21:55 - Only 1 correction needed for this video that I could see: the pizza requests do not techinically "continue even after the story is completed". Thats simply when YOU finally finished answering those requests 😅🍕 lol If you are diligent in working on the deliveries *during* the story... you can complete all of them BEFORE the game ends. None of the orders are postponed until after the story campaign ends. This means that technically... Peter IS sending those requests to you, before he gets trapped on the Beach. It's just that most players dont complete all of the deliveries before the story finishes! So if you take care of them AFTER the story wraps up... it can seem as if Peter is making those requests after he's stuck on the Beach! But the game simply allows you to work on the deliveries at your own pace is all. It can definitely be a story plot hole, depending on WHEN the player takes care of the orders. The game should have come up with a different way of requesting the pizzas be ordered, in case the player is taking care of them AFTER the story wraps up. That way, there won't be any confusion about WHEN Peter is requesting them. It's one of the few mistakes Kojima made that can sometimes cause a bit of confusion, so I just wanted to clear it up for ya. This video is really phenomenal & it gave me a LOT to think about. Thank you so much for taking the time to formulate all of these ideas together. Hopefully, we'll get more of our questions answered in the sequel!
Respect! I'm 60 hours in since buying it on sale a couple of weeks ago. Hard mode out the gate because I feel the risks will make the journey more crucial. I am genuinely enjoying my time with it. Not rushing through the story and doing several standard deliveries while constructing roads to help complete key deliveries along the way easier. Oh wow. A theory that finally largely agree with my own? Most "explained" videos just touch on what's visible. So yeah, I agree with the theory that BB-28/Lou/Louise is Sam's flesh and blood daughter. And yes, she has DOOMS - a decent amount of it even given that when you part ways at Mountain Knot Sams abilities have been elevated to the point where he (not the Odradek) can see BTs, whereas back in the cave before BB obtained he could only sense them. However, I also think Louise is a repatriate by heritage. And the kicker is, I also think *SAM* is a repatriate by heritage. From Cliff. Keep in mind Cliff has a C-section (assumed to be from installing doll tech), is obsessed with doll tech, his statement in the end going "can't go get myself killed anymore", always able to bring back the squad, and have memories of several wars dated waaaay back. I think Cliff was being prevented by Amelie to repatriate; "I was the one that brought you back together again". Here is my reasoning: 1. Heading back east, Lou dies due to no stillmother nearby. But repatriates back at the very end. Same as what happens if Sam causes a voidout. How this actually plays out where BB is actually shown we get to see at the very first scripted voidout - vanish into thin air, turn into tar, walk back to beach presumably to repatriate, with a determination indicating it has done so many times before. 2. Getting to the incinerator area, Cliff ends up killing Lisa/Stillmother, soon after Sam/BB dies and real Sam snaps out of the flashback. 3. Next cutscene, you start in the Seam where Sam/BB died, and you have to find your way back to the body in Cliffs arms to repatriate. Then the scene continues. 4. Much later in this cutscene, *THEN* Amelie finds you at the beach and installs the doll tech to make you a repatriate. But you already repatriated. Is it this what upset everything? Because Higgs is a repatriating DOOMS sufferer too. But the word "brother" kinda bothers me in the last trailer; with Kojima I expect *everything* to be deliberate, even if some things are red herrings. 5. In the DS2 trailers, we get to see BB/Louise die (note the wings), focusing back on the pod where I guess BB/Louise pops right back in. Also note BB is crying tar tears, same as Higgs and Cliff, indicating severly elevated DOOMS levels. Higgs letters inform us what elevated levels can do. Some points I've noticed about BB: 1. It is *faaar* more developed than a 28 week fetus (plus whatever months it had in the pod given a regular BB life cycle); speaks at the end, flips people off, swims, makes hearts, and so on. The cake has 6 lights on it, indicating 24 weeks at the point that cutscene is from. 2. It has had many owners prior to Igor, which to me conflicts with having a limited life span as a BB. 3. While with Igor (and presumably others), it was broken. I assume this is because it had DOOMS and/or was a repatriate. 4. The massive secrecy surrounding both BB-28 and Cliff. 