I have the silver dial day date and I love it to death. If they charged $6000 it would be a bigger hit. Being a watch enthusiast it feels to so cheeky to have knowledge of such a bargain in this market. I may even get a second one in that chocolate dial.
The watch really is impressive in person, I wasn’t sure about this one by looking at the pics, I ended up buying the 38 mm with blue dial no day window and I still love it had it for about 9 months now
The amount of money some of you guys spend on watches CONSTANTLY...just blows my mind. Initially I was in a fever to buy buy buy, and I did, but I feel like appreciating what I have for awhile. I Enjoy the videos!
I just bought this watch same configure as you but with the Roman and diamonds, just today made the last payment to fully own it and I wear it nearly daily at the office, many compliments, I love this watch more every day, it literally has everything I love in a watch day date, that stitches promptly At midnight because I work overnights at a hospital so that matters to me, screw down crown so sporty and versatile oh, it's funny on a recent vacation a few months ago oh, I wore mine into a pool with one of my nieces on vacation and she was like Uncle Don your watch because she saw me holding it underwater on my wrist and I was like don't worry it's a sports watch It can go underwater lol, I just love it because this watch is the one and done really, from the office, to any dress function, to the field and sports. Congrats on another awesome piece. Your collection is what a lot of us dream of but you earned it through all your hard work on here. Always liked this watch much of the same vibe as a Rolex day date but with its own twist and for a fraction of the price.

Great video I just have one question! Is the gold really solid or capped because I found this scrolling in the comments in another review: "The Black Bay S&G models have solid crowns, bezels and end links while links in the bracelet are capped. The 1926 and Royal lines do differ. The Royal bezels and bracelet links are capped while the crowns are plated which helps assist in keeping the cost more approachable. The 1926 models have solid end links with capped bracelet links and bezels, however the 28mm versions do have solid bezels. You may see or hear otherwise, but this info is direct from Tudor." Thanks!
Mate I’m feeling this.. Watches are conversation pieces and timepieces... this one certainly is both!! I think two tone is coming in or in already!! Enjoy the honeymoon mate!!! Look forward to the review!!!
I’ve just picked up the chocolate brown dial variant that just got released . I am very pleased with this watch . This watch gives me a certain vibe which I enjoy much !
The Royal is the best value in watches right now, I got the stainless blue dial. To me it looks like a modern oyster quarts and I love it. I believe it’s gonna be a real hot watch when everyone catches up to it. Bruce,Wear it in great health,Jeff.
I just bought one and I agree at this price point I believe they are going to ask end up scarce fast, I think they'd likely already be mostly bought up if it hadn't ever so quietly snuck into the market. So like I said on your other video I grabbed one fast since I love this model you have way more than most of the others, maybe 2 of the others I liked nearly as much as why chance it... Also even in your comments I see people agreeing they are buying them and plenty of them so I think these are only going to rise in value and scarcity! I'm excited to be ahead of the curve this time and just can't wait to get mine in hand and wear it! 😁
Great video as always Bruce. I must say that I absolutley love this watch! It looks fantastic on your wrist and the two tone really works for this model. Its also an incredible value, it just amazes me how divided the comments are on this watch.
Had to go back and do a double take but from the underside, there doesn’t appear to be spring bars holding the bracelet in place. So this is probably held in place by screws.
Congrats Bruce, I'll agree it looks better on your video than on their website. I've got a 2-tone datejust, and sometimes, I gotta be honest, I love 2-tone better than solid gold watches, and here's why... The contrast of the steel with the gold, allows the naked eye to better understand the luster of the gold and appreciate via the contrast. The 2-tone Rolex Rootbeer is much more preferable to me, than the full gold model, because the steel makes the Everose shine even warmer, by comparison. Cheers!
This watch is beautiful but the integrated bracelet is a concern as the connection to the watch head seems thin. The bracelet gold portion is as u said, wrapped gold not solid gold. It resembles strongly to Tudor Classic in design, except Classic has non-integrated bracelet which is more flexible.
