I don't care what anyone says, as a black man I, and everybody I know who watched Tropic Thunder, found Robert Downey Jr's character to be the best part of that entire movie. Not a single person I know was offended by RDJ playing a black man, hell I was even impressed how well he pulled that look off tbh. That movie is pure gold and is considered a damn comedy classic as far as movies are concerned. Fuck anyone who tried to say that movie is racist, RDJ's scene in the trailer was the reason my entire family even went to the movies to see Tropic Thunder.
They love doing that. It's just like female sports. They get mad at people not showing up when the audience should be filled with women. It's not men's fault nobody is watching it.
A lot of examples to this statement not only in the Hollywood world but now it’s crossed into gaming hence the Frosk chick that basically crushed G4s comeback saying if you don’t like it don’t watch it and 4-6 months later G4 closed there studio again when you attack fans you piss them off and there like okay, and then wonder why you don’t have a job anymore or why your show or movie flops
Isn't that what happened with Black Panther? That was mostly unhinged people. Movie was good though, obviously. But the loud minority of people love complicating things.
@@piotrmajewski5978 They will never run out of money. Disney is a monopoly on entertainment with government backing and funding. They basically have a blank check and there is nothing that we can do to stop them.
@@connorwillie8102 this may be my only post with 100s of likes. I'm usually shadow banned and get no likes or views. Yeah, much props to that actress for doing that.
Ya kind of crazy right. They also lost really hard. In history there are many bad people doing really dark things but what is worse then someone evil is someone evil that is also a loser. Then you cant make excuses or play devils advocate because the means did not justify the ends at a minimum. They are just unapologetically evil and corrupt.
One major problem with strong women in modern movies recently is that they are badly written, Rey and Captain Marvel are perfect examples of strong female characters who are badly written in movies. A good example of a badass female character that's well written is Rita played by Emily Blunt from Edge of Tomorrow and The Bride played by Uma Thurman from the Kill Bill films.
Emily Blunt has been quoted as saying if she gets a script and sees the character they want her to play is described as 'a strong female character' she turns it down flat. She is amazing!!
Write a strong character who happens to be female instead of writing a strong female character. ex. Black Widow, Ellen Ripley, Sarah Conner (pre T3). I stole this quote from somewhere else
I, for the life of me, can't understand how we're letting a small number of people on social media dictate what's acceptable and what's offensive, who to cancel, and who to promote. It's really getting annoying asf at this point.
The 0.666% of those wacks is tiny, yet they get the loudest voice. How does that work? What planet am I on, Venus, a world with a very toxic atmosphere?
I saw a video about how small Twitter actually is in comparison to other social media platforms. It's even smaller than Reddit and that isn't taking into account how many of those accounts are alt accounts and bots. If I remember correctly less than 25% of Twitter makes up the vast majority of all tweets on the platform.
He makes a living of offensive humour. Being cancelled for him is like putting a "parental advisory" sticker on your album cover. You make more money off that album. There are also people who want nothing to do with the public spot light being forced into it and publicly shamed. (Donglegate).
@Peniley Majorey I mean, it's because they're gay, and they see it as a good way of showing it. The Last Of Us HBO is a good show regardless, and it was praised before Ep. 3. It seems this is just some people that are literally elevating it to god-status, but not the majority. It's just a good show so far to many people.
In this country, absolutely. Not so sure about places like China or Russia, but in the United States, the majority of whose population is BORN AND BRED to despise being talked down to, and treated like servants, that rule absolutely bears weight!

