When I see these types of videos, I can't help but feel a great void...And then I imagine John there, 1994, a healthy 53 year old guy, all jokes and wisecracks, remembering his band and being complimented for his solo career with his mates and wife and son...and smile.

Hard to believe that after 40-something years this adolescent "anti-Yoko" rant still goes on. She lived, breathed, had a kid and died with him. John OBVIOUSLY loved her more than being a Beatle or being some kind of "fan hero." All sorts of praise for John while bashing Yoko is bull^%$#, and shows no respect for him. I was expecting something different from Yoko. I was impressed. She was humble, kept her speech short and gracious and certainly looked elegant.

Yoko didn't break up the Beatles. John broke up the Beatles. He'd wanted out since '65. And it took him teaming up with Yoko to find the courage to leave the band. He said as much in many interviews.

There was a lot of issues in the band. Paul had become obsessive. John no longer cared about recording. George felt he had done all he could as a band. They all wanted to explore different routes.
Anybody that blames Yoko for the break up of the band is out of their mind and just spewing bullshit from 40+ years ago.
What Yoko has done in the years after John's death in keeping his memory alive, going to every parole hearing for the cunt that killed him, fighting for his name rights to continue to be first...anybody who can't see the real love that was there is blind.

As much as Paul wanted to see John inducted he also wanted Yoko to give him the tapes of Johns Demo's for 'The Threetles' to work on, so he's probably thinking "Just TRY and say no now!!"

Yoko looked good here and we got to see her in a way that John loved her. Smart and savvy. Paul and Yoko buried the hatchet and Yoko gave Paul the tapes that the Beatles finished. Paul knew the Beatle breakup had more to do with the group not being able to work together and Yoko played a small part in that. George wanted out and John was doing drugs and Paul was involved in the groups legal dispute involving Alan Klein. The breakup seemed imminent.
Yoko actually looks pretty there.

I don't know exactly why Paul was looking at her like that but there are vidoes (also on UA-cam) from shortly before Paul's induction speech in which Yoko probably asked him if he hated John or something like that. Paul seems shocked and replies in that way. Maybe that's the reason Paul looks at her the way he does.

Someone below said she tossed his award in a trash can and ran. Not correct. I was actually less than 10 feet from her and Sean, and JFK Jr. was also at their table. She and Sean did in fact get up and leave abruptly with the award still on the table, which appeared to be quite intentional. I ran over to tell Jann Wenner it was sitting there, so that some waiter wouldn't get it. He said "Can you bring it to me?" When I went back, having been gone less than 40 seconds, it was gone and I did not see it anywhere around the table or in anyone's hand. Not sure anyone knows where it is. My interpretation of this was not disrespect of John or of the award that she had gracefully accepted, but the fact that the statue itself did not mean anything to her. She auctioned off most of his stuff. It obviously wasn't for the money, it would be a tiny fraction of her wealth, but you could call it "imagine no possessions". She is not known for accumulating cars or jewelry or other worldly goods.

Joya Johnson I think you've misinterpreted his body language. I think he was biting back tears. I grew up with The Beatles. They obviously have their differences, but some things is certain, (1) they never dis each other, (2) they always have each other's back, and (3) Paul and John had a vey unique professional relationship. George once explained why we rarely heard any of his songs during those years. He said, "Are you kidding? I was going up against The Beatles." John and Paul WERE The Beatles. Paul will never, ever cause a scandal involving John. Beatles4ever.

I could swear the woman feels some jealousy and resentment due to the fact that John fathered him with another woman. She never belonged! But because John was also about being the center of attention, he recognized that kindred quality about her. However, she never had the talent that came along with wanting fame. And therefore unlike Paul's Linda who did not push past a certain line into overt tastelessness, Yoko became renown for her tastelessness. Her cruel insensitivity towards John's first son reflects her crass disregard for the feelings of others.
