masterpieces not have WAY more views?
Oh wow thank you! The channel is still rather new, it just needs some more time to grow. Give the channel a share if you get a chance ☺️
Watching you turn normal steel into something so beautiful is inspiring! Thank you for sharing this with all of us.
Aw thank you so much! So glad you're enjoying it!
YOURE DRAWINGS ARE A PIECE OF ART IN THEMSELVES. SO COOL.
Thank you so much!! You can download them from my website too!
I am in awe with everything you make even the drawings i could stare at forever
You're far too kind!
Forgive me for being late to the party, but I just found this video today and I have to say I absolutely LOVE the music choice for this one 😍
So glad you like it!!
The time and dedication that went into making this creation is greatly admired. Your love and passion for your craft shows in the amazing work. Much respect and thank you, Max, for all that you do!
Oh my goodness, I can't tell you what that means to me

I’m so glad it speaks to you!
Its so nice to sit back and watch your craftsmanship. I just cant get enough. Well done!

Wow Max just Wow is all I can say your vibe and skills are just amazing. I can not wait for part 2.
Thank you so much Chris!
Oh the hours and hours, I said it before stunning. 👏👏👏
I really appreciate that, not everyone knows just how much time all of this takes haha
Can I just come be your camera guy, or if you have one already just sit outside and watch? Lol I would never get bored. Your skill is astonishing.
Haha a cameraman?? That would be such a luxury!! Haha. I always just stick my camera somewhere 😆
@@Max_Randolph_Studios Id do it for free, Where ever ya live, I’d relocate from WY. Lol
I commented recently and you responded...I'm most appreciative of this...I saw a steampunk security box years ago....and began thinking about a very creative gate to delineate my carport breeze way from the backyard...I felt it needed a large key to twist and the features of the gate should change to indicate locked or unlocked
Your bell tones are genius!!
Then I saw the Vallhalla door locks ( completely fascinating)...
Most inspiring....it cemented the idea
I'll finish my propane forge and begin working on the gate.
Warmest regards
What a fun idea! I’m so glad you enjoying the content!
Que dire à part un travail incroyable ? C'est somptueux ! Un homme à suivre ASSURÉMENT !
Thank you so much!
My phone doesn't not deserve a youtube video of this quality. I'm playing this on my TV.
Hah! You're too kind!
Audio 10/10, also send some of your creative imagination need to build some hinges for my own doors, maybe not as crazy as these doors but I want them to be the best I’m capable of 🤣
I finally invested in a mic! Haha
Absolutely beautiful art and amazing videos. You are a master of your craft. Thank you for your work.
Wow, that is too kind, thank you Devin!
Max always very nice to see a new video my friend. Your designs are always elagent and very smooth and clean lines. Can't wait to see more videos soon max. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work Max. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God bless.
Aw man! Thank you so much Jared!
@@Max_Randolph_Studios your very welcome. Always great learning from your videos. I am a beginner blacksmith in Michigan
I imagine that this guy is Hephaestus trying to blend in with people, and I would love to go to his workshop and see all the custom mechanical art that he has. I love people who do stuff like this, and I would put all their work in a museum
Oh wow! Thank you so much!! You are too kind
max, you are a beast! This is awesome. Can't wait til the whole thing comes together.
Thank you so much Tom!
Saw a 20 second clip on iFunny and I’m in love with your craftsmanship 10/10
Welcome! I'm glad you found me!
Just a joy to watch you create Max. I'm trying to absorb as much knowledge as I can get. I do have a couple of questions if you have time. 1) are you cold setting the rivets and then heating to finish?2) you heat one of the plate points with the cutting torch, was that time lapsed? Seemed very fast and 3) WHERE WAS COPPER DOG!?
I'm so glad you're enjoying it! Yes, I set the rivets cold, then came back and forged them into place! My editor sped up a few cutting moments for sure!
Super cool to see it coming together. 👍
I'm so glad you're enjoying the progress!
Top notch! Always love seeing your creations!
So glad you like my work!
What you do and so impressive it can be seen that you are passionate about what you do I love what you create.
I really appreciate that Kilian!
Wonderful work ! I'm stund that you don't have a plasma torch.
I just love watching you work it’s so cool! 🖤🖤🖤
I really appreciate that!
badass Max
I wish I could get some of your work its phenomenal keep it up!
I'm so glad you like it!
Wonderful work as always!
I appreciate that so much!
These human skills are now being replaced by Engineering Machine Learning Physics, Robotics Precision manufacturing, Laser 3-D Printing, but Your Skills Sir are exemplary genius!.
Thank you so much Roderick!
Watching make these is truly amazing. The grandeur of the Valhalla doors ,the beauty of the details . ✨️ I was brought to tears. Truly brilliant.
I appreciate that so much!