@@SimuLord No. Sorry, but there's no putting up with this crap. Not for any reason. Americans are aware of this. The Vast majority of them are completely intolerant of any attempt to squash their own opinions or freedoms. Especially when those efforts are originating from the government, or from the wealthy. If those other options you mention did not exist, then America would create those options themselves. They would create their own alternatives, rather than bow down to those trying to stifle them. Luckily, those other options exist, as you point out. So there is no need to do that.
I hope they get into these phone games too. Almost everytime I see an advertisement for the games on my phone, while playing another game, its always about the man cheating on her and she being left alone with a baby. Just all kinds of crap and that needs to go away too. People play games as a relief from that mess. Don't bring that trash into the phone games too. Ugh.
I will never understand why Hollywood would make a movie titled "The Woman King" and not make it about the Celtic warrior queen, Boudica, who led her people in resisting Roman invasion. It's one of history's greatest stories, and it seems to check almost every box they wanted. Their decision-making baffles me.
I'm really amazed that Ridley Scott has never even touched this story, I'd rather see that than any of his terrible newer Alien movies (prequels, ugh). He really does history justice, and Boudica would be fantastic.
@@jneilson7568 Agreed, prequels can die forever as far I'm concerned. They're almost always disappointing. I'd love to see a Ridley Scott Boudica film. Black Hawk Down, Kingdom of Heaven, and Gladiator are favorites of mine, despite my dislike of their historic inaccuracies. I think in general he just knows how to get the best of both worlds out of his historical films: a sense of authenticity from the history without sacrificing the entertainment audiences want.
The little mermaid is an HC Andersen story, specifically white as he wrote lots of not white characters considering his time. His story is in turn based on norse mythology. Yes, there are black mermaids in Jamaica, yes the cartoon theme implies carribean, but Ariel is danish
@@EndymionTv my understanding is the woke movie industry has money invested up front from woke bankers so movies don’t have to make a profit. movie makers are bribed up front if they are woke enough so profit from movie sales is no longer necessary, and the bankers just create money from thin air so they have an endless supply to bribe with