5. In the first DS2 trailer, it looks like - since Fragile and Sam are together - also her DOOMS abilities have been elevated given tar tears. How I think the first voidout happened: 1. Lucy "un-lifing" herself (lol, I see what you did there) was the source of the Manhattan voidout. When Tommie Earl Jenkins (Die-Hard Man) on his youtube channel reads out loud Lucy's interviews in , the Manhattan voidout is included as a preamble. 2. Sam is told everyone died ("was the sole survivor of the blast", but was he really?), but Louise keep dying and repatriating until found by researchers going through the rubble, and is then put into the BB program. Conflicts: 1. If you die by falling off a cliff in the beginning prior to obtaining BB, you repatriate using doll tech. But the actual repatriation *sequence* is the same as if you do have BB (via the Seam). I would expect the sequence to be the same as when Amelie installed the doll tech (through time and space). 2. I have no idea what happens if you die causing a voidout while BB is gone after Mountain Knot. Does the elevated DOOMS play into how the repatriation sequence plays out? 3. Why does the recent DS2 trailer zoom in on Higgs and BBs eyes, whose color is the same green. Eyes color meant something special in DS1 (Mama/Lockne). Oh, you did notice at the end, cool. I completely missed the no thumbs up (and looking angry), so thanks for that. 4. What on earth is the "I've got the extinction factor" all about, during DS1 opening cave scene? This one bugs me to no end. 5. What's the birthday date input prior to starting the game thing? Surely it must be a clue of some kind, but I fail to connect it to anything DS1 related. Other notes worth mentioning: 1. In the ship in the 2nd DS2 trailer, only Sam is breathing smoke. Nothing comes from - also grey - Fragile. In the game start cave, she *is* breathing smoke when BTs are nearby. Given how Mama's story plays out - who also don't breathe smoke - and knowing what that indicates, is Fragile even alive while on the ship? 2. The notes Higgs plays on the guitar is the start of BBs theme. From the end of the Vietnam scene, we know what "knowing the song" indicates. In combination with the "brother" Higgs said, it *REALLY* makes me wonder where this is going. 3. If Elle is Louise grown up and crosses into our world, wouldn't that break causality? Okay, it's Kojima, surely he could come up with some pseudo-physical way of explaining that. 4. In the recent DS2 trailer, I automatically thought of the spikes on Fragile's uniform, made a point of during the opening cave in DS1. Haven't connected it to anything useful yet though. In case it wasn't obvious, yes, I'm absolutely obsessed with this game, its story, and its presentation. Curious if I presented some food for thought, or at least a source for a good laugh.
I actually named my daughter Louise because of this game. The ending with Lou had me in tears! The story and connection with Sam and Lou had me from the beginning, and my daughter was born not long after the game came out, and her mom let me choose Louise 😂
I just finished the game yesterday and I can confirm this to be true. It is also suggested in some interview files that BB-28 might actually be Sam's biological daughter "Louise." It's going to be awesome to see what role Louise plays in DS2. This game is such a masterpiece.
Wait wasn’t bbs keychain from the brother of the guy that got voided out at the start of the game with sam??? I swear I remember reading the emails about it where he pointed out how he noticed you had his brothers keychain or something similar
I wish I knew more about this connection. How did Cliff get this? Perhaps it's the same reason bb28 has it. There must be a story to the obtaining of such a charm. Remember Cliff tells a story about exploring space???

So, in my opinion, Igor just put a Ludens man on his BB's pod. And Hideo put it there, and in Sam's memories to help with the misdirection. It's 2 different, identical spacemen. Igor obviously knew the Ludens Fan, as his flag was with Ludens Fan. We also get the Nendroid Ludens Hologram from Ludens Fan as well. Cementing his tie to Homo Ludens stuff. Not too much a stretch to think he gave his friend Igor one for his BB's pod. That's my 2 cents.
I haven’t played this game to completion in a minute but shit man your editing and writing and voiceover has a way of making me amped to play it again.
Your video was great accompaniment on my pizza delivery driving today! Helped me refresh a lot getting ready for death stranding two! What you got me wondering tho: I was under the impression that Higgs had no bridge baby and it was just that creepy doll, but now you got me wondering if there was a bridge baby in there at one time, and now you got me thinking about the ‘pods’ themselves having some residual connection as well!
