Making mutton (lamb) and gadra on the outside fire for scrumptious bunny chows!

  • Hi all
    We had guests coming over and after we made the braised chicken ( • Making masala fry chic... ) on the outside fire we were requested to cook a mutton curry on the outside fire for making bunny chows.
    This recipe will be for 10 people.
    Ingredients
    3kg lamb
    Marinated with
    1 tbs steak and chops spice
    1 tbs BBQ spice
    1 tbs crushed ginger and garlic
    1 tbs Worchestershire sauce
    2 tbs oil
    For braising
    1/2 cup oil
    2 small onions, sliced
    2 tomatoes, cubed
    1 1/2 cup gadhra beans
    5 med potatoes, halved
    2 tbs mixed masala
    1 tsp pure chillie powder
    1 tsp garam masala
    1 tsp dhania & jeera powder
    1 tsp hurdee (tumeric)
    1 large cinnamon stick
    1 tsp rough salt, adjust to taste
    1 tsp crushed ginger and garlic
    stem of curry leaves
    fresh thyme
    dhania to garnish
    Served in bunny chows with carrot salad on the side.

    Oh aunty that looks so lovely im definitely going to try ur recipe...my problem is i can never get alot of gravy it always goes so down

      You must check the gravy and add water if its not enough.

      The water is harder (has more minerals) but also boils at a lower temperature (85deg) than water in Durban would.

      That’s an old washing machine drum. Someone in Durban welded some feet onto it.
