Clear, concise, focused, down to business, no inappropriate giggling, no talking about boring family and life, No music. It’s wonderful! thank you very much.
Fun fun ❤❤❤. If I print a digi kit thats one sided I use a sprayer with the coffee mixture just on the plain side, you should try it, you'll be surprised at the results you get. I also don't oven dry because gas prices here are really high so I rigged up some old window screens that were left here and use them like tables in my sun room, they dry pretty fast. This is a great video thx.❤❤❤
Thank you very much. For once I wasn’t overwhelmed by the instructions and I feel like a junk journal is achievable for me. I love your voice and pace of the video. It’s so awesome that I don’t have to haunt charity shops for old books to make the cover. I’m looking forward to the next steps. I can’t thank you enough.
OMG where have you been hiding? I have only watched a small piece of your tutorial and am blown away by how informative it is!! Can't wait to start my first journal. Thank you!
This is one of the Best junk journal tutorials I have found on UA-cam! Thank You! I know I'm watching this 10 months later, but just getting in to junk journaling and loved this tutorial! Thank You!
Boy do I love the way you make a journal in that you tell us each step then demonstrate it right after and as you show us you explain why you do it (like the way you do you cover corners on the inside and even save them). i very much look forward to your next video. XOXOJANE
This was my first tutorial regarding junk journalling.. i feel like i won the lottery getting to watch this without overbearing loud music constantly playing and destroying the experience. ( aswell as the want to/ or bother to even attempt anything after the video is over!).. your book is beautiful.. im going to enjoy repairing two cookbooks spines and covers firstly with custom new covers before i get to try do an actual junk journal...
I've been making journals for years, but I found your very clear instructions helpful, giving me insight as to how to improve my own process. There were no excess words to confuse the instruction, no music to cause distraction - only clear and concise instruction. Thank you . I look forward to watching the rest of the process!
Thanks for sharing and I wanted to add a tip of my own - to get the crinkle we all love in our journals I spray my papers with my coffee or tea solution and then microwave them! Microwaves are different I know but I can dry 5 thin sheets in approximately 77 seconds. If I’m drying card stock I usually dry them for about 88-100 seconds. Just a quick way I’ve found works w/out using my regular oven.
I use my food dryer. It has rectangular shelves (not one of those round food dryers); I can set it to lowest temp, for about an hour, and dry about 24 tea dyed photocopy papers in a bit less time than that; also no worries about possible fire issues either.
I just found this UA-cam art style. Never heard of junk journals until last week. I feel like I’ve discovered my next level I needed to be inspired. Thank you so much for your teaching
How awesome to have a sister with similar interests! Your idea of using the same paper to reinforce the corners is genius. I've been making journals and watching journal videos for about 7 years and to the best of my memory, no one else has done this. I can't tell you how many times I have had to resort to book corners to clean up my mistakes.
I followed along with this series as I made my second ever journal. The first was a no-sew, and really was just for learning the basics. The attempt I've made with this series is a whole different universe. Your videos are wonderfully thorough, your insights so very helpful. I wish I had a more organic style like you do. I'm one of those (anal) linear folks who struggles with arting outside the lines, but you definitely inspire me to stretch! I 100% agree with the previous comments referring to your lovely voice and - to me - accent, and the pace. I appreciate that you include your creative processes and oops moments, and watching you overcome those little mistakes and make them part of the project. Thank you!
I think comments made to only address a statement that turned out to be incorrect, (and didn't really matter, we can figure it out) can be hurtful, because there is alot of good stuff in your videos that we 😍 and find useful, inspiring and very creative! Print or don't print, with border or without, whatever ... there are a lot of ideas to gleen from every video you make!! ❤😊 I'm a subscriber!! Bouya!
Oh wow! Thank you so so much. I have just made my very first junk journal along with you. I’m so happy! I really love your sisters printables too. Thank you!❤
Loved how simple you made the process and the piece about using the cut off triangles for the corners of your cover before you glue the insde sections was genius TFS 🥰🥰🥰
This is a wonderful and easily understandable tutorial to follow. Could you please explain measurements for making the holes to sew in the signatures? Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing this awesome tutorial! You are a born teacher-not everyone can explain things so concisely without extra fluff. I subscribed!!
You mentioned that you have a laser printer. Does this help the digital kit images to not bleed when you get them wet in coffee? In my experience, with my ink jet printer, when I coffee dye them after I’ve printed, the images fade and bleed. Therefore I print digital kits on on already-dried coffee stained paper that I iron and then run through the printer. You are one of the best instructors ever❤
I know you commented a while ago but maybe I'll be lucky enough that you see this. Have you had any trouble with your printer since printing on coffee dyed paper? Do you recommend it? One day when I win the lottery I might be able to get a laser printer LOL.
@ hi! I have better luck coffee dying paper, letting it dry, then ironing it flat. Then I can print on it. The colors are a little muted, but at not faded like wet paper would be. The reason I iron them is so they don’t jam up in the printer.
Thank you, Shana!...For the artist that you are...my favorite. :) Your information is not incorrect!... Shana must have a printer configured for the "adjustment" menu - Adjust Photo. My printer is an HP Smart Tank Plus 555, inkjet, very normal! Prints without white border and with white border. If you print in "Adjustment"-Fill page, you get an A4 size print. If you print in "Adjust"-Adjust photo, you get an 8"x11" print, as the authors advise. I only use the A4 size, when it's printable, with a single color background, for best use. In my experience, I used A4 printing for the images and I didn't like it. They are huge, unmeasured.
Great tutorial, thank you. Love the tips on tearing your paper then coffee dye! Also using the cut triangles on the corners for coverage! Wow. Your journal is beautiful so far!
This instructional video was very inspiring. It makes what I felt was a daunting task doable. I like that there are no distractions like music or jabbering. Thanks.
Thanks so much for sharing your process. I love recycling boxes for books. Your video has very helpful techniques. I’m saving this to watch again. The book is so gorgeous!😍💖

The cover is an old pizzabox and I have sewn in three signatures using watercolour paper, and I really hate sewing. I feel very proud of myself, so thank you for that!

Love this 🤩💖✨💞💫💝 I’ve found that most every glue I’ve used on food boxes does not adhere to the slick waxy coating on the boxes. I’ve gotten to always lightly sanding any waxy coated boxes. Then the glues hold great. Thank You for sharing your talents and wisdom with us 💝
Wonderful Tutorial! You are very easy to understand each step! 🥰😍 I really Love the step of tearing the papers then coffee dying for a great edge! 💖 Looking forward to the other Journal making videos! TFS - Crafty Hugs!
Thank you for the tutorial. I really appreciate it. I have started so many journals with great difficulty and not a successful completion rate. Hopefully, I can now complete most of them as there seems to be some type of formula that makes so much sense. Thank you so much!❤

Hmmmmm I use Mod Podge and never had an issue 🤔💖
Wonderful Tutorial! You are very easy to understand each step! 🥰😍 I really Love the step of tearing the papers then coffee dying for a great edge! 💖 Looking forward to the other Journal making videos! TFS - Crafty Hugs!

Thank you for the tutorial. I really appreciate it. I have started so many journals with great difficulty and not a successful completion rate. Hopefully, I can now complete most of them as there seems to be some type of formula that makes so much sense. Thank you so much!❤