The Woman King tells you literally everything you need to know about wokism. Actual slavery, suffering and human abuse doesn't matter. Black skin does. Modern Intersectionality isn't love, sensitivity or justice. It's racism. It's sexism. It's the cynical reduction of human life to a commodity.
Back in my day they actually made cool iconic black characters instead of making a joke of all black people by simply blackwashing previously white characters and insulting all black people with that lazy approach.
@@makeitsonumberone1358 Django another great example. Or Samual L in Pulp fiction. They accuse Tarantino of racism can you believe that shit? Dude responsible for some insane careers with little money.
Metatron did 2 excellent videos covering this movie and the new Cleopatra series. Both, he stated, suffered from the worst kinds of historical revisionism to fit the woke narrative. He also provided a real-life example of an African Female King (Cush, Meroe) that Hollywood could have depicted.
My biggest surprise was puss in boots 2 at the end of last year. This movie made me realise how incredibly incompetent writing had become because that was the only movie in a long time that knew how to handle ensemble, character development and pacing. Within 90 minutes. It was simply an entertaining movie without any glaring flaws you had to handwave. You know how we do these days with a lot of media since it's still better than the alternative. It made me realise what is missing in todays media.
Stuff like that is the reason this whole woke era is bound to fall, because there is still alternative beyond nostalgia. There are still movies, games, and visual novels, that refuse to bend the knee. And these can keep people entertained. Allowing them to just ignore, and vote with their wallet against the rest of the stuff. Hollywood amassed a lot of money in the past which allow them to lose, but it is not infinite, and when the big guys on the top can't afford their next Thai sex slave, then they will start cleaning house.
@Big Shworm I meant that last part as a joke, but it might be actually right. Considering how illegal such stuff is i can only imagine how expensive would be the "meat", and the bribes to keep people shut about it.
I'm not even curious enough to PIRATE these movies. Who knows, they might come up with stats that say "well this woke film was the most pirated in 2023, so in a way it was successful too!"
Guess her being an actual African must’ve had something to do with it. Because all those black Americans who never set foot in Africa, have no idea what it’s actually like or its history.
@@alexman378 Yeah, this 100x THIS!!! Some of Hollywood's versions of stories from Africa... I... really have to wonder what Africans think about them. “When you blame your audience for not watching your movie while also openly hating on them the very people your livelihood depends on, you have no one to blame but yourself.” Congratulations INDYMION, you just made the best video on UA-cam. Bravo.
Some history deserves to be rewritten, namely the narratives about absolute villains being "misunderstood" (cough cough. *The Confederacy* cough cough) but anymore historical narratives are essentially saying the world would have been better off if the Black Death did its job to completion
300 doesn't change history, it enhances true events and shares the same message the real Spartans acomplished. Few marched against many, few stood against Tyrany and through mathyrdom helped unite Greece to drive out the invaders. The Mummy is comeplete fantasy, so is tge rest. The Woman King glorifies one of the Worse Kingdoms to ever exsist. And conviniently hides all the dark Aspects of said culture. Like Slavery, being a provider of black slaves to the white invaders, and practicing human sacrafice. 300 for example showed you how they leave babies to die if unworthy, let children beat and kill each other. And how one of said outcastd is treated despote his loyalty. So despite 300 being based on a comic thats based on history its even more accurate then the woman king who tries to base itself on history. And like it was mentioned, its like a movie about the Nazi rule but we leave out all the Holochaust and dont talk how you had to obey or your family and you vanished etc. Just good flurishing Germany at that time. Stalin with no Gulag next
I remember a video from the BBC a long time ago where an African American woman tried to explain to children how "WW1 was a racist war" since it didn't have enough of black soldiers in it, while FORGETTING about the Harlem Hellfighters, the Indians who fought alongside the brits, how one man from Britain helped Arabia get independence from the Ottoman Empire and more. It was pure insanity
Once wokeness is cured, everyone who went along with it will be very quiet and hope everyone will forget about it. Those who went against it, especially black actors and actresses who refused to have their names attached to garbage like Woman King (Lupita Nyong'o), they will be remembered as people who holds values, honor and dignity above money and short-lived fame.
I agree with everything that is being said about Hollywood and the agenda that they are pushing… BUT!!!! Can y’all please relax with the restructure of the word “woke”? The word woke means your third eye is open and you have knowledge of self. Goofies like the monkeys who work at Fox News took the word and tried to diminish it because anyone who does not fall for the banana in the tail pipe of has pride is a problem. Woke is not the problem, sucka shit is.
I think part of it is how America gives so much emphasis on race. Every news piece and every study and report has to involve race like black and brown, Asian, Hispanic, etc. compared to white. Movies and TV shows featuring Chinese families are celebrated as "Asian" representation instead of Chinese Americans. South Asians are grouped with East Asians as just Asians while Middle Easterners and North Africans are grouped with whites on the census. Race division in America has nothing to do with culture and heritage at all and that's what makes minorities overlook their heritages. Now everybody wants to dress in European costumes in American productions about historical European stories and fantasy because if white Americans can do that so can we. Lupita is from Africa so she is different. I've read comments by black people from Africa and they are perplexed by the race swapping trend in Hollywood. People across the globe are perplexed too. Like why would Asians be in like Bridgerton or House of the Dragons for example. Only minorities in America don't see anything wrong.
I think Quintin is right when he said- directors in the ’60s were overjoyed when musicals fell out of style. Tarantino said he “can’t wait for the day they can say that about superhero movies.”
Quentin doesn't represent everyone . He hates Goddard . He hate this movie or that movie . He hates Bill Murray and STRIPES . The Who's TOMMY is a great rock musical . And I'll gladly admit I love Seargent Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band movie because it's so tacky and bad . A couple of the remake songs are pretty good . I like other movie fans aren't that impressed with Quentins work either . Look at it from my point of view there's probably a movie or two that you like and he'll probably say it sucks .
Same. I am hungry for good stories, and I'm just ready to be happy about entertainment. We need all types of books/shows/films from clean to politically incorrect as long as the stories are great
Oh my, QT is SO right. I disliked those 60s musicals and I can't stand the endless superhero boom. Like Robbie Williams sang - this new century is bringing me down. I'm the only human in existence who doesn't like Fury Road - that mindless, soulless, calculated mutilation of Max Mad.
I too respect Lupita Nyongo who turned down the role in this deceptive film, because she found out the truth about the Dahomey tribe . She is indeed is an example of an ethical and noble human, she deservedly wins my respect.