Oh hey thet Matt! I really appreciate that!
I so want a door like this when I get the money
I’m so glad you like it!
Truly amazing!!!
You're too kind! 😁
@@Max_Randolph_Studios how did you learn how to draft like that?
love to see you on UA-cam now . i worked with my dad in Maine as a cooper smith as you know is way mor forgiving and what you make with steal is beautiful cant wait to see more
That's awesome! What a cool trade!
Can't wait to see more of this, always just so cool to watch. Might have to contact you about a much smaller scale door project lol That project is a couple years away though
I'm so glad you're enjoying the progress!
Absolutely spellbound watching you work your vision onto paper then into steel, what a talent you were gifted with max👏👏👏 eagerly awaiting the next part 👌
You're far too generous with your compliments! Thank you so much!
@11:00 and we’ll call that a day! Hahahaha you’re a beast! Be careful my man.
Thank you so much!
I would just like to say, it is an absolute pleasure to watch your videos. They are so fantastically well done and put together. I do enjoy them and thank you for having them put out. Please pass my compliments to those who work behind the scenes that are there. I can also not put into words how inspiring your works are. They are fantastic and so imaginitive, and whimisical in the best of ways. You are an inspiration to those of us who cannot do such amazing work, for one reason or another. I would love to one day be able to make things on such a scale, especially such sculptural works as you've done. But for now I will continue to make in my small spaces, and continue to watch for your works.
Thank you so much! I will absolutely share your kind words with my production team 😊 I hope you keep making your creations no matter where you are, we need more creators like you!
It's a travesty your not in the millions with your sub count. Your work is next level
That is too kind of you! Thank you Seth!!
Your work is truly awe inspiring! I wish I could come work with you, and maybe add just the smallest portions of myself to your genius. I am a welder/fabricator and dabble in blacksmithing/forging as well, but am not allowed the time to really add the artistry that you do. Someone mentioned time and I have wondered many times how long you really have in some of these projects...?
Your personal touch would be so appreciated!
Hi. I know this is a bit left field but, I am a welder and I am starting my own art business. I have been following you for a while on UA-cam and TikTok. You are an inspiration to me and a couple of my friends from college. We watched a bunch of your videos together. I had a question and I hope you have the time to answer it. When you were starting to get into metal art what was something you know now that you wish you had known then?
Wow, that’s a great question! I wish I would have know my worth sooner, being humble is good, but there were so many times I cut myself short because I didn’t feel good enough. Thank you so much for the support!
These doors are absolutely stunning! It’s been so fun following your updates. Whatever happened to the lot next door? Your time limit is up right? I have been hoping it worked out for you.
We raised enough for me to make up the difference! The paperwork is getting filed as we speak!
Wonderful! I’m so happy for you and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
Watching you cut metal with the torch reminds me of an argument my ex husband and I used to have frequently. He insisted there was no such thing as a cutting torch and you could only use them for welding. My dad was a mechanic and welder by trade. I was right, he was wrong. His brother-in-law (also a welder by trade) would argue with him about it, too. Smh
Hah! They most defintely cut!
@@Max_Randolph_Studios they sure do!
Gloves
I know you cant say but dang, those doors must have cost the clients a fortune.
Thousands of hours really add up yeah 😅
@@Max_Randolph_Studios I bet, and I didnt mean that in a bad way 😃 That thing looks beautiful. Something I would want if I ever got rich. Maybe slightly smaller, but still.
Do you use oxy acetylene for all your cuts and if so why not hand plasma
I do! Because I can heat, cut, and weld with the exact same process!
