    Aki, my grandmother was a fantastic cook but died before teaching me her recipes. I tried your easy bougatsa and now supply a local London shop with your 'easy' bougatsa recipe! Everyone loves it! BRAVO SOU!

      +Akis Kitchen A small question, how your butter is so ''sticky'' and not runny after is melted? Do you use a particular butter or you melted at a particular temperature?thanks!

    I cooked Bogatsa for my friends, and they really liked it. One of them said this is better than Baklava :D
    I just wanna tell some tips for the people who live in the US or other countries other than Greece and Turkey (you can find fresh phyllo in these countries). You probably need to buy phyllo from the frozen section of some markets (I bought it from Whole Foods in the US.) Buy 2 packages because you may need more phyllo. Another thing is to buy phyllo at least 2 days earlier and keep them in the fridge, not the freezer, so that it will be easier to take each sheet separately. Otherwise, you may mess up.

    I'm so happy I finally found a recipe for this deliciousness, every time I'm in Greece I go to a bakery and eat this and finally I can make it at home. I love the Greek cuisine and your recipes are awesome !

    I've been searching this for years intil I found this 😍😍, I've lived in Greece for 5 years and here in the Netherlands they don't have 'bogasia' I'm so excited can't wait to make it and taste it after years again !!

    I made this, OMG, it's so yummy, I can almost finish the entire pie in 2 days alone, lol but I did have some self discipline :) I can't wait to make another pie
    P/s: I used butter spray (can) instead of dripping all the butter to save some calories, I also cut the amount of white sugar, it turn out just like Akis. This will be my go to phyllo recipe from now on

    I just made this and oh really sooo yammy . I added a littel orange zest with the casterd . Kids just loved it end ate it warm was bitter

    It became a tradition to make bougatsa for Easter and Christmas in my house I live in Romania and we don't have such thing here, it seems I invented a new tradition thanks to your easy recipe 😁

    I just made this . And omg 😳…. Perfection . Tasted exactly how I had it in Greece last month!! Pretty simple. Though quick questions..
    1. What other pans can I use? I couldn’t find the exact pan size so I used the one closest
    2. How do u keep the phyllo sheets from drying/ripping or sticking together from when you open the pkg ? Oh

    This we call in Greece bougatsa, but original bougatsa is not with phyllo dough but with bougatsa dough! ( hard to make and cannot find ready) so the very Greek phyllo dough is the second best choice and a very good one ☝️!!

    So I've wanted to go to Greece my whole life, I fell in love with Greek culture while reserching the origins of my name, Chloe (she's Demeter in summer, when she has Persephone home from Hades). When I was younger I wanted to go to Mykonos, probably because it's known for the night life. Now though I'm thinking I want peace, along with beauty and history. Where would be the best place to go? Crete? Naxos? Has anyone been who can recommend the best places to visit when I finally get there this summer?

      You can visit Ionian islands. Lefkada, Zante, Corfu etc

      I have been to Santorini 3 times, it's peaceful & stunning. I also like Crete, Knossos Palace is the largest Bronze Age archaeological site, and Rhodes medieval castle , both are rich in history & good food. During summer, there are many ferries connecting Santorini & Crete. I avoided Mykonos precisely for the night life.

    I have no idea how difficult will be to get Phyllo around here. This is the first time I hear about it but I just learned you use it to make pastries such bride's fingers and I can find those.
    Anyway, I guess I'll find out because I want to try this. It looks sooo good and so far your recipes haven't let me down.
    I swear I got hungry while I was watching this hahaha