Every writer on literature from Aristotle on has said, in one way or another, that art is about instructing BY delighting, by getting the audience to identify with complex characters and follow the arc of what their actions lead to, and the WORST thing to do is to privilege ideas and lecture the audience instead of persuading them through plot and character--because life is more complex than any ideology. My favorite is from Percy Shelley: "didactic [literature] is my abhorrence."
will be WILD. Especially the language. I can already see Chris Rock or some other comedian just taking a 15 min segment of just cursing and everything else just because. Or maybe all the comedians that are on a set, 1 after the other will go on stage talking like that as a release, just because they've had to hold in for so long.
if you haven't seen it check out the film: Queen of Katwe. Lupita is in the movie and it's based on a true story. don't want to tell you more about it and spoil it for you.
Truthfully, as a biracial person, I would’ve loved to have seen the true depiction of the Agoje warriors and Dahomey in film format. It could’ve been an interesting way of depicting and sharing history that most probably aren’t aware of. It could’ve been from the perspective of a slave taken from their village by the Dahomey and the terror they faced by being enslaved by people who they assumed were on their side. There could’ve been a very real, visceral, fearful and human perspective and take on this portion of African history that most people don’t know or don’t want to know. Much like how 12 Years a Slave showed the horrors of history. Stories are how we learn and grow to never make these mistakes again and take those who committed them accountable so that they can improve and grow. Instead we are being spoonfed agendas and history os being chickenscratched and overwritten to satiate the needs of people who want to believe that they are right.
I mean... its not really the "woke" people that are rewriting history... Look at florida's rewriting of Actual fucking history books and tell me that with a straight face.
I'm French and I've been to Benin and visited former Dahomey palaces and other buildings. The local guides were absolutely transparent on the fact that the wealth of said kingdom came from slave trading of enemy ethnies etc, and that they got blown away by France (which let's be honest isn't that surprising considering the massive technological advantage Europeans had), even though yes they were proud to be able to show powerful ancestry, they never said it was all good. To me, this movie really all seems like another very American thing about empowering, racial and gender issues etc, made by Americans, for Americans, but acting as if it was about African peoples
as an american we know, it's very disappointing that our own people wanna pretty much wash over slavery even though in americas past we had slavery, im from Texas which was on the confederate side of the civil war and we learn about it and it's never painted in a good light it's painted in as terrible as a light as you can make slavery be. i dont know how they accomplished some bullshit way to white wash over an african tribe that was obviously not good but they did it and im just disappointed in my own country
The new Lord of the Rings movies from Warner Bros will definitely be woke. I think even though the end of the woke era is near, there will still be franchises that'll fall victim to radical Hollyweird ideology.
Yes and there are so many movies still in production that have to come out because the money has already been spent. Businessmen didn't think about the trends hard enough
The pipeline is still full of woke productions and will be around for a while, but the studio's will eventually have to come to a decision on what's more important profit or wokeness
If the Woman King story was told from the perspective of a person who was defeated and enslaved by The Dahomey they'd probably made the most groundbreaking, epic, bone chilling and thought provoking film ever created, but instead they'd rather rewrite history and foster bad blood between people.
Some indies should make a movie like that. With an actress that looks as much as possible like Viola Davis taking payment, running and screaming, and coming to enslave everybody. Just to piss off woke Hollywood.
you know what? An actual story from a perspective of those same women-warriors. How poor girls get enslaved, tortured and then become torturers themselves and how they completely loose hope at their system witnessing human-sacrifice ritual. That would be epic. Most likely torture p0rn, but our bars are pretty low since GoT
Precisely!~ It's like let's pretend that African King's never had slaves of their own which sold to the Dutch. Effectively kicking off the Slave Era.. Again-
these people make everything about "whaaamen" and race... they are too stupid and brainwashed by the commy propaganda to see that it's not about them! It's not about women! It's not about blacks! It's just about a bad story with nauseatingly forced narratives shoved down your throat and inaccurate history! It's not even credible... THERE ARE NO PROSPERING MARTIARCHIES EVER! Not in history, and not now! All of this strong woman bs is just that. It's a male power fantasy applied to women! Women try to be men but they fail, and then they wonder why it doesn't get views, why it doesn't work, why they wake up sad and alone drowning in a bottle of wine and a handful of Xanax at 50, with 50 cats to eat their corpse 4 hours after they meet their sad pathetic inevitable lonely death... Women should stop trying to be warriors, and be mothers! They should stop running laws and countries and they should run a house! Women always had immense decisional power through their men. Man always listened to women. Man always simped for women... It's in our nature to try to offer them the best we can... But now they spit in your face and take all you years of efforts and hard earned money for granted! NO MORE!
The wokeness is coming to an end. But will anything be left afterwards? Every single one of the franchises that I grew up with and loved has been corrupted to some or other extent. Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Transformers, He-Man, DC, Marvel....
Maybe its time for those franchises to die? Many of the things I loved in my youth have been corrupted and turned into garbage- Hip Hop music (80% of it), Heavy Metal/Hard Rock (90%), Comic Books, NBA Basketball, and Sci-Fi film genre. However, two years ago I would have put Horror Movies in this list, but I honestly say, I think authentic, well written Horror is back. I won't hold my breath if the others never come back.
Tropic Thunder was the first Robert Downey Jr. movie I had ever seen, no idea who the guy was. I had absolutely no clue he was doing blackface until the end of the film. Even then, my 12 year old brain thought the bit was a black guy doing white face at the end 😂
Hollywood has spent years telling me that representation matters and that people need to see themselves on screen... and then they get upset when I don't go and see a movie that doesn't represent me or one that I can't see myself on screen in...
Yes, because seeing yourself on-screen isn’t as surface-level as they insist it is. I don’t need to be the same gender, ethnicity, sexuality, and age as my favorite characters to relate to them. I don’t even need to be the same species. I can relate to fictional cats and dragons and such moreso than any woke bullshit people keep trying to feed me, simply because these fictional cats and dragons are somehow more human than the people who are supposed to be “just like me”.
Lupita is a smart woman. I'm glad she decided to leave the woman king. I like Viola Davis as an actress but I'm really disappointed she failed to do her research or just completely ignore it.