Every time I hear Bridge Babies called "B.B.'s" it reminds me of how my mother would baby talk to my son after he was born. She would always emphasize the b's in the word baby like "There's my wittle bee-bee". Hearing her say B.B. many times in the vid brought it all back. And yes I know that "baby" and "B.B." sounding alike is intentional
After playing through the entire game twice and taking some copious notes the second time around, I believe I have a possible answer. Sam is the (EE/Amelie/Bridget)'s first repatriate. She states that the act threw everything out of balance. Cliff is not a true repatriate, as he is unable to return to the land of the living. Cliff IS, however, connected to Amelie's Beach through Sam's connection as a repatriate. Cliff's anger towards Amelie/Bridget and his unbreakable will to protect his son (Sam), give Cliff his abilities that we experience. The reason behind Cliff bringing his people back, as well as his control over BT soldiers in the warzones is explained during the game. War can cause an individual's Strand to intertwine with others. That is why Cliff was able to bring his people home. They were ostensibly "anchored" to life by Cliff's sheer will. Remember that Cliff was a soldier BEFORE the initial Death Stranding. The initial Death Stranding is heavily inferred to have been with Lucy/Lou. No exact time reference is given, nor is Sam ever given an exact age. By the difference in ages of the picture Sam carries and Bridget when we meet her at the beginning of the game, it is completely plausible. The "event" referenced by Die-Hardman and Cliff, I believe, was the first attack on the BB research center, Not the Death Stranding itself. Remember that deliveries had been completely automated, then suddenly humans were given back some minor roles so that they could feel useful. I believe that these roles were transporting pregnant mothers to the research facility (or facilities). Lou, as Sam's biological daughter, would inherit some of his ability, especially his ability to repatriate. In Chapter 14, we see Lou unresponsive, just as Sam is when he repatriates. Suddenly, Lou gasps and cries, similarly to what Sam goes through during a repatriation. However, Lou BROUGHT SOMETHING BACK. The same trinket that EVERYONE that looked for Sam had, including Deadman. The one that linked them to Sam's Beach. I also believe that Amelie (and/or potentially Lucy) were responsible for repatriating Lou WITH that trinket. I believe Lou is the catalyst for the Sixth Extinction and her role will be central to DS2. I believe Lou is either a conduit (or an actual full embodiment, though that is highly unlikely) of EE/Amelie/Bridget. It is highly possible that Lou has the same split Ha and Ka that Amelie/Bridget had, and Amelie repatriated Lou. Remember that the EE explained that it is torn between its nature to destroy life and its desire to be a part of life. I believe Sam is the repatriate (read: chosen "Harbinger") for Life. I believe that DS2 will introduce the repatriate for Death. (Watch the trailer ... I won't spoil it for you) Lou will be the one they will both fight over, and Lou will be the one to ultimately decide the outcome of the Sixth Extinction.
So amazing research and thought put into such a beautiful work of art game. One thing I will mention that I haven't heard much talk about is in the new DS2 trailer, Deadman voice mentions bb28 was incinerated years before Sam and Lou met. Basically saying that bb28 is from the unknown? Thoughts?
Damn Mox. Excellent. Thai video made me realize details I'd missed, tied together things I didn't understand, and grew my love for one of my favorite games of all time. I need to get off my ass and finally play the PS5 version, as I haven't played since the original PS4 release. Cant wait for more!! Also you know you gotta dig into Metal Gear at some point right? Kojima lore goes deeeeep
Victor Frank in Port Knot mentions he gave the Luden keychain to his brother Igor, the previous carrier of BB-28 (Lou!) So, I think it's just a coincidence that Sam was given the same keychain by his father. I'm not saying there isn't meaning behind the little Ludens dude, as there is a preper, Ludens Fan (its in the name!) that is obsessed with the stuff. He even has you make some Ludens related deliveries to Victor in Port Knot. Also, Ludens is the mascot for Kojima Productions, so maybe its product placement. The mofo isn't above that. I could be completely wrong here, though. Love the vid! The editing here is excellent!
Thank you for your dedication, effort, and everything you've done to provide us with such an insightful video. I truly appreciate it. This game moved me to tears like no other has before. I was deeply invested in the story, and despite my best efforts, I couldn't hold back my emotions.
I'm happy you enjoyed Death Stranding so much. While I did like the game, it really just made it clear to me that what I wanted was more Metal Gear Solid, and sadly that won't be happening. Good video Moxie.
@@MoxieWatts I'll be honest, your mentioning it is the first I've heard. It's clearly not in my feed, and while I'll probably play it, I'm not going lore-heavy on it like you have.
Wow this video is BRIGHT. And it's not even HDR. Some of the footage looks so vibrant it's fantastic. Guessing there was some post processing in the video editing.
So is it not surprising for BB-28 to survive void out? I’d have thought that surviving void out would be worth study. Even being meant to be between life and death wouldn’t make them void out proof
BB-28 would also be a repatriate for this idea to work. This could also align with why BB comes back when Sam dies. also maybe it wasnt studied because Amelie knew how that side of it worked since she is the one who did it to begin with. LMK what you think homie.
