You're not the "Basic" Filmaker... You are the "Master", no scratch that... you are the "Jedi Master" Filmaker... lol Thanks Kevin for another great video.
You convinced me to make lists last year and that has really help me to make videos. You have that GIFT of making really good videos and I love your instruction.
I can't say how many times I missed a step and it caused no end of problems. Just like an aircraft pilot, having a checklist is the best way to ensure you perform each step every time. I shoot outdoor adventure activities, so I have to add a few additional steps like 'clean the lens', 'clean the windshield' if I'm shooting in the vehicle, and 'verify all the batteries are fully charged'. Each one of these is a hard-earned lesson. 🙂
Kev!! You're an inspiration. I am on my way to making every mistake you've mentioned, and I hope I get there one day! Last video I accidentally shot with a bat in the cave 🦇 🤦♂️ Practice, practice, practice! It's awesome to see you ROCKING again! I've been a slacker subscriber recently - in for a binge watch session tonight!
It’s such a minefield; especially when you have to set up and take down everything before and after! Lights and all. I’ve had to learn to take my time and not rush. Worst one I did …… Attempt 1 - Forgot white balance. 2. Camera didn’t focus properly. 3. Forgot to turn on audio recorder. 4. Finally got the shots and sound! I only found out when I put the shots onto my computer. In the final video, I was sweating from the strain!!!
This is a great video but you forgot an important item ffor the checklist that most people forget when setting up a camera: Eat a tastey meal. I ate a really good Croque Monsieur sandwich with black forest ham, gruyere cheese, dijon mustard, and thick slices of white bread! I find this sandwich to be filled with subtle flavors and not hard to make! I hope you all get to eat a really good sandwich as well!

I just kept imagining the Addams Family theme song playing, with the clapping of hands and clicking of fingers and everything. Great checklist!

Wow! I’d love to see your full checklist! :)
Another great video. Is your wife off camera in the outtakes? :)
Yep! She is the Angel who helps make this happen. :)

Hey Kevin good reminder info for those of use who have been doing this for awhile, but not often enough to have made this a habit. Thank you
Very welcome!
Thanks, Kevin! Always useful and practical tips.
You bet!
I just stumbled upon your channel. Thanks for sharing this great information with us video newbies. It will definitely help.
Very helpful comments! It’s those little things that really help when you’re mind is on other things like not looking like a dork on camera! 😂
So true!
Yep been there with the full card issue.. great tip about the formatting
Glad it helped. Thank you!
Very Good list!

So true Ian!
And don't be afraid to commit the list to paper, and check it off as you go. BTW, anyone else, go to the bloopers first and then watch the video 😆
😂
Great idea! I watch the bloopers first too! LOL!
:)

So true! And…now I’m hungry! :)
I ike the slightly defocused background, helps the viewer pay attention to you the presenter.
Thanks!
What do you mean by aperture 320 or 640? My main lens does f1.4 - f22
That’s F stop. Sorry for the confusion.
good 7mins.
Thanks!
