Kojima has a way of making the most outlandish shit with a straight face and at first it was weird, now I wish we had more games like it. Lol great video
@@piusdoe8984 And we don't want it any other way. The whackiness is part of the charm of its games. MGS would have never become the legendary franchise it is without what you call "eye rolling" stuff. It's a franchise where you can infiltrate state of the art military facilities guarded by elite soldiers by hiding in a box If you don't like that type of shit then it means his games ain't for you, not that he should change the way he makes them
I like Fragile, but I also think it would've been interesting if rather than wearing the neck-to-toe suit to hide her timefall-affected body, she had chosen to save herself and hid it out of guilt. Not that anyone else would necessarily know besides Higgs, but I think it would've been an interesting reveal that it wasn't to hide her physical wounds, but to hide the reminder of the choice she made from herself.
I love watching this 80 billion times because I get distracted reading something, realize I missed part of the video, and have to rewind and start again because my ADHD has no right to be stronger than my interest in this story lol Seriously though, great video. And great job untangling how complex this story is. I eventually got through it all :)
I watched the radbrad playthrough of this game and it absolutely wrecked me, I lost my own father as before I could remember, this game helped me understand and journey through a grief I didn’t know I had, i appreciate the work you do, I hope that it can help others in these videos
Sorry for your losses ❤ I lost my father but in my mid 20s. Game just got released for Xbox so I’m giving it a try. Half excited half not but completely confused 😂
I genuinely think these mistakes in the script were not mistakes or inconsistencies of the writer but more like a "human" mistake by the character who makes one-something we all could accidentally say while lying. Additionally it is a tip for the player, to sense something is wrong here.
You're making this game so intriguing. I completely passed over it and assumed it was ludicrous. Now your narration skills are showing the quality of this tale.
The game itself is a masterpiece of passion. Of course, the lore and such is a bit hard to get from time to time but I am happy that you summed up all the lore in this nice vid of a product of pure love. So thank you kindly, Lady of Lore, I tip my hat to you, One lore keeper to another. ^_^
I just recently realized what the channel’s pic is. I primarily listen to the podcast and the small pic looks like a dolphin to me. I just happen to see the main channel page the other day checking to see if there was a remnant 2 lore that I missed. That’s when I found this channel, when the remnant lore released. That was my favorite remnant lore vid. I recommended it so much when 2 came out. It told it like a story.
Hey welcome on in. It's always nice to hear when someone that listens to a podcast comes in and check out the vids. And you're not alone, it's about a 50/50 split on whether it's a dolphin or The Lady wearing a large hat 😅
I'm excited for part 3 since that's when I thought things got pretty wacky. Good job making sense of it all and presenting it in such an easy to consume way. Alan Wake 2 is going to be a cake walk by comparison
Kojima's lore and writing are wild - there are few storytellers at all similar, and he has such crazy ideas. I'm not always the biggest fan and think he needs limitations, someone to occasionally swat him with a rolled up newspaper and go "no, bad" or something, but that said...this is such a unique, enthralling story, at least when it's told in this video. I don't know what it's like to experience the gameplay, but I am so interested, drawn in from beginning to end. I'd chalk at least a fair chunk of that up to the storytelling/writing and excellent delivery of this video, though, I am definitely a big fan of this channel now. Subscribed and notifications set, I am eager to check out more.
I keep saying this, I love your work. You make your lore videos so entertaining to watch, you explore the beats of the story while injecting your personality into it. I'm still hoping that you hit 100k subscribers for the new year.
As a former Mailman In Ohio I weirdly related to the grind. I'm pretty sure i've experienced as many obstacles as Sam Bridges on my daily routes. Also didnt get a cool bike or armor to carry packages just a sack.
think kojima got inspired by the anime/manga "the ugly yet beautiful world" which has some plot point that are similar. For basic story... two boys are close friends, and have a decent friends group. One is more laid back while another is more hard working... both boys suffer abandonment issues as both dealt with abandonment issues in their early childhood.. and both work for delivery service. They end up seeing a shooting star and from that meet one then two girls from the start. Two parts of one hole. The main girl being the extinction entity. While one boy is the defiant of that time period. (in the lore each excitation event had a "fighter" to try an win but each failed) as it goes on the two main character fall for each other but never fully saying.. and during the "big moment" fights each other and finally say how they feel... with the two girls leaving with the next generation of souls. interesting anime.. it does have fanservice but is mild...
I always see the fan base of Death stranding make vidoes, fanarts, theories, videos that are under appreciated. i dont care about others think as long as we are enjoying the game. Thank you for this video, its amazing!
Kojima can produce the raw mental material for interesting & unique worlds & characters, but his writing is just...ugh. This whole incredible story is locked behind a needlessly fragmented & convoluted window of Kojima writing. Thanks to you, I'm actually able to engage with & experience a fascinating world & its lore that I otherwise was unable to while playing the game. Thank you for the effort you put into this!
Honestly, this is one of the best channels for video game story recaps that I have come across. I really hope you will get more recognition and attention, I'll be sure to share your videos. Keep up the good work!
I really appreciate these videos, I'm on my 2nd playthrough and I'm trying to get all the interviews but thank you for that 1st video going in the past of when the death stranding started. it's helped me piece together a lot of confusing things lol Thank you so much 🥰💜
As someone with low cringe tolerance, once again I thank you for having me pass through a Kojima narrative. I quited when Fragile introduced herself. Cheers, Tip.
These videos are very watchable. Far be it from me to tell you how to run your channel, but I might enjoy a bit more commentary or speculation on your part. Thanks again!
Your comment about not understanding pieces and parts of dialogue and story doesn't resonate with me. You've done another amazing job well done. Thank you.
I could never get far in this game because they tell you how to get by the 'monsters' but if you follow those instructions, they don't work. And right outside of the cremation place after getting rid of Brigid's, is one of those attacks. And MAYBE I can run through it because creeping around never works.
I might be able to engage with this story if the names for ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING weren't ridiculously on the nose. It's a testament to your ability to script and narrate that this was as coherent and followable as it was.
I totally respect that, and at the same time, I find the concepts rich enough to deal with, so the on-the-nose names give my brain some analysis relief 😅
Kojima is creative genius. But creative genius that needs a straight man to hold him back when needed. We'd get a better narrative story instead of cool ideas being strung together and We'd get actual games instead of walking simulators
I'm so caught up in this story even after playing the game a few times, but you explain it so well and add great depth to it. Well done! I'm gonna check out your GoW videos next. 🤌
Igor stabbing himself to try to kill himself was a real fridge horror moment. The second time I played through the game, this scene was mortifying
Kojima has a way of making the most outlandish shit with a straight face and at first it was weird, now I wish we had more games like it. Lol great video
The story of this game is like smoking fentanyl and eating the bath salts feels
Great ideas but he needs someone to hold him down. Some of this stuff makes you roll your eyes
@@piusdoe8984 that's not eye rolling! That's uji turo rotations!

Somehow Higgs returned 😂😂 see you in 2025 with DS2
I keep forgetting that this is a game and not a movie, at times.

Same, the ending really f'ed me up. I never had a father but that scene hit me so hard
