Hi Julia - I love making covers this way. They are easy and add so much whimsy to a notebook. Yours are really pretty. Love the one you watercolored. Have a great week. Hugs 💕🧵
Oh My Gosh!! I love that butterfly fabric. So stylish! Initially I was like Nooooo when you were going to put that other butterfly on top haha but as always it turned out AMAZING ..I was taken aback by how easy it all came together. Thankyou for posting 💙
Hi Julia, thanks for sharing such pretty books, you always have wonderful ideas for gifts!! Will have a rummage through my stash and see what I can come up with .x
Hi Julia, it's 2nd January 2024 and I've decided to set some life goals and use journals to keep track of my progress. I was so excited to see this video as it's inspired me to make covers for my journals. Thank you so much for sharing your method - I can't wait to choose some fabrics and get started ❤
Hi Julia! Your journal covers are fantastic! They can be as plain or embellished as you like depending on the lucky recipient. I have a few orphan quilt blocks that didn't work out in a project that would be awesome as a journal cover with some embellishments. Thanks for sharing your creativity and the inspiration!
Julia, I love your projects because you are creative in your choices. The improved sweatshirts are my favorites. Can you give me reasons why I need to make those journal covers that are so cute. Do people use them anymore and what for. I think I’m missing out on something that others are fond of. Help me.
Hello again Julia, I have a few questions that I hope you will have the time to answer. 1. The inks you use, archival, do you have to heat set for them to be permanent on cloth? 2. The brushes used, how do you clean them? 3. Do you use the same brush for the different colors or? 4. What are your preferred ink colors that you use for almost everything? I ask because I would like to make the journals for a craft fair I have coming up. I have been using embroidery and sometimes I can't find the theme I want, so, stencils to the rescue! Thanks for your help in advance.
The archival inks are waterproof. I didn’t heat set mine. If I’m using a stencil, my favorite way is using the archival ink pads and oval makeup brushes. You should clean the brush before using a new color.

Hi, Many people use notebooks for journaling or a place to add photos etc.

I tried to make this, but not knowing the size of the lining I'm really struggling 😅
The lining size depends on your notebook size. The height is cut the same as your front and the width is cut an 1” shorter on each side.
Thank you so much!!@@stitchesbyjulia
Hi Julia! Do you prewash the canvas?
Hi, I do not prewash the canvas.
