What a beauty! $200 is a great deal, these old ones with rigid front go for much more in Europe.
My insurance values my ciao at 1000€. And it didn’t even run at the time 😂Got it all sorted and running just this weekend!
200$ is insane, one of the first editions ever build , with all the original parts costs about 2500€ in germany
Nice man! I have 2 of these all original parts (even the plastic sides) I got for $100 each. This video really helped me do a lot of the maintenance they needed since I’m the second owner and the first brought them over from Italy in 75’ and never maintained them. Great job, hope you enjoy the Vespa!
Hell yeah ! Glad I could help have fun with those ciaos
Thats nice man :) Bought one 2 years ago, and really just cleaned the engine, cylinders etc. and it after standing still for 1 year started like a charm :D These old italians are great
Just bought a Vespa Bravo that has been sitting in a garage for 5 years... Took it out, pedalled a bit and it started... amazing italian machine.
I have a 1986 Ciao, with the leading link front fork. I wish it had rear suspension. It's a real back pounder. I have hit 30 mph GPS on it. I also have a 1970 something Solex 3800, and have hit 21-22 mph on it.
Piaggio is the brand, Vespa is a scooter, Ciao is a motorcycle...
@Fritz Donnerschlag it's not Vespa but Piaggio, Piaggio produced a renamed version of Ciao for german market called Mofa and limited to 25km/h...
it's a moped
in this video there is a ciao from piaggio, a 50cc moped, vespa is a scooter from piaggio too...
I have 1 that doesnt run. I was thinking of converting it to an electric e bike. I am not a fan of the gas/oil mix, and carbs. The best feature was the Vespa Leather saddle bags that came with it.
Hey bro can I get the link to the tool to take off the flow wheel?
Stator was so clean because the flywheel plastic cover (oval thing) was still on it fortunately! :D
How fast it do
Great bike!!! Where did you get the yellow fuel line with the filter from?
From Amazon ! But I buy mine in a 50ft roll that’s a little excessive for most haha
Stens 115-335 Tygon 5/16-Inch by... www.amazon.com/dp/B001OKA0Z0?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
What bike is that your friend is riding?
Very hot vid of you and the moped. How heavy are you?
Bro i just need the piston ring for mine😢 do you guys know whats the size of the piston ring?
One of the few Ciao bike video , that is detailed. I have one from 1978, all original but does not run. It was sitting in someone's yard under a tree. i found that the gas tank is very rusty. It's not rusted through. Any recommendations on cleaning the tank? Thanks in advance. Great job on the video.
Use white vinegar and water, let it sit overnight, drain and then dry it out
Hi. Good video. I bought a ciao yesterday. Can you make a video when you work on your ciao?
Yup! I’m editing the new video right now it should be out tomorrow
Just why people need to comment what we can watch on the video. The dude that drive, can't be without talking even for 5 seconds.
Good sir. Can you launch in India sir. I am from India Maharashtra. I have kinetic Luna super electronic. But unfortunately the Luna company is closed. Which is the same ciao engine.
it need a dr43mm with a polini 65cc cilinderhead a 13/13dollorto jet 66 and the exhaust citypower :D
Haha i have exacly that
Check out the latest video that’s exactly what I did !
i just got mine going this weekend but I'm having problems with the throttle. Do I need to order new parts or could I try to fix it. I can't twist it all the way it gets jammed
Check is the slide is getting jammed in the carb or if it’s happening on the throttle end shoot me a message on Instagram @luna_moto I can help you out
If you completely restore it and keep it completely original with the original documentation you can sell that Piaggio ciao for around 1000€ here in Italy (where I live)
well done buddy
do you have carburator delorto sha 12/12 ?
I don’t have an extra what I ended up doing was drilling out the carb to 13mm I’ll have a quick video on how to do it soon !
@@lunamoto6495 ok sound great !
Hey bro im seeing this vid today i have a bravo and mine doesnt start it has spark fuel and air going in how do i know if the exhaust is clogged like yours or any recommendations on why it doesnt start please help me
When you turn the engine over put your hand over the rear of the exhaust you should feel air hitting your hand also check compression pull the spark plug and put your thumb over the spark plug hole and when you turn the engine over it should lift your thumb off the spark plug hole that’s usually a good rule of thumb (no pun intended)
You should replace the plastic flywheel cover which is important for cooling.
Already got a new one 👍🏼
I have a 78 Si, its very similar.
Yup ! Same engine just a different frame I’ve had a si before such fun bikes
Nice, the tóp speed?
25mph
$200 bucks? i bought one today for about $10... you got ripped of.
Who even wants $10. Might aswell give it to you for free. Btw they sell for 800 dollars here in Denmark