it's been a entire generation of woke creators, producers, directors and actors and their enablers whom have added up to this quality downgrade. @kingofthecow some decent movies in the 2010's especially with cgi allowing for me epic sequences, but for re-watchabilty, likable characters, some with great plots and simple brutal action, the 80's going into early 90's can't be beat. Even the remakes of those older movies pale in comparison.
@kingofthecow No way 2010s suck compared to the 80s & 90s. They’ll be talking about the likes of Die Hard & Terminator 2 thirty years from now. How many 2010s action films will even be discussed then?

Tbh, Hollywood killed itself. During the pandemic when all the celebrities were singing to us, peasants, to stay at home and not work. They didn’t care that we needed to go to work to afford food and bills. Nope. They just wanted to shove their politics on us because they thought they were better than us. I don’t give a shit about the wokeness, the celebrities themselves pissed me off enough to make me never support a box office movie, show, or album again.
This is what pisses me off. they make videos and do interviews that call for changes in a world that they don't actually live in. Easy for them to call for defunding the police when they live in gated communities and can afford private security. No one in the actual inner cities wants the police gone. The people who think they are entitled to speak for these communities usually aren't part of them.
As a black man, the sudden Tropic Thunder outrage boils my blood who are these people, they really don't understand black face and why that was actually so offensive, it was a deliberate act to dehumanise, humiliate and garner an underlying hatred of an entire group of people centered around hate.....Tropic Thunder is about a character, an ingauging interesting, funny, and a personality driven character at that in line with the tone of the move, LOVE Ben Stiller for not apologising he's saved his career, in the UK we had a similar thing come out the blue with a programme called Bo Selecta a fantastic comedy with interesting loveable characters attacked by the mob and Keith Lemon the creator folded like a wet towel crying and whining like a baby all over the place, I can honestly say it was shameful, if I was a wt person and someone wanted to attribute their negative interpretations to something they know nothing about I'd 💯 stand my ground, listen hear if your intentions are not bad don't let someone convince you that it is.
If you ask me, changing a white film character's skin color for the sake of being diverse seems like kind of an insult to both races. They can't be bothered to create interesting black characters, so they just slap a bit of paint on a white character and then you got diversity with no effort. Pretty lazy.

The pandemics taught us that life is short and can be taken away at a moment's notice. We, as a society I believe, have reoriented ourselves to focus on some things that benefit us better. Millions quit their jobs because they recognized how soul sucking those jobs were for remote jobs instead. Hollywood award shows have plummeted in views because people no longer have the interest because the luxury is no longer the same. We have to focus on ourselves more. That's how I see it at least.
I disagree. The fact so few of us care to see beyond ourselves is the problem. It's always ego and fallacy no matter how or where you look at. So quick to judge yet so quick to temper when being judged. That main character energy is only split when you feel like the npc to someone else instead. There's no middle ground. You either use or get used.
The only thing the pandemic thought us is that a powerful elite can close an entire planet down over the sniffles and convince billions of people to take a mystery potion. A potion that now seems to have quite the consequences for the ones who took it
This is what happened when people adapt their personalities from twitter and treat twitter threads as their holy scriptures. And hollywood taking what's happening in twitter as serious business is a 🤡 move. I can't wait for twitter or similar media to get destroyed it's honestly just a cesspool of hatred. Every time i opened it to see my fav artists recent works there's always some kind of drama somewhere and it took some self control to close the app unscathed.
Honestly haven’t used IG Facebook or twitter for basically a decade. All I see is people say how toxic it is and it makes me glad to not be involved. Non stop woke narratives being pushed, and the never ending search for external validation holds no weight when in the real world.
I saw a study that said 56% of people under the age of 25 (in the U.S) use sites like facebook, instagram, tik-tok, etc. as their sole source of information.....
Sadly, there are enough people who are OK with the message or immune to it that Hollywood doesn’t have to worry yet about people like me who can’t stomach their woke messaging. I haven’t been to a movie at the theater since well before the pandemic. And on television, I find myself streaming 1970s and 80s TV shows and movies from back when they were just interested in making good entertainment rather than preaching and teaching and winning converts.
There’s so much history that people of every race have to be ashamed and proud of. It baffles me that anyone would rather have a doctored version of their peoples history rather than a faithful retelling as far as what we know.
I feel like there was already push back on woke hollywood and it was only a matter of time before things changed. The pandemic just accelerated the timeline because hollywood has to deal with the push back while also being broke. They have to pump out good movies or die.