I actually like this watch! I swore I’d Never and could Not be a two tone guy but…. My next piece is going to be one! Oh and, get the ETA Pelagos :) 2 lines and a daily wearer! Thanks Brother.
I was a two tone man back in the mid eighties….. When Sonny Crockett on Miami Vice was wearing it with Rolex. But I am still with your initial thought process. I will pass on the two tone. That watch would like great sans the gold.
Just got my 41mm blue all steel at the weekend. Love it, still a sleeper in my view, sooner or later, people / tudor will realise and demand will shoot up. As prices of other prestige brands are dropping, I think this is a price point that people will start to pull to.
Good 👍 job on the video. Love your enthusiasm! I like the watch! I like the two tone. I like homages to the past. I like the gold pop of the bezel. I know the VC is a better watch, but I think this looks better. Got me thinking about Tudor...
Bruce, I actually do like this one as I liked your Zenith Defy Skeleton too. Both have been on my radar, and are on the one hand very different watches, and on the other rocking the integrated bracelet. I'd be keen to know which give you more satisfaction. Here in Australia only some Tudor ADs carry the Royal and due to lockdowns I've got no chance of getting to one that has it. I've tried the Defy and love it too but is twice the price. BTW, will you still be doing your follow-up Defy review?
This is STILL hugely under the radar, yet all variations are listing at 20% above retail. I am lucky enough to be collecting a 41 black dial tomorrow at 15% below list from a high street jewellers. Massive win. The price is only a bonus. I never sell my watches.
Really stunning piece, I really like this and I'm normally into the diver style watches. I have a black bay 41 s and g with the champagne dial and jubilee style bracelet arriving tomorrow, and I can't wait! I agree, the two tones are on the comeback!
I have the seiko quartz two tone datejust style 36mm watch and it’s one of my favorite watches! Love this! Enjoy. Something about two tone and the fluted bezel screams 70s and 80s. Rolex homage? Perhaps.. make it your own! God bless
its gorgeous! something about roman numerals on a watch oozes class to me. not much of a yellow gold person though, clashes with my skin tone i think anyway
Personally I think the gold in that particular bracelet wasn’t significant enough to call for wrapped gold. It’s not like it was a full gold bracelet. If you are going to have full gold on the bezel and crown, include it in the rest of the watch
Personally I think the reason this isn't a big hit is because of the bezel. The pattern looks cheap. They should have stuck to staggers at each numeral like Tudors of the past, or just fluted like a datejust. Otherwise a solid watch
I agree with bezel pattern, it's not my cup of tea. It's still a nice watch overall. I was looking at buying the Royal but bought a NOS Tudor Prince Day + date instead.
It's a beautiful watch. However, I would have loved the watch more if if they used solid 18K on the bracelet links rather than the plating. With daily use, the plating will eventually wear off.
Tudor doesn’t specifically state on their website what parts on some of their watches contain actual 18k gold. They are extremely vague or will just loosely use the term ‘gold’ to describe capped or plated. If all the ‘gold’ parts on this watch were actual 18k, this wouldn’t cost $3350. They never specify Karat weight but historically it has been between 14 and 18 with 18 being most common. Even the bezel and crown being gold there is still a LOT of room for profit. Do a little research, its fascinating. With gold prices now at about 57 dollars per gram- a solid gold day date contains about $5000 worth of gold. And that is a higher grade with more material. Definitely not a sales tactic lol
@@BruceWilliams Right, but as you stated in your video the bracelet contains capped gold. On Tudor’s website, it doesn’t state this. It just says “316L steel and yellow gold”. What about the hour indexes? Probably capped too.
@@terrorrbabbletwo The links are the only rolled gold on the watch. About .2mm thick. The indexes on the dial are just plated. Likely over a nickel alloy