@@MoxieWatts given what’s implied in the trailer for the next game, something is special about her. Whether it’s being a former bridge baby, repatriation, or something else. Even if Amelie knew how it worked, that doesn’t mean bridges would have
“We do not… negotiate… with terrorists.” I wish that’d stay true…. But… the reality… contradicts that… As someone who has respect for men and women in uniform, I do thank you too, Moxie.
Whose the 5 things in the sky at start of game, and in the DS1 trailer. Thats unexplained i believe. Figuring out who BB 28 is, is apparently important to DS2 story. If BB28 is actually Sam+Lucy's child, it seems odd. The newest trailer says BB 28 was scheduled for incineration 4 years ago, long before you meet BB 28. I can understand and believe that someone did the same thing we did at the end of DS1. Someone pretended to burn BB 28, but they didn't. However I don't exactly know how long ago Lucy is apparently dead, how long ago were the previous voidouts, and do any line up with this order of events. We also got to figure out How Higgs can be back. The beach he is on should not be connected to any one else, and thus returning impossible. I will have to play the game again, assuming everything Bridges tells us is a Lie, or a white Lie, including Deadman, until the point he starts changing and becoming suspicious about Die Hard Man. Another weird thing. What does repatriation mean if the EE's beach is no longer connected to us or our world. Does that mean Sam can die now? If we assume BB 28 is a repatriate and thus thats how they can survive a voidout, like the one Lucy was in, Supposedly, then how would you be able to kill BB 28. New trailer says Lou is dead. This would also mean Fragile and others would be able to die, unless repatriation is different than what we were told.
can somebody explains me why in the game happened a Nuke explosion after i kill the guys in Millitary open World :D i leave them there and just played other missions, from nothing a Nuke happened with a big hole, i didnt know it so i never use the Red Magazines again into Humans.
dude i been wondering the same shit. like i guess the implication is the antimatter dissolved the floating tar from the pit at mt knot? not 100% sure but ig thats my best bet. whatcha thinkin?
Do you plan on doing Heavy Speculation on Metal Gear as well? Same creator and director… Pardon me for being blunt, but I must speak my mind. This was me back in the days: 2011 - Ah, Kojima-san! 2015 - Curse you, Konami! How dare you treat Kojima like $h!t! You’ve ruined Metal Gear! 2019 - Kojima… You really let yourself down… Upon reading other shady stuff that Kojima has done with his staff even back in his days with Konami, I can clearly say that David Hayter’s (Snake’s voice actor) grudge against Kojima is more or less justified especially when Kojima replaced him with Kiefer Sutherland for MGS5. Though this was not the first time Hideo tried replacing Hayter. He considered having Kurt Russell to voice Snake in MGS3! I can honestly say that Metal Gear Solid is where Kojima’s genius began to emerge (at most points), I did try to look into his other works like Zone of the Enders; regardless, Metal Gear is a gaming staple. How do you think Snake snuck his way into Super Smash Bros.? (While he didn’t make the cut in Smash 4; most likely due to the passing of Takeshi Aono, Col. Roy Campbell’s Japanese voice actor, and that alone had a negative impact on Metal Gear in Smash as a whole; what bothers me is that I never found out about this until around the time Smash Ultimate was brand new; yes… that long to piece it together…) While Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 is available in most present platforms, Konami still has a long way to redeem itself from the shady business practices it’s been doing since the last decade. As for Kojima… was I supposed to be on drugs before watching anything Death Stranding? Sorry, but the previews and reviews alone made me want to stray away from Hideo, Metal Gear mastermind or not. If anything, I’m more interested in what your speculations say about Death Stranding, because I’d rather listen in than to just “play the game.” Spoiler warning or not, it’s kinda my passion, *but not for the kind of games I want to jump into first hand.* P.S. If you want to dust off your GameCube and get Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (MGS1 remake), make sure you have the following games in your memory card: - Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem - The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Super Mario Sunshine - Super Smash Bros. Melee Special dialogue occurs when you have these.
Really freaking interesting stuff as always Tom! you have me more or less interested in what metal gear is about. It looks really cool. Eh, if you dont mind spoiling yourself its fine. Honestly the game is genius and genuinely fun. Like its a vibe like botw. If you like the chill vibe, id say its for you. If youre more in it for the action, there is action to be had
Chat gpt had me in time loop the other day lol, it kept telling me that amelie bridget and lisa are the same person, couldnt get it to stop tellong me that that i believed it for a while week and was making my own theories. Fucken love this game
What no one seems to appreciate (or even remotely understand) is the fact that Death Stranding is an allegory. It is a GNOSTIC allegory! If you can grasp that fact, then every bit of the game becomes crystal clear.