Hearing that story why she quit the WOMAN KING finding out the real history of the culture. I wouldn't be surprised her reaction was similar to Barry White on THE SIMPSONS when he found out what "Wacking Day" was about.
The woman king could have been amazing if they had depicted the film factually. Showing their authenticity of this kingdom is awe inspiring. The negative elements, are important as well. Our current generation and younger ppl need to see what the world was like in the past.

I think the problem with Hollywood is it’s franchises. In a world where the general public just wants to go see a movie like Pulp Fiction or Gangs of New York they didn’t have watch all the films in their creators catalog. With things like the MCU you have to watch the films, the shows, the UA-cam videos and you still don’t know as much as someone who read the comics. It’s a lot of effort for the general public as much as it is loved.
The always-growing conected universe will reach the point when the new potential fans will be intimidated by the amount of stuff they have to watch to understand what´s going on. Then it will all fall down.
@@southlondon86 you misunderstood what I said. You will actually get more dum franchise and superhero movies. Ones which will no longer be made are the good ones.
You are so right in so many topics. Among your several excellent arguments, I was very struck by your point that films are just too bloody long. Some movies can justify it because they have intrinsic grandeur. I cannot begrudge Godfather Part 2, but I think I have permission to loathe superhero films that last more than 90 minutes, unless they’re doing something subversive.
And Lupita Nyong'o refused a role in The Woman King after traveling to Africa and researching the Dahomey history among the descendents of the Dahomey as well as their victims. There is a great documentary about it.
Felt the same way about woman king once I did a little research. And the fact that my fellow black people is willing to ignore that for the sake of "representation" is, while sad it's not surprising. Side note: I just "love" how Viola Davis is trying to shame people like myself into watching a movie I have no interest of seeing. You can have several seats on that one honey. 😂🤷🏾♀️
@Beyonder right. Also. Folks don't realize that these companies gotta make back all of the production/marketing costs before they see a profit. With that being said, they're only breaking even with those box office numbers as of now
Now if people could just be honest about slavery. It’s time people acknowledged that America and the commonwealth are the ones that ended it, instead of the narrative that currently exists.
And that only because there were female soldiers, they could have made a film about an African tribe that wasn't so bad, or just tell the story as it was, the Vikings were slavers to from UK, France, Eastern Europe, sacrificed people, looted, there are lots of good stories even if you tell the bad things too.
@@KkevrockK I seriously don't get people saying "They don't teach Slavery in school"...every time I say: "Then how do you know about slavery? How do I know about it? How come we both have the same conclusion about it? Because they taught us that in school."

Faith wasn't always a bad character. The difference between old Faith and new Faith, is that old Faith was kind of nuanced. She was fat, often underestimated, often the butt of jokes. But she was a genuinely kind person who would be there for her friends and enemies underestimating her would backfire massively. Wokes don't know how to write kind people, just narcissists like they are. Now, take that concept and give it to wokists? Now she's a mean spirited girl boss professional blogger chasing dudes that look like supermodels and no one ever mentions her weight being a problem.
I saw this comic in like, 2016, and I thought the design of Faith kind of made sense. If you have superpowers on earth, why would your super-powered-body look super-ripped, if technically there's no effort to build muscle needed? I mean, high metabolism from being super, doing a workout like Mr Incredible, and the skinny frame under body suit from The Boys cover that question, too. But I didn't mind Faith as an unusual take on it, and if she was a nice character who the baddies underestimate even better! Didn't know they made her all political but not that surprised.

When I watched the 300 all those years back at a young age, even then I knew the Spartans owned vast amounts of slaves and weren't interested in freedom (though its not like the Persians were any better). However, at least the director had the good sense to hyperbolise things so much by having goat people, enemy bosses with swords for arms and a highly dramatised version of Xerxes that the viewer absolutely knew to suspend their belief and just enjoy the movie.

