- Here's another classic episode of the soap As The World Turns, featuring the original broadcast commercials. Recent events include Frannie failing out of Yale, Lucinda committing robbery to persuade that Sierra's necklace was stolen, and Bob fearing Kim's invitation to have Chris and Nancy live with them.
Nothing like a 2pm Soap Opera from the 80s to bring back memories. Steve and Betsy Andropolus was a classic Soap Opera Couple
My mother watched ATWT from its premiere in April 1956 until she died June 30, 1998. I miss hearing the voice of Dan Region.
I also miss Dan he was a staple his voice was like butter
Thanks so much for sharing this with us. Don't think I've ever seen it before. Loved all the scenes with various friends and family in and out of the Hughes house. Very heartwarming, and something ATWT and other soaps lost all interest in, to their demise.
I remember when they righted a wrong and brought Chris and Nancy back to the canvas. Don MacLaughlin was fairly lucid in this episode - sadly he would soon quickly decline. Loved the scene between Tom and Chris.
I loved Gregg Marxx so much as Tom. He was Tom for me during the years I watched the show. I did love Justin Dee's too. My mother watched the show when I was a kid.
I miss ATWT so. I’ve watched the 1979 & 1985 episodes every fall for the last 10 years nearly.
An Australian friend got me hooked on ATWT in 2005. Great season! Check it out! They shot from 8th place to number 4 that year.

I still wish a streaming site would put up all the classic soaps preferably start Jan 1980 to Dec1989 (to make it easy) I think we could all admit the 1980s were the best for ALL of them.
Soaps, like daytime talk shows, are sadly the most ephemeral forms of TV, which is a shame since many stars got their first breaks on them. SOAPnet once posted a bunch of episodes back in the 2000s, and some classic episodes of The Bold & The Beautiful and The Young & The Restless have an official channel, but all of the P&G and Sony soaps are nowhere to be found outside of fan recordings.

AOL did something years ago where they showed classic Another World starting in 1980...There is also a site that has every episode of the Doctors and of course Dark Shadows...so it's not unheard of. I still wish I understood why some of them were filmed in NYC and others on the west coast.