I won't spoil it for you)
Lou will be the one they will both fight over, and Lou will be the one to ultimately decide the outcome of the Sixth Extinction.
Yeah! thats the plan >:)
also~im glad, i really love this game and feel like the ideas and lore def need explored since DS2 is ~sooooon~
8:45 Dern straight!!!!! Sho don't! Freedom seeds for er'body!
Theres also the Ludens on Hartmans shelf!
I cant help but feel like it is the same one though...
I dunno DS2 looking tight asf already
thanks pixel!
@@MoxieWatts I'll be honest, your mentioning it is the first I've heard. It's clearly not in my feed, and while I'll probably play it, I'm not going lore-heavy on it like you have.
Samazon Prime 10/10
Even if Amelie knew how it worked, that doesn’t mean bridges would have
What if all BB are clones of Sam? But choosing for them to be a boy or girl.
“We do not… negotiate… with terrorists.”
I wish that’d stay true….
But… the reality… contradicts that…
As someone who has respect for men and women in uniform, I do thank you too, Moxie.
love the quality
This would also mean Fragile and others would be able to die, unless repatriation is different than what we were told.
thank you, thank you. thank you
Killer video.
Great video
Where can you play these voice messages you did?
Lady of Lore plays the voice of Lucy! I just asked her to read the lines. If you add me on discord I'd be happy to share them with you XD
Subbed, and sending to my friends
I wish you would've said Voidouts are cause by anti-matter explosions to be more precise🤓
Perfect
Me see Death Stranding, Me like.
i love that
can somebody explains me why in the game happened a Nuke explosion after i kill the guys in Millitary open World :D i leave them there and just played other missions, from nothing a Nuke happened with a big hole, i didnt know it so i never use the Red Magazines again into Humans.
dude i been wondering the same shit. like i guess the implication is the antimatter dissolved the floating tar from the pit at mt knot? not 100% sure but ig thats my best bet. whatcha thinkin?
Do you plan on doing Heavy Speculation on Metal Gear as well? Same creator and director…
Pardon me for being blunt, but I must speak my mind. This was me back in the days:
2011 - Ah, Kojima-san!
2015 - Curse you, Konami! How dare you treat Kojima like $h!t! You’ve ruined Metal Gear!
2019 - Kojima… You really let yourself down…
Upon reading other shady stuff that Kojima has done with his staff even back in his days with Konami, I can clearly say that David Hayter’s (Snake’s voice actor) grudge against Kojima is more or less justified especially when Kojima replaced him with Kiefer Sutherland for MGS5.
Roy Campbell’s Japanese voice actor, and that alone had a negative impact on Metal Gear in Smash as a whole; what bothers me is that I never found out about this until around the time Smash Ultimate was brand new; yes… that long to piece it together…)
While Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.
If anything, I’m more interested in what your speculations say about Death Stranding, because I’d rather listen in than to just “play the game.” Spoiler warning or not, it’s kinda my passion, *but not for the kind of games I want to jump into first hand.*
P.S. If you want to dust off your GameCube and get Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (MGS1 remake), make sure you have the following games in your memory card:
- Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
- Super Mario Sunshine
- Super Smash Bros. Melee
Special dialogue occurs when you have these.
oh yeaaaa
metal gear is a plan! oh thats so cool that he put in special dialogue
ill read the whole comment in a lil bit :)
Bro got the trailer early
I gush over a girl that can call someone a homie.
Sam’s partner?
You mean his wife?
I dont think they were married... at least according to Lucy's reports...did i miss something??
I'm newer to this game and dammit, I can't get enough of it. This is a wild ride 🤌
):] D YESSSSSS LORE!!!!!!!!!!!
Chat gpt had me in time loop the other day lol, it kept telling me that amelie bridget and lisa are the same person, couldnt get it to stop tellong me that that i believed it for a while week and was making my own theories. Fucken love this game
That would be as plausible as saying Sam and James are the same person…. They have nothing to do with each other lol
What no one seems to appreciate (or even remotely understand) is the fact that Death Stranding is an allegory. It is a GNOSTIC allegory! If you can grasp that fact, then every bit of the game becomes crystal clear.