I'm glad you actually mentioned The Batman. As a guy who loved the Bale Batman I was initially sceptical towards this new version. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Pattinson's performance, the style and vibe of the film, as well as its esthetics. I loved all actors.Batman, Gordon, the Riddler were all portrayed in an amazing way. In the terms of personality, this Jim Gordon felt more like the original and I couldn't care less of his race, because it wasn't there to push some narrative or make him the main hero. The film was a action movie with a lot of detective elements and I felt like I was reading an original Batman story from the 40s. Literally DC- DETECTIVE comics. The Batmobile had that old look with the taillights being bat wings. It was slow at times and Batman was basically wearing Mandalorian Beskar armour but it looked cool and it can be easily overlooked. It is definetely one of my new favourite movies and I will watch it along with the Bale trilogy.
the pattinson batman is based on old detective movies :D and more on the detective side which was something the directors were going for, i loved the movie cause it showed more of that side from the old batman cartoon from the 80's where it's more realistic in he gets beat up some but still wins in the end. i can't wait for the next movie and i really hope they keep the same vibe and dont ruin it
Last year every day on Twitter people was posting about Being gay and transgender is the greatest thing in the world and censorship is needed on this planet and I’m not gonna lie as a person that saw that almost every day I will admit, it almost got me thinking for two seconds that I was wrong to be straight and people should be more gay and sensitive to everything but then I snapped out of it and disagreed with it, but the fact that it could change a person‘s mindset for 2 seconds goes to show you how powerful the main stream perceptive of the Internet can be.
Something else that arose recently and was super controversial. Hogwarts legacy. We all saw how batshit crazy people got trying to ban the game, ban people from playing it, dox people and so fourth. Yet, for all their screaming they had almost no impact. Sure they caused some streamers to stop streaming. But it made a large amount of sales. This showed these companies that these people with the loud speakers have little they can actually bring to the table. Furthermore like you said. People are just done with identity politics. People are tired of being told that because they have pale skin or identify as male their opinions do not matter. It matters so little that even people who ally with them will be stepped ok the second their pinky toe goes over the line. I have come to the conclusion that any time a studio even gives a whiff of "if you oppose this movie or show or comic. You are racist" since they are watering the word itself down. Seriously. They called the game "forspoken" racist because the main character apparently was not called a derogatory name for her skin color. That is right they said the game was racist for not being racist. The same bad actors or a waste of talent (Downey Jr) doing the same character for 13 years. There’s no innovation in movies anymore. Like practical effects in the 80s pushing new grounds and VFX in the 90s and early noughties. And the same with stories there’s hardly anything new or interesting. The last really novel entry was John Wick with the “gun-fu” and its shadow society. Now horror and small production houses like Blumhaus luckily taken this void of poor stories.

Fair play to her!
Trust me many black people stayed far away from that BS movie. Once I saw the trailer I was like nah Im good
@Beyonder right.
We came to an Era in which we love shorter movies because they waste less of our time. What an Era.
I used to really like viola Davis but after that interview; I lost a lot of respect for her. To compare her character to super heroes was insane. I’m glad Lupita stood up and left good for her
Faith wasn't always a bad character.
Tropic Thunder is a fantastic movie. I remember being in the cinema with a packed house when it originally released. Everyone in my theater was laughing hysterically through out the run time. Lol
Tropic Thunder is Homosexual propaganda. Nothing fantastic about it.
It's likely the best comedy I have ever seen. The only film my wife ever told me to start over as soon as the credits rolled
@@johndodo2062 Yup. I was a high school kid when it came out. But I own the Directors Cut. Which is infinitely better than the theatrical release of the film.
What noooo WE just didn't know to be outraged at this along with blazing saddles LOL kidding aside I now use all the ones they are enraged at to make sure to go out and get or at least watch cause it will be good, common sense should play a part in what we watch
One of the most underrated roles of Tom cruise
Thanks for your commentary! There is one show I plead with you to review called Into the Badlands. Its a phenomenal show and I ask for you to support the petition to bring it back and shed light on its story. May God richly bless you and yours!

I can tell you one thing: while I'm not a movie maker, I am a writer and I have no intention of changing my characters just because a certain group may find them offensive. And if my publisher tells me otherwise, I will take my business elsewhere or find a way to self-publish my work. I'm not going to change a character unless it has to do with improving MY story. And if they don't like the characters, they don't have to read it. Simple as that.
Better off trying to self publish. Majority of these publishers are infected
Same, I also won't be changing what I write to please people, I take constructive criticism with a pinch of salt to better myself and write for fun. I also don't understand even a 1/10th of all these woke terms, genders, sexualities and etc? Like wtf is arosexual? I was asked about if character X is that and I just stared for a few seconds, then moved on leaving the question unanswered.
Stay indie it's way better

To that bit on Peter Pan, I 100% agree he should look like a trickster... The kid they chose for this remake doesn't look like he could hurt a fly, now compare him to Jeremy Sumpter in the 2003 Peter Pan movie and he defiantly looks like the kind of kid that would cut someone's hand off and feed it to a monstrous crocodile for the lols
"I've got better things to do" more or less sums up my attitude to Hollywood these days. We aren't starved for choice, so why would we eat the garbage they try to pass off as edible?
Exactly!!! Anyone who still watches these new garbage movies nowadays has absolutely nothing going on in their lives! True losers!

