I absolutely relate to what you said about working a lower-paying job outside of college. It is so hard to not regret my college choice now that I have been out for six years and still feel like my jobs are too low-paying for how much myself and my family invested in my education.
I have about 33k right now excluding my mortgage all on my credit line which was a major renovation, a piece of land, our honeymoon, and my fiances car loan since my interest rate was better. I have been debt free my entire life and then we made a ton of big life choices this year which was super expensive. I have a plan to get rid of it before 2027!!
Thanks for being vulnerable! Started my debt payoff in March 2024. Im down $32k (with lots of help)!! Its like a game to me now. Though it does get tiresome at times. Using a budgeting app YNAB is the only way it works for me. My goal is to be high-interest debt free by April 2025. I have an auto loan with a 5.49% interest rate and Im going to let that mature when its scheduled to. Then, I have to start again when I purchase a home. But this process has taught me a lot and I will only enter into a mortgage that will allow for a good and quick exit plan. Cheers to debt-free living 🥂
Thank you for your video. I’m am feeling overwhelmed at my current debt, in large part due to job loss and very little income coming in from some consulting I was doing. Also having some major health challenges. I have no family who can help. What I wish is that I could find an affordable expert who can provide me with some sound advice on how to manage this.
$346k on a mortgage with 27 years to go. I honestly have no intention of paying it down early. I'd rather have my "extra" money accessible (and growing) in a brokerage account than locked up as equity. I can always throw it at the mortgage later if I change my mind. Thankfully I have no other debt. The mortgage payment doesn't bother me since it feels like rent.

So true. Debt is common!
I have student loan debt, credit card debt, and a mortgage. And a plan!

it definitely does get tiresome at times, but congrats for sticking with it! Debt free living is much, much better than the alternative.
Please make a video about college! I need some reassurance that it was the right thing to do even though I now have so much debt!
I definitely will!

My husband and I bought a house in 2020 and that’s our only debt but it’s a big one
Mortgages are a whole different ball game than other kinds of debt because of the amount and the front loading of interest.
@ absolutely, the interest alone on our mortgage is crazy
