    Ricky Gervais tirade on the Globes was along the lines off. “If you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public, about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So, if you win, Come up, accept your little award. Thank your agent and your God, and F*** off. Okay?”

    This whole "woke" phenomenon has its roots way back. It began with a single word: "offended." Back when I was a kid, in our church group, if someone said they were offended, it would become a big deal for weeks. Nowadays, thanks to the internet, we're all so connected that the online community can feel like a big group, similar to a church or cult. So, when someone gets upset or complains a lot, it becomes everyone's concern. Some people try to calm things down by soothing the upset person, and sometimes the whole group gives in to their demands.

    I just watched this video by “mistake.” It was posted 8 months ago, but it is really true. My family and I have been watching a lot of Spanish, Italian, Polish, Swedish, Russian, South Korean, Hindi, and Argentinian productions. We are tired of the American woke content in most movies and series. Sometimes we spent about half an hour or more, looking for something to watch in Netflix and Prime. It has gotten to the point that we end up watching nothing and going to bed. Our TV got burnt somehow a year an a half ago. We haven’t miss it nor replace it yet. They bait fans into it by preemptively calling us all the pejoratives they’ve made up. istaphobe this and istaphobe that. It worked for a while but petered out when Amazon bought certain The Lord of The Rings rights.
      Diznee destroyed Marvel & Star Wars and Amazon destroyed The Wheel of Time but we weren’t about to let them Destroy Tolkien. Going after Tolkien and his fans was a *MASSIVE* mistake. A mistake they hopefully can’t recover from. Time will tell wether Amazon can learn from their mistakes but it’s too late for Diznee as they continue down the path to their own demise.

    I 100% agree with Amala's point about stories becoming completely predictable. I noticed this over a decade ago. There was this episode of Veronica Mars, "One Angry Veronica," that was based on the movie "12 Angry Men," so a story about a jury. This jury was trying a sexual assault case. "12 Angry Men" is one of the greatest stories ever, but this story was boring as hell. And the reason it was boring as hell was because from the very first shot of the jury you knew exactly who the good guys and bad guys were and what order they would change to support Veronica. The older black woman? Instantly on Veronica's side. The upper class straight white male? The bad guy motivated by prejudice. If you understand the Progressive Stack, you can 100% predict who is will be good and bad. It's so dull.

I'm an 80's kid and my mom once told my dad me and my brother were not allowed to watch scary movies until he explained how movies were fake. Well, he explained. He broke movies down to the point that every movie is ruined. I look for patterns, tropes, bad cuts, etc. So, since the 80's when we were taught what to look for, it's been a game to accurately break down a movie before they start.

    • @wolfofthewest8019
      @wolfofthewest8019 Рік тому +12

      @@AregPone That's a fair point, but I think there's still a difference between hackneyed and cliche ridden writing and writing driven by a progressive agenda. For example, and spoilers for Knives Out warning, in Knives Out I was able to figure out that Ransom (Chris Evans) was the murderer before the first act ended because it was a terribly written movie and contained no twists or surprises. But in reality, I walked into the movie knowing who the murderer was because Chris Evans is the straight white male masculine ideal, and thus by the progressive stack the most privileged member of the cast, and thus the bad guy. And like...if I can solve a murder mystery by glancing at the cast and applying the progressive stack? That's a whole new level of shitty writing.

    What really annoys me is the bait and switch. Especially prevalent in netflix. They come out with something decently good it gets great ratings then season 2 it jumps the shark with woke. All the fans get disgusted and the ratings plummet. Then they cancel show because no one watches it. You never complete a storyline. And they dont seem notice that the popularity drops after they screw it up.

My ancestors came from Italy with no money and no power, I today am still dirt poor and resent being called rich and powerful. My family had nothing to do with slavery or racism but still get insulted all the time. Even my sons in school were beaten every day and treated with hatred and racism. From what I remember it was just some sort of revenge fantasy fuel for the writers or something, the "heroes" react to the trauma of a school shooting by attacking a peaceful pro-gun protest, threatening and hurting the unarmed protesters, and destroying the cameras so they couldn't share the footage. That's only one part, but I can't imagine even pro gun control crowds liking that idea/rep unless they're very angry people themselves.

    The single best anti-piracy ad I ever saw was on the DVD for the movie "Paul." You had the little mermaid and the lion king,Aladdin, emporers new groove, and the whole of Pixar movies. plus movies like Pirates the development of that franchise started with him. after Isner creativity just died out with Disney consuming IPs like the borg.