The superhero, Faith, was groundbreaking
...But only if we're talking about when she was landing to the ground.
I feel sorry for that woman who basically said "you must come see my movie or else" . She is delusional and detached from reality. She drank the coolaide, actually she has bathed in it .😢

Well considering she made a movie about the biggest slave trading tribe in Africa during that time period.. and tried to depict them as virtuous saviors says all you need to know about her.
Let's make the biggest slave traders into saviors of Africans. Delusional.

That's when I thought: she needs to have several seats. She's biting the hand that supported her up to this point and is due for a reality check.
She won an Oscar but misses the entire point of supply and demand.
The maze runner series is probably one of the best examples of a diverse cast that isnt diverse becuse it has to be. The main cast literally has all the races [white, asian, black, slightly gay british guy etc. ] and you dont even notice it thats how smooth it is.
I never noticed a gay British guy
Only slightly whit newt, u can see it the most when the main cast gears up in the second movie in that shoping mall after they have youst broke out
And it makra sense too as they are test subjects of all places and shit for virus research or something like that
Exacly thats what diversety in movies should be, it should not only be seemless but also tie into the story itself
@@blaizegottman4139 All British Men under the age of 25 are Gay, that's just kinda how things go over there.
I’m sorry to say I saw 30 minutes of it and lost 10,000 brain cells. Shaming people into buying tickets didn’t seem to work.
The persians had less of a preference for pederasty. And the pedos won.
Do keep that in mind when reading history, or watching it in any capacity.
To be fair, 300 was an adaptation of a highly stylized interpretation of an account of a historical event which itself is more myth than history.
@@richbailey819 a movie that adapts a graphic novel by Frank Miller, inspired by a film (The 300 Spartans (1962)) based on legendified events.
The heroic and whitewashed version of Spartans fighting for Freedom was already in the 1962 film. The stylish and fantasy elements come from Frank Miller, mostly.
@@richbailey819 That's exactly what I'm getting at, the director had the good sense not to try and invoke any national pride like the woman king did, but instead opt for a vague sense of freedom and independence, whilst directly appealing to its audience and not afraid to embrace masculinity.

What's amazing to me is that just recently, all of the celebrities are just now aware how worthless they have become
About 98-99%
Most of them have always been worthless
I think they are realizing all this woke crap movies is making it harder to make movies that turn big proifts. In short its hurting their bank accounts.
These same people are like "orange man bad", guess what we don't give a F what you think hollywood morons.
@fransnyder6592 - Well, in celebrities' defense, it's kinda difficult to be self-aware when you have people surrounding you telling you how great and awesome and amazingly talented you are ALL...
U re talking out of your ass

That’s happened to me a lot of times.
No, that goes to show how weak minded you are. I have never, not even for a second, questioned my sexuality.
@Crepounga you're obviously weak minded if you let the twitter gremlins get to you like that
The problem is, these movies are being made always at a loss, but Hollywood still can't help themselves at tripping in the same rock.
That's when they could borrow money easily. Tumes and interest rates have changed, thank goodness, so we will see less of that claptrap.
How the hell does that work out?
the only thing those people did was stop money being raised for the LGBTQ community since streamers wanted to do fundraisers
There are only two genders
Oh their defeat is even worse than how you put it. These elite Dahomy warriors were not for the most part gunned down but slaughtered in melee. These slavers were basically French bayonet practice.

The decentralization of media is inevitable, and if big tech, Hollywood, and these major studios want to survive in any capacity they’ll have to start actually competing again.
That means clean house, hire actual talent, and let true creatives be creative again.

I used to be an SFX/VFX artist and a massive film buff. But I noticed that before the overreaction during the China-lab-flu that I already was super hero tired. But most only have a limited theater release because theaters are generally owned by studios. So these days I buy a lot of B-movies and arthouse movies online and watch them at home, also more comfortable and affordable
